Poor man's USP😊
quite a bit smaller than even the usp compact i would say.
Everyone who purchases this firearm needs to check and see if the chassis pin is installed before firing the gun. I purchased mine from Bass Pro, and when I gave it a full cleaning before going to the range,I noticed my chassis pin (the one that secures the chassis to the frame)was not installed.
do you believe this was a factory error or do you believe it was disassembled at the store?
I'm not sure, but I bought the display gun, and it could have been the only one they got from HK. I asked how many they had sold and they said they were not allowed to say. I suspect because it was a "new" firearm, someone at the retailer just had to see what the internals looked like. No proof, just my opinion.
if i had to guess i would believe that before i thought hk sent it out missing such important parts.
@@5280Armory I agree, I don't see HK sending out firearms missing parts.
Smooth performance
thanks for watching. ak
For the same price HK CC9 or Glock 43X MOS with an Apex trigger?
too soon to tell. the 43x is a known value that has been out there for some years now. lets see how the cc9 does with some time. i already dont like the “recoil spring support” too easy to loose and break. i would like to see it rethought by the hk engineering team. ak
I'll wait for the slightly larger version; 3.5+ inch barrel and 15+1
hopefully there will be a 15 round mag for the current cc9 as well. i dont see any sku #s at the distributor level yet? ak
@5280Armory given how long it took to drop this, I can't see HK not making a 365 XL sized version.
it would make sense, it would also be nice if hk would do a civilian version of the ump and g36 but i learned to stop holding my breath with them on previously mentioned. ak

Good video. Can you explain how the firing pin disconnect (the rectangular piece that is within the firing pin) functions?
still waiting for my hk rep to give a tutorial on this. since you cannot see it when it installed it is a curiosity to all of us at the moment. thanks for watching. ak
@@5280Armorydoes it interact with anything in the chassis under the slide? The only thing I can think of is that it holds the firing pin in alignment in addition to the lug at the rear of the firing pin.
it does not interact with anything from the chassis, at least not directly. the other curiosity is that the slot for the firing pin disconnect is slightly elongated allowing an obviously inteded small amount of front to rear travel.
@ does the firing pin spring press against the rear of the rectangular disconnect? Maybe it acts to decelerate the firing pin when it hits the backside of the breech (especially if dry firing).
i took it apart one more time just to be double sure but the firing pin return spring stops just short of making contact with the firing pin disconnect.
If you spend enough time on Glock forums you'll understand why not having to pull the trigger for field stripping is a bonus. #SwissCheeseHands
At the high risk of presuming that we are talking about the same issue of “to pull” or “not to pull” the trigger before disassembly? This is my thought on that matter. With over 25 years behind the counter showing and working with folks on a potential Glock purchase, I prefer the face to face feedback that I have received in the store and on range. As it pertains to Glock, I found that people either like the trigger or they don't. Whether they thought it was too heavy, gritty etc.. or not, it was ultimately up to them (full disclosure, I am neither a Glock fan boy or hater). So for me that leaves the topic of person NOT properly removing the mag and checking the chamber before disassembling. Proper training from a qualified instructor will easily circumvent a negligent discharge. On the topic of a Glock malfunction resulting in the firing of a round without ANY human interaction whatsoever, I am certainly NOT saying that it has never happened, I am just saying that I have never personally witnessed it. If I missed the mark on what your statement was pertaining too? Please be more clear with our viewers on what your issue is. Thanks for watching. ak
@ I'm just saying the HK design is superior from a safety standpoint because you don't need to touch the trigger at all to remove the slide.
Not having to touch the trigger for disassembly from a manufacturers point of view is in my opinion going to be the way forward for many companies. Likely going to be less liability for them. They cannot force folks read a manual or get proper training before handling. ak
Thanks for the video, well done!

