Great review and video. Thank you.
👍👍👍👍👍
I found my Brisk a/c (have had two now)lasted longer running 24/7 in the summer and when I shut it down during non use time or winter months it would always have issues (making weird noises) and getting back into a groove when we fired it back up again.
Why not have a third test with just water? That's all i use and my tanks are fine. I do dump them refill and flush most of the time.
It's simple, use regular toilet paper folks! For crying out loud. It's just a holding tank. Flush as your dumping. Been doing this for 23 years with zero issues. Dont get suckered with unnecessary rv only equipment or fads. I reversed flush every other trip. Done simple. Never ever have I used rv only toilet paper
My 38' is cooking. Been trying to just keep it under 89⁰ inside. One ac unit and a small portable. But i ca t run anything else or i trip the 15amp breaker and can feel it radiating heat if i run fans or a tv while its plugged in.
Can you switch your water heater and fridge to propane? That should allow you to run your AC on constant low and use the portable on the other side of the unit
3 years running full time both still doing great.
So, having the thermostat set on "auto" is probably not so good for the unit in comparison with running it continuously???
So auto on the RV thermostat is for the fan. Temp is how you would set the AC. The AC will auto cycle.
@TechTipTNT I have a 2019 Forest River Sandpiper 368FBDS. It has two AC units (front & rear) and I have both thermostats set to cool / auto / high and the temp set at 72°. So the AC automatically kicks on when the temperature rises and shuts off at the desired 72°
@@unafraid7628 That would be perfect. although I prefer 70 myself. ;)
@TechTipTNT Thanks for the advice and your timely response... much appreciated. Stay safe out there, and stay cool 😎
I have been using unique extra strength for a couple years and switched to Liquified. Liquified broke down better letting me flush once instead of twice with the Unique XS
I wonder if anyone knows what the ingredients are in Happy Camper? I use it and it works for me.
Regarding plugging in, isn’t it better to never plug in or remove plug with the breaker on the power pedestal OFF.
My dad made a checklist on a note card that he taped to one of the walls on the RV so that he would remember to do all those things. It just seemed like there were a few steps before travel.
How do you keep the food in the fridge cold without propane on? Run the generator?
Scary Dude!
Hello, I am new to your channel, good stuff. I believe I heard you mention that sometimes solar panels produce less than 12 volts (maybe I heard this incorrectly). From listening to you, I know the solar controller regulates higher voltage (above 12) and sends 12v to the batteries. What does the solar controller do when the panels produce less than 12v? Thank you
Interesting and informative. Please consider a control sample of just water the next time you do this type of comparison.
I started to use Liquified for a couple of trips at the end of 2023, and I just used it for a short trip (3 days) this past week. I've found the Liquified to work better than any product I've used in the past 30 years or so. When I dumped the black tank on Thursday morning, I kept an eye on the clear section of my dump hose system (right before the exit point) and I didn't see any solid matter at all. It was hot & humid for 2 of the 3 days and didn't have any odor issue. So, I'm going to keep using Liquified as it works and is so easy to add to the tank i.e. built in measuring, no mixing, etc. I am not connected to the company! I enjoy your videos....and I did hit the subscribe button and thumbs up!
Tried both…. Liked both. Off topic question….How do you feel about using the Flush-King reverse flush system?
I haven't tried Liquified yet but I've been pretty happy with the Unique. I use the pre-dosed pods which also include some of the deodorizer. If it's really hot or I'm doing 2 weeks I'll throw an extra one in halfway through, seems to work pretty well. I also keep a bottle of their tank unclogger under the sink, just in case. It's a lifesaver in a pinch.
Before I clicked, I knew that you would choose Liquified. Amazing that the company that sponsors your RV Unplugged show happens to win your little competition. You RV guys all pretend to do unbiased reviews of products but your reviews are always biased toward the company that's paying you.
So this test was done a year before we came up with the show. We just posted on this channel after. Its sad that you think that years of free content provided by me you instantly think my integrity is in the tank. Thet lets me know a lot about you.
I think he grunted a little more and deeper on the liquified sample when he poured in the dog food giving it a clear advantage and making the entire test null and void. 💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽💩🚽
Pinesol and calgon bath pearls
Yeah but Todd doesn't make money that way. Liquified sponsors RV Unplugged so of course he was always going to choose them.
There is a great RUclips out there that shows the surfactant method is not as effective. That’s all about Kleen Tank looking to sell its $200+ tank cleaning
Hi, I am in the process of changing my fifth wheel to Lithium Batteries and am curious what I need to do to my 2019 F350 Ford Super Duty, to protect the alternator. Thank You
Should be fine to have AC on "all the time" however compressor is never on 100% of the time.....compressor always cycles based on thermostat......fan may always be on but compressor always cycles....always
Ive used RV Digest for years and been happy with it. To support Matt I tried Liquified for 2 months. Bottom line: They both work very well at breaking down, but, Liquified does not control odor nearly as well and Digest It.
