Manasquan Inlet historical sand shoaling 8-10-24
A very rare "Sand Shoaling" event occurred in the Manasquan Inlet that resides between the towns of Manasquan and Point Pleasant New Jersey. This occurred in August of 2024 Which created a very dangerous condition for all fishing vessels and marine traffic traveling in and out of the inlet for summer boating activities. The Army Corp of Engineers took on the task to correct and dredge part of the inlet to bring it back to the way it was before. "This has never happened before" according to locals that have lived here for over 30 years. It would be interesting to find out what the root cause of this phenomenon is. #armycorpofengineers

    Why would you remove and destroy a wired system? For a more "modern", wireless system? 😂 Wired will always be more secure and more reliable. Wireless is a lazier way of doing things thats why installers will push that on you

    • @scottmaasmedia
      @scottmaasmedia 2 месяца назад

      It's actually a personal preference. For me it was the age of the existing system and specific issues I had with it. I never said wired systems are bad. • @scottmaasmedia
      @scottmaasmedia 3 месяца назад

      Hi Oscar. Thank you so much for your question. Good question. Every structure including your house settles when it is first built, or even after a super storm natural event. Although the range of settlement for your house is not monitored during the build, the settlement for all newer commercial construction (especially embankments) are continuously being monitored by strategically placed prism sensors. If an anomaly occurs outside of the allowable range, it is immediately addressed with the Engineering teams, mitigated, recorded and corrected. I hope that helps answer your question. Working on the next video soon. Stay safe!

    Good video, Scott. If my condensate line had that much exposed drain line, I would have installed a pvc ball valve before the tee fitting and then put a garden hose connector and a cap for that in the other port of the tee. This would allow you to connect a garden hose to pressure flush the line. Just remember to close the ball valve before flushing and open it when you are done.

    I am in the UK about to move into a home from the 1970s, I just wanted to ask, A does every alarm come with an alarm box, and B do you have a bell box outside your house?

    • @scottmaasmedia
      @scottmaasmedia 5 месяцев назад

      I did not have a bell box outside the house. The system shown in the video was from the early 2000's. The older alarms had a similar alarm box. Outside alarm boxes were mostly on commercial accounts back in the day. But I do remember seeing some outside alarm boxes on residential homes built back in the 70's. Today, there are more sensor silent alarms that automatically get sent to the Police Department or Alarm call center. Best of luck with the move!

    • @scottmaasmedia
      @scottmaasmedia 7 месяцев назад

      Hi Daphne, thank you for your question and you are welcome! As far as the WHY? One, they are not powered so they don't cause any safety issue. Two, they are sealed and to get them out wouldn't be hard, it's just a project for another day. Three, when you remove them there will be an open hole in the wall that needs to be spackled, sanded and painted. But the MAIN reason was, we were having a new door and frame installed and it just wasn't necessary. Hope that helps. :)

      @@nolantherailfan5048is there a website tracking the Susquehanna Bridge replacement? That is another urgently needed bridge replacement. It really bothers me that our politicians wait until our infrastructure is 100+ years old before taking steps to replace. We are lucky some of these bridges haven't collapsed!!!
