How to Build the Core for Back Pain | Full Workout
The main cause of the weakness he describes is too much sitting, reclining and lying in the fetal position. It over develops the psoas muscles. The main hip flexor so training the extensors will definitely help. But if the psoas tension remains it will cause degeneration at L4 and L5 discs. (Because it doesn’t attach to the L5) Lots of psoas stretching and stop using the treadmill, sit ups, crunches and start training the psoas stronger and longer with 10 second planks.
Keep going bro!!
For sure. I need an adjustment or something on top of my back muscle rebuild I'm sure. But y'know what helps and actually gets me excited to go to the gym now? Ass to grass squats with lighter weight, deadlifts and clean and press. The full ROM on deep squats is amazing and felt really good on my legs and lower back and knees with purposefully very slow gains
Continual re injury over 20 years to the point of shaving, putting shoes on, vaccuming, repeatedly randomly throwing my back out (L4 L5).. Sitting crooked, hip issue, hernia, yep that's me exactly. You now have my FULL attention.
What do you recommend besides the exercises? Like I have pain while walking in hips, stiffness (you know the usual stuff). Are there any stretches that you do recommend, and stuff like walking?
Wanted to ask what back extension machines you guys recommend? I've seen gym vids where you've said the one you're demonstrating on isn't great. Given your stance on needing one, thought some info on this would be excellent
But did you have the pelvic tilt before the disc hernation or was it a result of the disc hernation?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"We've been lied to. I don't think there's no malicious intent" And yet as you said: There's something missing from the initial triage to actually getting out of the loop of re-injuring yourself. Which keeps doctors and physical therapists in high demand for treatment.
I'm currently skew, right hip to right completely, left side us straight but sensitive on certain movements, struggle to bend forward, any advice, already started some of your advices
"I want to be honest about why I made this video..." Nice intro above, ⬆and a fanfuckingtastic video.
this guys convinced me to buy this back exercise machine lets see after winter if my back gets better
But what if I have a hernuated disc in upper spine area?
What about neck/cervical issues? Anyone here have DDD or some form of neck problems?
Yes, I would like to see this as I have both.
I have facette syndrome and back extensions brought my Symptoms to nearly Zero. Thank you so much!! I thought I have good lower back because I could Lift heavy But I had not!!! It was a joke. I had no strength and resilience in the back. I first noticed probs with barbell bent over row why I could Not stabilize my lower back and Everything felt wrong
This sounds like me for the last 35 years. Thank you so much, can't wait to try these exercises.
This is my first time commenting, man you're GOAT. I am following your progressions and feel so much difference now in my back pain. I love you dude.
Awesome video! You have told me exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you so much!
No fix, useless ass video
Is there evidence that strengthening muscles makes them more flexible as well?
Had lower back pain for years. Always sore. I knew that whenever I did back extensions and get a good pump, I would be good for a few days. Never took it really reariously though. Your video convinced me I really should take care of my body better. Great explanation!
Watching this, quoting Agent Smith : "Me.... Me, me, me".
Thank you guys, this is really good info
I am 72 years old and I have been doing the entire program for 2 weeks now with amazing results. I have a history of back injury, and was suffering with crippling sciatica. I ease into every exercise, and at 2 weeks, I can do them all, including the back extension. I currently hold 2x for 1 minute each, working up to 2 mins as advised in the vid. My sciatica has been reduced by 90%. Note: This is a copy of my reply to another commenter, but wanted to post it up top, so more likely to be seen. I am really happy with the LBA Program.
I gonna need the full video on this one bro. We need this reverse aging magic.
Hello. I've been training stretching for 3 years and I have a complete lateral opening, but when you stretch the tibial hamstrings I feel a strong pain in my calf and it doesn't seem to reach the hamstrings. Is it related to strengthening the lower back so the sciatic nerve can glide freely?
GO LEGGINGS
Cool
🔥🔥🔥👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤝🏻
Is the progression first A (isometric 2min hold), then B (1min isometric single leg), then C (flat back extensions) and so on, or is it A, then A+B, then A+B+C per single session?

@@ItsVibes1 you reached out to them?
Critical thinking on what he is saying here and in all his videos tells you that he is correct on his training. It just makes sense.
Could seated good morning isolations be used as an alternative to the back extension machine? Why or why not?
great job, makes sense.I have been on the hamster wheel of band aid treatments.ready to try some healing through stregth.
I had been suffering with low back pain for months. It would literally hurt to roll over to get out of bed. I was desperate for help. My chiropractor (who is awesome) assigned me the same stabilization exercises. The exercises weren't doing enough for me quickly enough. Then I came across your video and what you were saying made sense to me. I did a variation of the back extension on a machine at the gym with moderate. I have to say that the next day, I noticed a decrease in my low back pain. I have been doing the exercise for two weeks now and my low back pain is practically gone. I dreaded getting up in the morning because of some degree of pain. And, suddenly, the other day, I had made my way to the bathroom to get ready for my day when it occurred to me that it wasn't a struggle to get up that morning. My back feels amazing, and I feel as mobile as I was before. Thanks for the information.
Thanks Brendan, your explanation of the connection between inner-upper-front and inner-lower-back is a revelation.
100 BW back extensions. I do sets of 50 every workout (4-6 times a week).
Those of there with disc issues will not be helped by these techniques. You need to get professionally diagnosed before starting a treatment routine to know if what you're doing is safe and effective

I was watching his vids also bcuz my goal is also to dunk again at 51 well now maybe 52. still a long ways to go lol
I hate these….thats why I do them at least 4 days a week. lol
this video will take time to watch. saving it for now. thanks a lot for this research. 🙏🙏🙏
I see you haven't read a shred of literature on the topic. A shame you have such a big reach. 😮
@@DieFaktenlage interesting assumption
Talking about imbalances, weakness, "important muscles" etc and not adressing psychosocial factors is fucked up and reductionistic.
@@DieFaktenlage interesting assumption
I don't know how many pushups i can do because whenever i try, something whacky goes on in my elbow, so i dont try so as to avoid injury
Interesting to hear his “backstory”
Most of my back pain is from swapping my weight from side to side. Sfanding straight with even weight distrubution feels so much better