Liquified sponsors RV Unplugged so Todd is extremely biased.
Good unit will run 15 years constantly.
Great video! Maybe add some corn next time?
;)
Liquified may do well at liquifying solids in your black tank, but it SUCKS with killing odors. I tried it when it initially came out just because I watch Matt’s RV Reviews, but wasn’t impressed. After several days, I began to notice some smells coming up from the black tank when I would flush. This NEVER happened with Happy Camper. I eventually went back to HC. Well, recently I ran out of HC and tried Liqufied again…used a little bit more of it per dose and used with A LOT of water (thinking this may have been the issue last time). Well, same exact thing…after a couple days I began to smell some odors out of the black tank when flushing. I finally got my order of HC from Amazon and immediately drained and cleaned black tank and went back to old trusty. After several days, there is 0 odor. Liquified is substandard with odors…slightly above standard with emulsifying solids. Don’t waste your money…go HC and be done with it.
But Liquified sponsors RV Unplugged so they were going to be the winner of this competition no matter what. These RV guys don't do unbiased reviews. Their reviews are based on who is paying them.
Great comparison, but both those products are $$$. How about the same test with Walmart’s TST, Agua Max, Campa-fresh, or Porta-Pak. That’s the stuff we’re all using.
Both do the same thing and many tank cleaning specialists say the liquified part just sits at the bottom of the tank and makes a sludge is not good. What is your opinion on the sludge just sitting in the bottom and not being able to be flushed out?
lol So ill show a video of the "sludge" that they are talking about. It does break things down but it does NOT stick like a sludge. I have from the very first test the same bottles and they sit in a cabinet weeks on end I show the class and simply move the bottle and all the left over matter simply moves....not sludgy at all, sludge might occur based on YOUR specific "Experts" bought a sprayer and offer professional cleaning and thats their expertise. How to stick a hose up your black tank and get the stuff out. Not saying thats not a great profession and not needed. As a matter of fact I have my rv from time to time. Not for the biomass but for the struvite build up from all the different minerals that interact and create a hard chalky substance on the tanks.
Unfortunately, there is no other way for me to keep my refrigerator in freezer cold while on a long trip other than to run it on propane.
So far I have found out that I need a minimum of 6-8 panels in order to keep things topped up. I also use BMS agm batteries because they're half the cost and work great for long draw
I like the rv digest it because I can get it in a powdered form, I live in the north and am too lazy to bring the fluid bottle inside over winter
I haven't used anything in our 2023 Airstream Classic since I bought it in November of 2022. The key is to start with a couple of gallons of water and don't be shy to use lots of water. I also use the same toilet paper I use at home. Then do a good cleaning of the tank before storage. My tanks sensors are still accurate too. I guess if you are a boon docker you might need to use one of these chemicals.
If I’m not mistaken, don’t RV ACs use the condensate produced from dehumidification to splash the condenser like window units do?
👍👍👍👍👍
Love Liquified. What is your thought on the "GEO" method? I use both, swapping between dumps.
Well ain't that some chit😄
Thanks for all of your videos, and especially this side-by-side comparison. In the future, please consider including a control. In this case, the control would be plain water.
Todd, I can just see you with only one sheet of toilet paper after eating Mexican 😂😂😂
You just gotta love the sound effects 😂
I like the thought of 2 minute tech tip Tuesday…. Not sure I like it took 12 minutes
Thanks for the video. I understand using dog food is convenient but I don't think it represents at all the size of poop for most of us. Folks can see one product does a better job of breaking down solids but should probably keep in mind both of these products aren't going to break down most poop like it does the dog food.
Good test!
I installed a macerator toilet!
When I think of poop, I think of Todd:) Good Job! I've been using Liquified since last year and no complaints, the dispenser bottle is very convenient which is a big plus. Appreciate you Todd, this has got to be one of your least favorite subjects, but you handle it well.
I have been thinking about these comparison tests and wonder what a soft wet food (farmer dog or fresh pet) results look like
Was this video on the other channel a while back? I started with the RV Digest it. Saw your video with just the RV Digest it. Saw what was either this video or something extremely close to it. So I tried liquified. As you pointed out , not all poo is the same. Due to diet and all. I went back to the RV Digest it because in my case it controlled the odor better than liquified. My tank always empties with little to no waste left.
We use Digest It+. For the first time our tank indicators actually show empty after dumping. No issue with smell as yet. However, due to your testing, I don't believe I would hesitate using either. Thank you, Todd!
I took advantage of the liquefied special offer on RV unplugged buy one get one free. I’ve just started to use it but so far I’m very pleased with it. It does exactly what they claim it does.
