Please take note of my premise: "Not having to go far or put yourself in danger to get stuff that you need". I probably could have emphasized that more. I do nevertheless appreciate every opinion on the matter!
For the longest time, there had been a front-runner in what is the best base for long-term survival in The Long Dark, namely the Mountaineer's Hut. However a lot has changed due to the Safehouse Customization and Wildlife updates that came with Part 6 of TFTFT, passing the title of "Best Long-Term Base" to a new candidate. Enjoy!
