They all sound fine, I don't think it matter which one you use

wow great demo, 4x12s have so much less mid range muddiness compared to 2s. Super bright and clear thru 4x12, almost solid state-like from the Bogner and Zilla cabs

For recording modern metal the Recto & any sort of 5150 or 6505 are stellar in my opinion. For Rock and 80‘s metal the JCM 800 is the amp. But all others also sound very good and have their place. Finally the cab, the speaker or the IR are the most important part in the chain, determining the core sound. It depends on the song and which sound is in the producers/guitarists head.

Mesa/Boogie 2x12

As I guy who never had any of them, I'd say I like them all, with all their specialities/differences.

I prefer the 5150 out of the bunch. Mix it with the Rectifier, and it’s the perfect tone for that kind of music.

Encuentro mayor nitidez en los 2 x 12. Podría afirmar que los 4 x 12 tienen mayor notoriedad con un grave siempre presente, pero en una grabación se suma a los graves del bajo y del bombo y al final vas a tener que limpiar la pista de la guitarra. Conclusión me quedo con los 2 x 12.

They are all so similar here that there's no reason to pick one over any other on the sound alone lol... It is either IR that makes them all identical or you have dialled them in real close. I don't know... They are barely distinguishable. Maybe if stacked next to each other in fast 4sec or so succession I would be able to tell a bigger difference.

But Does two 2x12"s stacked beat one 4x12" I thinking of building my own cab or cabs, and I want four 12in speakers but i like 2 different types, I been trying to fin some sort of switch that allows you to choose what speakers are On or Off, but i started thinking it might just be easier to make 2 seperate boxes and have a stack of 2 individual 2x12 cabs, rather then 1 cab containing all 4.... I have lumber to do either.

Sick riff! I'm pretty torn between these two strings; I think NYXLs are supposed to last longer and tune better, so I really like that, but I do feel like the EXLs have more "bite" and "punch" that I really like (especially in the palm mutes), although, I don't know how long they retain that brightness. Thanks for the comparison video!

These strings eat your frets. I squared off the tops of a set of stainless frets in about 3 years with these. Went back to xl's or slinkys and fret wear stopped

Based on this video, I prefer Solar for playing chords, but prefer Ibanez for everything else :)

Cualquiera de los 3 funciona perfecto en la mezcla. Para mi el cab real, se siente más rico y cálido en como reproduce los medios graves, pero los amp sims suenan mas “precisos”. The Ibanez has so much more body and fullness and grind. The Solar sounds weak, dead and thin.

For these riffs, 5150, Dual Rec, and ENGL. I love me a JCM 800, but for this style, it seems a little dull. Some people get different results though. For a sharp sound, I'd pop in some Shuguang Beijing, Square Foil Getters. They are the same preamp tubes that came in the OG 5150, and they make a big diff in those 2 amps. (they don't really make a difference Ina stealth though.. So it depends on the amp)

all this setup to test 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-00000-0-0 on the lowest string..waste of time

4x12 more punch and presence but i think its enough good to buy 2x12 instead because of price tag and home usage

I appreciate the time and effort put into this, but I wish this kind of videos wasn’t always done with such low tunings. Just sounds like chug chug to me and doesn’t really show what the amps sound like.

A 800 with this sound IS impossible without 20 lbs of diods before the preamp.... Mark iv win.
