I enjoyed your video. I recognized where you were. In fact , I was there two days ago. I had visited another mine in that same area and was hiking towards the mine in your video, but it got too close to sunset, so I turned back. The scenery in the area is stunning. Do you know if the mine adits in your video are still open? Also , did you leave your vehicle parked on Moraine and hike all the way?
Thanks for watching. I have not been back since I did this video but I assume they are still open but probably full of water and partially blocked by debris. We walked in from Moraine. It’s pretty rough as you get closer to the lake.
Wish I had a drone back in the 80s , but glad you filmed, editing, was like that 😅
@@CurtisCallahan-jr1me thanks for watching! It would be interesting to see how the river has changed since the 80’s!
Hoi Sjoerd, Ik wil deze tocht ook gaan maken, heb je advies voor mij?

Fantastic trip, lucky you! Thanks!

Some real paddling lessons would go a long way.
Loved your snake river video. Am hoping to do soon could you share a good resource of maps and river guides or any other info on this route. Thanks
Thanks for watching. We recommend getting a copy of Wild Rivers of the Yukon's Peel Watershed by Juri Peepre & Sarah Locke. It gives a good description of the sections of river and points of interest. We used that and added points of interest to CalTopo maps.
Great edit and I enjoyed your drone footage and camera angles especially. I’ve always been nervous about making my videos longer than 15 mins or so because I figured people wouldn’t watch it all but I’ve been wanting to do a longer more documentary style video for my northern trips. Maybe next time. We paddled the Bonnet Plume last summer and when we passed the Snake confluence, it was 1/3 of the volume you guys had. Everytime I hear of people’s Snake River trip, they complain of low water. Goes to show annual variability up there. Cheers and good luck on future trips.
Thanks! Lots of people seem to enjoy the longer more detailed videos. It’s a challenge keeping things charged up and running in the varied weather on those trips and the editing time is significant. We saw some videos of some folks that did the snake only a few days after us and the conditions changed considerably. On the plus side we weren’t running into shallow boulder gardens on this run. Thanks for watching. We have seen quite a few of your videos before while researching potential future trips. Great job!
I watched Xander’s video of this trip also and really enjoyed it . Almost didn’t watch this because I had just watched that but this was completely different so I enjoyed it too .
Thanks for watching. I enjoyed watching his run too. Going solo would be quite a bit of a different experience.
What a great experience in Canadian wilderness and nice team work.
Thanks for watching!
I paused at 45:12 because the Dall Sheep video is some of the best video I have ever seen. Just extraordinary! Kudos to your group.
Thanks, it was a very cool experience paddling by that herd.

Thanks for the sub!
Looks like an awesome trip.

Why doesnt any of the you tubers that do this kinda of trips wver bring a gold pan. I personally think it would make for good content
I think I’ve seen a few videos of people panning on canoe trips like Jim Baird but I think there’s certain rules about where you can pan recreationally.

Stunning stunning stunning…….. great canoe save guys, so well done, had to have been a great time together with amazing friends..
Just found your channel and loved this video, look forward to going back and watching your other ones.
Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed this one!
We watched this from front to back in one sitting - fabulous trip, guys! The camera work is lovely and you got some breathtaking shots. Loved how you shook off the first soaking and blasted through the rest of the river like champs. Well done - you continue to push us to book our own trip to the mighty Yukon Territory!
Thanks! The spill definitely shook our confidence but no choice but to keep paddling! We saw you guys did some whitewater recently too. Lots of time to get a Yukon trip lined up for next season !
To answer the most important question, Fern Gully is the best 90s action movie. No! The Secret of Nimh.
I just watched Zander Budnick do the exact trip solo. I like your coverage - good job, most enjoyable 😊

Why doesn’t anyone talk about the beautiful planes they are flying on ? Fantastic otters. Along with the beaver best bush planes ever made.
They really are beautiful planes! Thanks for watching.
Great video. Doesn’t look like you’re starving. 😂

