My adopted cat of 9 years, started disappearing for 2 days at a time last summer, I got tired of worrying. Got fox, coyotes, all kinds of predators out here in the western North Carolina/SC borderline. I have kept my cat indoors now, since just before hurricane Helene hit on September 27th. Too much debris outside. Dangerous. All the downed trees and sticks everywhere. I need to build her a catio & exercise / play areas. She's not getting exercise indoors. This cat loves the outdoors and she's had access anytime, coming and going on this 2 acres as she pleased. Thinking about putting up wall stairs in my 800 sq ft cabin. Any suggestions like that for a small space, for now, something cheap for me to do? I have a very tight budget. Thank you. I really love your channel & what y'all have done there. That's taken a lot of work. I have been finding scrap materials to use... wood, carpet, wire and screening, thinking of a wire enclosed cat walk like you have. I just didn't know how to do the top wire. I still want her inside with human & dog contact too. I need a staple gun now. Never thought I would have a cat. I am in love with this cat and she's in love with me. Now I understand why people love cats. Her disappearances were scaring me when she came back looking thinner. I think maybe she found a feral cat friend and she was disappearing with that other kitty. I've only briefly seen it twice. I had this one and her son, and I believe a fox got the young 6 month baby. Someone dumped her here in the country with five kittens, on a day that was over a hundred degrees. They were so thirsty and hungry. I found homes for all the kittens but one, so I had kept the two cats. Now it's just her and my dog. After 8 years they're finally getting along well. Lol. I want to keep this one safe. She's such a beautiful sweet mama kitty. Fixed and spoiled rotten. I even buy vintage heating pads for her winter bedding, that have no auto shut off, so she's got access to warmth in the window, in her bed, anytime she wants it. She absolutely loves that warm spot in the 8 ft tall window. She needs exercise though. She's never been fond of toys. She likes real life things outside... the predator cat instinct, catching mice, lizards, small baby snakes etc. I can't afford more vet bills for more animals, at my age. My dog needs surgery so more cat friends for her is not a financial option. Never thought I would want to keep her indoors. The worrying just got to me. I don't want to lose her like that. That baby boy cat disappearing & seeing that big fox, absolutely broke my heart. I still think about him every day. I want this one safe, healthy and happy.

@OurCatioHome they don't have one but I have a freind that has about 15 cats and I plan moving with her with my boy and Milo seems to prefer the outdoors

@OurCatioHome I dont use padlocks I find it to hard I can never figure out how to put those codes. What mesh should I use cause yesterday I noticed my cat nail was cut way to short and I don't know what happened but my guess is it was from climbing the mesh in his catio even though he doesn't have to climb he can easily get to the higher shelfs if he jumped
