I saw Electric Hot Tuna there. We sat at a picnic table, in front of the stage, and passed a bag of mescaline around the table. Right before the show, we were carded, and kicked out because we were 19-20 year olds. It took us about half an hour tok get back in with a shared fake ID. They just wanted us out of the front of the stage. Great show! I remember the swimming pool was filled with beer cans instead of water.

"The Acid Dub "Psy Dub" album attempts to share through imagery the black experience around the world." I'm not sure what that means. What exactly is “the black experience” supposed to be? A child who digs cobalt under duress for a pittance in the mines of Congo certainly has a different perspective than a black man in a French banliue, who in turn has a different experience than a black man in Chicago or in Johannesburg or in Switzerland. Even within a country, not all people of the same skin color share the same experiences - a black person in London could be a politician, a brain surgeon, a lawyer, a construction worker, a bus driver or a member of a drill gang and in each of these cases his experience would be different.

Here in Houston a film maker made a documentary about an iconic night club called Numbers which took years to make and when it was finished, they showed it on 2 nights at the club. It could not be shown commercially because they could not get film rights to show the performances featured in the film from the bands or their labels (or whoever holds the power there). I don't think they could even show it for free either for the same legal reasons. They showed it under the radar so to speak. So good luck with your film.

Jesus!!! I decided to Google Captain Whizzo and , BANG!, this came up. I played the Chateau many times with my old band Country Weather and the Captain was always a delight, a wonderful guy, a super nice fellow and, as has many others have said here, a true talent. Lovely person. But is that AI narration in the middle? It does not befit the Captain! He deserves an actual human being telling his tale.

I was raised at the end of Jarvis Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains, there are hundreds of old abandoned homes in the Santa Cruz Mountains. My parents property bordered the old Girl Scout Camp up Old San Jose road. Be careful lots a drug farms in the area and they are protected by the Mexican Mafia.

When i die, i think that will be heaven. But remembering back, there was alot of good guitar pickers just hanging out. Jingle Jim, Marty Star and Kip. I still have old reel to reels tapes that Whizzo and I recorded back them. There were nights we'd sit around at Whizzo's cabin and be picking guitar with the Angles. dunking beer and picking out the blues. And always a good time when the Tubes played.

Memories for sure. I worked at KOME during that period and loved going to the Chateau, the Doobies home base at that time. Pat wrote a number of songs about that place.

I loved going there when I was younger...Neil's Fandango by the Doobie Brothers..Loma Prieta my mountain home the hills above Santa Cruz the place where I spent my youth...

This is fabulous! Steven Seaweed was my colleague at The Bone radio later in my career. I lived in Santa Cruz from the 70's to late 80's, and I remember Chateau Liberte and all the great music, or do I???lol.

For the creators - it would be helpful to add who is speaking. Not everyone knows who everyone is. Wizzo was my Godfather and my dad worked there for a time. Great to have visuals to all of the stories!