@@terapr0 have an awesome trip!
We're doing this trip in a few weeks, with out two kids (aged 14 and 16.) Wondering if you would recommend bringing hip waders? Also, what time of year did you do the trip?
Hi there. We did not have dry suits or padding pants (wouldn’t recommend hip waders) but they would have been helpful in the creek section at the start and if it was cool and rainy. We went at the start of July and it was very hot. The water is still very cold so it’s something you might want to consider. Definitely recommend neoprene socks at a minimum.
@@tailwindsnorth Thank you so much for your reply! Much appreciated and super helpful!
SUCH an epic trailer!! Wow so well done!!!
Thanks! Hope your adventures are going well so far this year !
@@tailwindsnorth Just got back from Wabakimi solo 13 days, was intense!! Snake is on my wish list!!!!!!!
@EzeAdventurer thats awesome. Wabakimi is beautiful. Hope the fishing was good up there!
It has been almost 30 years since I last did this trip.
You are quite talented. Surely the feature length will be as interesting and beautiful.
Thanks!
Where was this? General area… I’m not looking for you to give away your favourites. As a solo middle-aged female camper I get “bad vibes” about almost every Crown Land spot I’ve ever scoped out.
Hi there. North of Cartier is the general area. We have done a few routes out that way (mostly in spring) and once you get off the lakes by the highway there wasn’t much sign of other campers. We usually scour the maps to look for areas to get into the interior and usually there are old portage trails.
@@tailwindsnorth Great! Thanks - I’m familiar with the general area (daughter lives in Sudbury). I’ll pull my maps out! We are always looking for somewhere safe and away from partiers.
Hi!! We are planning on doing Faro to Pelly Crossing but in 5 days! Do you think it’s possible?
Hi there. We did faro to Pelly in 10 days I believe and we had 2 rest days in there and spent a fair bit of time fishing along the way. It’s probably doable but you might have some pretty long paddling days.
Hi where'd you get your bug tent; thats a nice bug tent
I just got it from Amazon a few years ago but there’s lots of places you can find it. It’s called Eureka No Bug Zone.
at the 17min mark, i was just like "wow, shit!!" That was a beautiful view!!
Why are you fishing if you ain't keeping them and eating them
Brings back some great memories! I made several trips to fish Kipawa back in the '60s. Our first trip was hosted by Pat Bouchellet who then owned 3 Season's Camp. Later his son Jerry took over and hosted us on 3 more trips
Thanks for sharing. That is awesome! It is a nice camp and the current owners are doing lots of work and upgrades. Very nice area.
Really cool to see some Kipawa content. Im heading out there for a 10 day trip later this summer
Thanks for watching. All the best on your trip out there!
when do the black flies lessen
It depends on the area and the type of spring we have but usually they come out a few weeks after the ice is gone (blackflies breed in fresh/moving water). Generally they are bad for a few weeks in mid-late May in Ontario and southern Quebec and are mostly gone by mid-June.
The safety chain "fell off" eh?? 🧐 As a trucker I've never seen or heard of that happening... Forgetting to hook it up on the other hand... 😂 Awesome fish! I gotta explore more Quebec!
Awesome! I head to the Kipawa area for a big trip in August. Jealous of the fish - just say'n.
Thanks Kevin! I’m sure you will get into some good fishing there. I’ve heard there’s some big ones in Kipawa.
Super adventure, beautiful place and WOW those fish!! Not jealous at all, seriously, healthily happy for you catching those monster trout.... 🙂 (Fish envy!!) Congrats guys 💙
Thanks for watching. Hope you’ve got some good adventures coming up!
Blue is the worst colour to wear in mosquito and black fly country.
Is it?! I’ll take this into account & test it… non-seriously. I don’t want any hater comments 😬😆
I've heard it was a bad one I'm not sure if it's worse than black, but they say white is ideal or light tan if you don't like the stains.
Agreed studies showed blue is a magnet for black flies. Crazy how outdoor clothing companies have these colours. Tan, olive drab, light brown is superior.
@@Naughtz I always wear khaki or tan or olive drab and it works.
@conifergreen2 same man. My wife on a spring canoe trip wore a blue jacket and got destroyed. I was wearing my tan gear and not even close to as many bugs around me going through the bogs. I swear by it. Articles written all over about wearing light natural colours. Also easier to spot ticks on a light natural colour, better blending into the wilderness the list goes on.
Loved the opening map, Such a great idea! Enjoying all the Laker action. Hope you don't mind me asking but what drone are you running and what battery system are you using to charge it? Thanks for posting Cheers!
Thanks! We are using the DJI mini 3 pro. We bring 3 batteries (two are the larger capacity) and charge them up with smaller sized battery banks. It seems to work well even on longer trips.
You can't use a drone for trolling Tyler🤣