Question, once you remove the MD does that affect the trigger reset in anyway were it won't reset properly ? Also, the Girsan MCP35 is modeled after the MK II or MK III HP ? Would like to replace my rear sight with an adjustables sight and want to make sure I order the correct sight with the proper dovetail dimensions. Thank you for the excellent videos you guys put out. You have a new subscriber.
we didnt have any issues but over time? i suppose it could be possible.
Best video on removing the Girsan magazine disconnect! The disconnect does not come out in the typical manner from the California models, which is frustrating. Typically I could just drive out the pin on the trigger itself and the disconnect would eject into the magazine well. Thanks for this. Have a great day!
thanks for watching. ak
@5280Armory your video was the only one which showed a clear, methodical and practical method for full disassembly, including removal of the magazine disconnect. I recently got a Girsan P35, and the method shown on the other videos, did not work, that said, I also did not have an issue with their trigger pin being incorrectly shaped (too narrow so that it wouldnt seat properly afterward, it mustve been an early QC or design issue). I detest those things. Ive taken them out easily from actual Brownings in the usual non invasive manner, but it simply would not unseat on the one that I got, and Id never had to disassemble the entire trigger assembly before. Im very grateful for the help. Thanks!
Thank you Sir for the detailed assembly and disassembly..Just purchased my Hellion and had a blast at the range..Looking forward to taking it apart for some cleaning
thanks for watching. ak
What is the rate of fire? Looks like more than 900 rpm
havent personally measured it but i trust b&t to be pretty close on their specs
Slide doesn't stay back at all?
not often for me without adjusting my grip. ak
@5280Armory had me worried for a sec. My match was sensitive to ammo. best hand gun ever.
I was very happy with it, hits on a 12 inch target at close to 50 yards were effortless. ak
I thought the Cheek riser was adjustable. I thought it had 2 levels, Am I wrong!
sorry have been away for a while but it is not adjustable, though at first you would think that it was. ak
I've had this gun for five years so far! I've put at least 700 rounds through it! No problems at all! It's big and heavy but very accurate, ideal for home defense!
Glad to see MIL/LE get things civilians can’t. I mean, civilian bad guys don’t wear armor, thick clothes… I’m retired Infantry and a former SWAT Officer.
that topic draws much debate and ultimately it is up to the business owner of g9 to decide who can get the mil/police variation
The height comparison to the other pistols is somewhat misleading, as CZ's 19 round flush fit mags are compatible this firearm (the same mags that come with the non suppressor P-09). Conceal carrying the 21 round extended mags would be difficult. The flush fit 19 round mags are doable.
I bought the CZ P-09 non suppressor version, in OD Green with Tritium night sights. It just arrived, so not shots yet. But, the SA trigger is very nice. I'm going to CC this pistol. I really wanted the suppresor version. I was just unsure if I could AIWB a 5.15" barrel. I'm going to have my custom Kydex holster maker, make an AIWB holster that will accommodate both versions. I'm 100% sure I can AIWB the suppressor version in colder weather, with relaxed fit Wrangler jeans. I'm just not sure if I can successfully carry it in summer clothing. If my holster maker can make a holster that will fit both versions, I'll buy the suppressor version as well.
It's not an Ak, it's the Serbian Hammaaaaa!!!
Excellent video. Thank you!

Excellent review 👏

Two issues I do not like, going from M-16/M4/AR-15. Use of external tools , punches and bullets. All pins should be captive and work on finger pressure alone. Use of CLP oil. Oil, sand, and dirt are a bad combination for precision firearm. A weapon needs to function dry. Minor gripes. Stripping produces very small, critical, and easily looseable parts. Like bolt cam. Ambi configurable ejector port is nice and good idea, but unneccessary. Generations of lefties have shot righty weapons just fine. I suppouse its OK, when its done by armorer or skilled owner, do one and forget it. IMHO it adds added complexity to weapon. I was going to gripe on removable magwell, which seems like a an armorer job, and not a field stripping task. But I do get that weapon can be field configured for different ammo, with different magwell, barrel, and may be bolt. So its fine , I guess. Overall very impressive instrument. I look at weapons from POV of infantryman or PMC operator sweating it out. Not as a range thing, with instructor and armorer at arms reach. I develop sci-fi scripts. So so put yourself in mindframe of a senior PMC operator who is tasked with escorting a bunch of scientists and businessmen onto a 'time travel safety not gauranteed safari' to MidCretacious Patagonia. You have to come up with plan for nu,ber of PMC personell and their uniform kit.
step 4 5 6 7 and 8 you never need to do, so its same easy as AR15
Three cheers to the Croatians/Springfield for designing the VHS/Hellion in such a simple straightforth manner to disassemble and reassemble! I'm more than pleased with mine.

Hi Matt. Here from Costa Rica. Don’t have a second amendment but we are allow to purchase semiautomatic weapons. It’s a long process every time we get one but it’s worth it. I ordered my Springfield Hellion about four months ago and finally got to the point that I can do the paperwork with the government to buy it legally. From here on is three more months to have in my safe. I went to the gun shop yesterday and got the chance to play a little with it. I’m very excited and can’t wait to take it to the range. I’ll keep you updated. Looking forward to watch more of your videos. Thanks.
I am happy to hear that Costa Rica has a method for those that want to enjoy the shooting sports and if needed, to be able to defend yourself and family. It sounds like a long process, is there a way for law abiding citizens to speed the procedure up? Americas second Amendment is a corner stone to our countries very existence and is no coincidence that it merited the number 2 position in our Constitution. Thanks for watching. ak
Sad there are no closer records when you deal with small parts of
we will try to get more close ups in the future. thanks for watching. ak
Really good video ! Need more info actually which components to lubricant when first shooting hellion?
I always lightly coat all of my bolt components and corresponding receiver rails that the bolt rides on, also the recoil spring and guide rod if one exists. a drop of oil on the trigger pin or pins. this process is very consistent with most of my semi automatic rifles. generally i look for moving metal to metal parts and always read the manual on the recommendations as it pertains to the recoil / gas operation system as this can vary from one design to another. thanks for watching. ak
How far in the does firing pin go? When you push the bolt back with your hand, should it it be able to lock back in the last notch? Should the firing oin be able to pop out after you put the firing pin retaining pin in? Thanks!
An American beauty
i agree, thanks for watching, ak
Sorry, the "full view" cut off the lower portion of the screen, when I go to regular view, the rifle can actually be seen. I'm watching it again in detail. Thanx!

