Ragely MMMBop review
I took the Mmmbop over Walla Crag for the review of this budget hardtail from #Ragely. I got this bike from Chain Reaction Cycles for £900. I think it was an absolute bargain the RRP is £1600.

    Greta vid as usual Richard. Can I just ask how much full on hike-a-bike there was as I have a very heavy e MTB & can't really get it up & over onto my shoulders so usually end up pushing it up the tech steep stuff. Just not sure this would be possible on this route. What do you reckon? Cheers, Neil

      Neil, I think you would really struggle even with walk assist. The route is proper hike a bike the only climb you will pedal is the Honister one. I would not take anyone on an E round it. There is a Vid on EMBN of Steve Jones and Adam Brayton doing on Es so its possible but not fun. I think there are ways of doing the main decents on an E with the exeption of Scarth Gap to Black Sail as separate rides.

      @@mtbguides_Rich Thanks for the sound advice. I struggled getting over the pass from Howtown back to Hartsop (Top of Boredale Hause pass) & some the 4 passes looks as steep if not more so than that, so maybe one to get my old non eTMB out of the garage for, cheers

    Did you have had fun getting up to Lingy Hut Rich ?

    • @mtbguides_Rich
      @mtbguides_Rich 2 года назад

      No the bridalway is pants, Ive not tried the grassy track that gose up direct to the hut I suspect it may be ok on the E. The track up High Pike from Calebeck seems the best option even if it makes the ride a bit longer.

      It's a big ride and it's only a short section, the rest of the ride is great it would be a good one for your team to do.

    Gordon Bennett! Think I would have tried via Scale Force , surely couldn't be as bad!

      It was a log book ride for my L3 assesment so had to be on the bridalway, yes I think that would have been a better decent.

    How much battery did you have left Rich?, and is it the 700 or 500 you've got in there? That's quite as distance covered on one battery's worth .. Malley

    • @mtbguides_Rich
      @mtbguides_Rich 2 года назад

      It's a 700 wh , I still had a bit left 15%, I've done the same ride but included High Pike twice 6% and 8% left, staying mainly in Eco.

      If don't want to worry about battery, I think there's a great loop starting from Longlands or Calebeck and missing out the Glenda bit

      When we move upth to glen moriston we're gonna treat ourselves to a couple of levos with the 700 .. so I was interested in its range and climb performance

      @@paddymalley8077 my best effort is 75k and 1900m climbing mainly of road in the boaders, pretty happy with the levo the only weak point is the wheels my model has cheap Mt500 hubs the freewheel has failed twice in a year it's lost a few spokes on the back wheel. As far the motor and the handling is it's spot on I've demoed a number of ebikes and the levo was better or equal to all of them (yeti, trek, focus,cube and mondraker)
