I guess it depends on the year you’re looking at. 03+ is my personal preference. 03/04 are the most desirable. Intake manifold are a common failure. Check the idle hours of it’s a 06+ P71 the lower the hours the better. Timing chain rattle is also common on the 4.6, especially the P71 with high hours. Transmission should be smooth, make sure it goes in to head almost immediately after putting the shifter in place.

@@neverendingcarproject let me tell ya it isnt easy... The key to make good PROJECT content ( with a car ) is. Do Not talk about the car UNTIL you have 75% of the parts THEN show the car and tell plan...... 2ns we suppose to film 5 months ahead most content ( or car content ) guys have 6 months of content delay looking like they are doing it right now... They never say the date or time... Also they have a crew of 2 or 3 to make things move forward... What you and I are doing is Car Vlogging ( sad to say ) Have to switch that to a show that can be re-watched... what is your most watched video?

Thanks! The real point is the output on the transmission is a flange vs slip yoke. So many people go out and buy 05+ tr3650 transmission only to learn they don’t work without a lot more work

This is 100% true! The thunderbird guys go through the same thing. The shifter on the 05 and up lands in the right place but you pay extra for the two piece shaft

@@williamm8598 anything is possible with time and money. I’m very happy with the solid rear axle. Just explaining why it’s more difficult to swap a later 3650 transmission into these. Many people purchase the wrong one.