Can’t find this gun anywhere now days!
I totally just did....now convincing my wife to buy it...🤔
The only thing i cant seem to get right is the firing pin, how far down is the firing pin supposed to go?
Great video y'all Thanks for doing these. The only downside is this is another fun looking gun I didn't know I wanted/ needed.
i have been the "want" side of that equation for 30 years now. thanks for watching. ak
really good video thanks, I have having a lot of fun with my hellion, quick question though, why do you point the rifle are your toes after you are done shooting? Good way to get a limp, and if it does go off for some reason in a range with a concrete floor who knows where that bullet is going to end up. And it was loaded with the safety off. All it takes is one mistake.
when i am on range and am not at an angle to point at the rubber burm ( 1st choice ). then "up" is not possible as the bullet will exit the building, so that only leaves down, the camera angle will not always show that i do value my toes and make an effort to not point my firearm in a direct path to any of my body parts while of course keeping my finger off the trigger. shot count is always figured to talk when the gun is out of ammo unless i am doing a handgun transition. thanks for watching. ak
I'm having trouble pulling the butt stock off. I have the pin out all the way, and the butt stock comes out a bit, but it just doesn't want to finish coming out... Any tips? I've tried twist and pull (both directions).
i have tried to reproduce what your describing, the one i have here comes off easy with the hammer cocked or in the fired position, it should just come apart with little effort. are you still having issues? ak
@@5280ArmoryHey, thanks for the reply! I actually took the gun to my local gunsmith. Turns out I didn't have the ejector in the right position (I could see inside the barrel, as opposed to the opening being covered by the ejector). It wasn't something I was going to catch watching videos; I had to have someone show me in person since I don't have a lot of experience with firearms in general (much less rifles). Appreciate your response, and have a great New Year!
ok good to know, i will keep this in mind if i ever hear that someone is having the same type issue. happy new year. ak
Hi thank you for your great video! Is it possible to just flip the fireing control selector to the other side for a left hand shooter? And if so, is there a screw for the fireselctor switch? Can you make a video about changing the whole trigger and specially all the steps before?
sorry for the delay but the selector lever is already ambi. thanks for watching. ak
@@5280Armory thanks for the answer. As a left hander, after a few houndred rounds the long lever on the left side started to hurt the triggerfinger. And its very hard to operate the short lever on the right side with the thumb…. It is not realy amby. I found a aftermarket selector lever which is perfect….
thank god for after market fixes. ak
Matt I agree that this a fairly good video on the Tavor 7, Very Good sound Very Good video quality Not the best information on right to left handed switch over. But otherwise VG to excellent ball Z ness shooting like crazy on an indoor range, excellent demonstration of the flash out of the front of it without a suppressor. Nice of you to demonstrate other full length rifles in comparison. Nice of you to do an OSHA and EMSHA violation riding in the bucket of the loader backhoe for our entertainment. Over all an excellent job and video, all that you were missing was How the controls work, mag eject, installation, bolt hold open and release haw to remove and reinstall the adjustable gas system up front and not showing exactly how to go from right to left handed.
I was about to buy this gun but it removed from the cali compliant list. I’m Very disappointed about that. I should have bought one when I had the chance Ive always wanted one.
it is very difficult to enjoy your 2nd Amendment and be a firearm owner in CA. we also have an uphill battle here in CO as well. ak
Hey Matt, I really like the Hellion/VHS-2 but I did an internet search for spare parts suppliers and got crickets. Do you know of anything coming down the pike on that?
I would definitly contact Springfield Armory for spare or replacement parts. ak
isnt it dangerous to have ranges that closed in? it looks like theres so many surfaces for ricochet
with a properly designed range everything is directed to the bullet trap. consequently you wouldn’t even need all deflective hard surfaces if your were lucky enough to find yourself surrounded by experienced and trained shooters but in reality that isn’t the case. Ak
