which books do you recommend?

I have been practicing for 41 years!! and I find that the newer Witches have been able to teach me things I hadn't thought of or didn't know about.... Maybe the old ways of doing things are not right anymore and fresh faces bring such great new ideas.

I want to work with Aphrodite because recently I've been feeling called by her, but I don't know if she's calling me, or I'm mixing thing's because of the admiration I already had for her and her history, honestly is so confusing and make me afraid of reaching out for her and getting rejected (I just realize I have fear of rejection lol😃)

I can relate to you with being a beginner because I use to be really jealous when I first saw people having better relationships with the deity that I tried working and worshipping back then and I just stopped completely but now I am worshipping them and gotten so much better and honestly this video is so amazing! I’ve been fighting myself to not get into witchcraft bc I was raised a Christian & indoctrinated that it’s all evil (which it’s not). Then I hit rock bottom last year. Yesterday I realized witchcraft is the thing that gives me a reason to get out of bed. So if my parents have a problem with it I’ll ask them, “would you rather I be dead?” Because that’s the reality of it.

Don't apologize for the chirping birds, they sound beautiful. I really needed this video, right now all I really do is pray and sometimes use a shower as a moment to cleanse my energy. All this time I thought I wasn't good enough as a Pagan and as a Witch so I really needed that message on if I do just one thing for the day, then I did good. Perfectionism really gets the best of me especially since I grew up in the church where I was constantly told I have to be perfect like Christ or else hell for me, so I always try to be perfect and if I can't be perfect I'll avoid & neglect everything including altars. I hope to refresh my altar today, if not today then soon because it's a mess again. I've been feeling like I'm a mess but recently I got sick and had to take a pause (rest 😊) in life, once I started to recover I saw how I really needed to rest because I was being too hard and unrealistic on myself. I’m so sorry you’ve been going through it. ☹️ Looking for the little things and giving yourself extra grace and love is always important during rough times. Witchcraft, to me, is a wonderful meditative practice. Even if you’re not sitting to do a big ritual or spell, it’s good to sit with yourself and allow the magic in you to come to the light. Magic is a truly wonderful thing that can conjure a soft, warm light in your heart, and you can draw on it whenever you want. I’m sure your deities are looking out for you in little ways too, even if you aren’t honoring them as much as you think you should. 😊

Last year I took cuttings for propagation and overwintered. I have 7 littles in pots that just got done blooming. Not quite big enough to put in the garden. Maybe next spring. My plan is to plant them in a circular hedge.

I understand saying the disclaimer to check with doctor first, but most doctors haven't studied the effects of dietary nutrition on the body. Doctors are trained to dispense medicines. So, my advice is to do your "homework" on the herbs before using medicinally or otherwise. Asking Big Pharma if something natural is good for us goes against their love of $$$.
