Nicely done ABD. I used a cheap clear once and it bubbled with a small gas spill. Lesson learned. Side covers next ?

Those little black handled screwdrivers were in virtually all car and bike tool kits, the manufacturer must have made a fortune from them. :-) Just a technical point - one of the bits is Phillips head, the other, the blunter one, is a Posidrive bit. Those slip joint pliers are one of the handiest tools ever invented. Nice to see a tool kit still intact after all those years.

I remember when every bike came with a basic (virtually useless) toolkit. But it was sometimes enough to get you out of trouble. Now they are an option. My 2023 R1250 GS came with 3 tools and they virtually cover about 3/4 of the fasteneras on the bike.

Morning mate ! Those mirrors really are bad and I don't mean as in "bad to the bone" 😂 Definitely bin those asap 😱 As others have mentioned, the fuel system needs to be in good condition and squeaky clean. Then I reckon she'll fire up okay. Not much in the way of electrics to stop it, is there ? Once it's running you'll soon find out if the engine is still good or needs a rebuild. Good luck with it mate. I'm sure that with Buddy's help, you'll be out cruising on her in no time. Cheers youz twoz us twoz.

Simple honest and direct . with a healthy dose of respect . A junior high friend's dad was unpacking his garage of post WW2 toys brought home from Europe in the late forty's and I volunteered my curiosity . . . as help . A fully faired and bagged Vincent . It had mechanical brakes so it didn't need hydrolics flushed or new hoses as yours surly doea . He put roofing nails in both fuel tanks and my job was rocking those tanks until any traces of rust were gone . He moves to the carberation cleaning those up . Primary Transmission and crankcase therrolly flushed clean with decile until clean . A new battery and kicked it over after both carbs primed . I was glad it fired on the third kick because nine hundred CC with no compression releace is toughf on a fifteen year old . At just under five thousand miles on the clock he quickly sold it for four hundred dollars in 1964 . A weeks pay to a happy customer and one I missed that I'll never forget ! T/C/E

You have time for a project ??? Blimey. Definitive proof that I must be getting my life wrong !!! Good choice of project bike though.
