La Pavoni Lever & Kinu grinder espresso accompanied by the Bluetooth Dual Espresso Shot Profiler
A video when I just had some fun with the La Pavoni machine and my manual Kinu Phoenix grinder.
For me, these two create the perfect couple.
On the background, you will see my world's first dual shot profiler, seeing for the first time, both pressure and temperature AT THE SAME TIME, right above the coffee puck.
I would love you to see the temperature stability that the Bong Isolator offers.
Let me know what proof would someone still need after this video, that upgrades DO IMPROVE the shots on any La Pavoni lever machines with no doubt.

Wish I'd found this video yesterday, would have saved me an hour of headache because i didn't know i should go counterclockwise first! Finall got it in straight and feel very good about it, no more plastic, now the sleeve is stainless steel. The pulls as SO MUCH SMOOTHER now and temps just a bit cooler but where I want it and seems to be more temp stable. Loverly upgrade for my Esperto Abile. Thanks fot the great parts and video!! One question, I will need new gaskets later this year for the Esperto Abile. Can you provide a link to the correct package i should buy? Thanks!

    Love the videos. What would really improve the machine for me is a built in on / off timer. Second thing that would be amazing is a sensor that feels how hot the piston is and then either triggers the boiler or turns it off (kind of like a PID). I love my LP Romantica and Coffee Sensor made this machine so much better.

    Great to see this vid has been provided to assist us, the great unwashed, and was absolutely of assistance to me.. I'm going to note a couple of things in the process: If you don't want to disassemble the boiler, get the spanner.. Then, If you have a pressure profiler or airbuster installed, the spanner will be too long... I took mine to the bench vice, and "adjusted" it with a hammer. Now, you won't using the spanner in the conventional sense of spanners, you can only locate the nut and hold it, there will be no turning.... While I was at the vice I took the grinder to the shoulders on the spanner, so that I could better find the flats of the unseen nut.. And, yes, when removing the existing tap body, it will hit your pressure gauge, perched atop the sight glass.. I'm going suggest that, in the sense of working with bicycles: if you fiddle with it, there will be trouble... Leave the pressure gauge in place and remove the tap handle (that you will no longer use) in order to facilitate the removal of the tap body... At reassembly, and you will have already noted that the nut that holds the tap body on is oddly thin, with the nut held in the spanner, I had difficulty picking up the thread with the new tap body... It certainly wasn't an option with the two nylon washers at the tap body, depicted in the vid... The kit however came with four such nylon washers, so, before you place the nut (wafer thin..) into the spanner, slip in a nylon washer, to raise the nut up... Even then, in the end I just some how jagged it, and I was away.. Lastly; the kit doesn't come with a new copper washer, so it might be best to anneal the existing one, at your kitchen hob, before reassembly.... Hope this is useful..

    Hi, This is a great tutorial but there's one but - I've tried to do the same with Esperto Abile and the group pressure gauge screws (there are two of them) are so tight that can't undo them - am too afraid to apply too much pressure as am not sure whether am supposed to take it apart at all? Also, would be good to mention there's a specific direction shower screen seal has to go inside the group i.e. square edge always to the bottom and rounded one always up.

    • @anylookup
      @anylookup 6 месяцев назад

      I managed to get the group pressure gauge unscrewed but then my nightmare started. I got the group out and was trying to remove the plastic sleeve with the purchased tool. The tool is great but the plastic sleeve would not unscrew and chipped instead where the tool's two teeth were supposed to hold the tool. I injured my hand quite badly because of it. In the end I had to melt some of the sleeve's plastic and use hammer to destroy it and remove. I then was able to use the tool to screw back in a new brass sleeve. I greased everything with food grade silicone but it was very hard to insert the piston back into the sleeve and took many minutes of fiddling so be prepared. I had to push the piston's seals inside the groves and at some point it went all the way inside. I have scratched the group a bit on the edges because of my struggles but in the end got all done and it's now fully upgraded. I also got a thermometer but was surprised that two wires are exposed where they join bit that supposed to be sticked to the group so make sure they're not shored and had to isolate them as otherwise the temp would always show HHHHH and didn't work correctly.

    • @coffeesensor6612
      @coffeesensor6612 4 месяца назад

      Thanks for the updates and you posting your personal struggle with the sleeve. Many had to go on that road. Question is how come a plastic part, which some said to me has no problem staying there, melts and gets blocked inside the group head? I have the answer and hope all users will eventually replace their sleeve with the metal one as soon as possible. Good info about the sensor, we already know about this problem and the new batch will attack this situation head on. Wires will be better isolated. Cheers !

    • @anylookup
      @anylookup 4 месяца назад

      Just wanted to update those reading my above comment - after some time of using LP, and while doing new upgrades , I discovered that one of the seals was broken due to improper installation. I then also realised what a black plastic ring included in the package was for - silly me! It was the piston installation tool!! I replaced both black seals with orange silicone and installing the piston back with the tool was a piece of cake and no struggle at all! So, do buy that little tool as it'll minimise the risk of incorrect piston installation and damaging your new seals.

      Originally it bends anyway, base flexes also. The entire pull force sits on two stainless steel bolts, so no problem there.

    I have problems with the push lever not springing back up in the downward purge mode. What can I do to fix this?

      You need to use the blocking nut, change it's position in order to obtain the best knob function.

    Great video @coffeesensor6612! It is very nicely explained. Can you let me know if this is an out of the box XMT7100, or it has been modified in some way? Adn why there is a need to a small grey jumper cable between PID terminal 1 and PID terminal 4?

      The XMT is standard controller, no mods made to it.
