Any idea how cold the lake is? We did a polar plunge and it was refreshing but freezing!!

We hiked to Gem Lake last week. It’s otherworldly and looks similar to something out of the Tetons.

Hi Eric, nicely filmed, great trip. Love how you integrate the music. Reminded me of our Rae lakes adventure in 2017. We did 6 days with a side trip day to sixty lakes basin and a detour to include Kearsarge lakes which were also stunning. Favorite spot in the eastern Sierras. Chicken foot lake has the best camp sites and an overnight stay at one of the cabins in the valley is good for adjusting to that 10 thousand foot elevation.

I found your channel while searching for winter backcountry camping areas that allowed campfires and found your lake Spaulding trips. Definitely informative, in my case, and fun to watch but I ended up watching the rest of your Backpacking Adventures and really enjoyed those as well. Appreciate the effort it takes to record and edit videos on the trail. Nice work man, love the evolution and growth of your editing style from episode to episode.
