Let me explain... I've been lying to you!
It sure SUCKS working alone.Good Luck on your build!!!😅
Why don’t you just make the sway at adjustable! Like a modified and our street stock or sportsman cars
I could put it on lollipops but they don’t allow them to be adjusted with the mounts, only at the lower control arm, so I just put stock type mounts on it
@@BrentGleason ok I didn’t know what the rules were. Around here no one uses stock mounts unless you are in the factory stock
When are you hopping to race at Stafford
This friday
they opened up the rules with the transmissions to be any 3 speed now for future reference because the 1.5 are getting hard to find. i assume your running 4.56 in 3rd so second doesn't really matter for you either
Of course they do it AFTER i buy all the stuff to convert 3 transmissions over😂
Nice car, rat ass body. I know, it’ll get messed up any way, just sayin.
Will be watching at Stafford. Lots of great information
I am not in the minority, despite what other people think, but me personally, i will never put holes in the door plates. Some series require it, but most weekly tracks do not. They can still get you out of the car quickly, holes or no holes. i prefer to keep the safety of the door plates preventing intrusion of bumper bars, nerf bars, ect.. ect.. Most of the cars i see at Stafford have no holes..
I was told by a friend and fellow competitor that his car got checked, and its in the rule book, so I did it.
Get out the drill, loose some weight.
The holes in the door plate are for the jaws of life to be able to cut the door bar section out if the emergency crew needs to access the inside and get the driver out. Good thing to do no matter if your rules require it or not.
If i junk this new car that bad, just leave me in it😂
@@BrentGleason 😂😂
Car is looking good brother. Hope she handles better than the last car. What did you name her? I named my latemodel Shirley Gene.
Naming it will depend on if shes a winner or not😂
@@BrentGleason name her Rose. She can be that chick from titanic or the slut from the pool hall.
Where are you located ?
Connecticut
Great job, looking forward to next weeks video. I remember doing this when I raced in Jacksonville Florida, I had no help and no garage and I was in the Navy. Keep plugin away at it and good luck.
Great work, great entertainment. Your on my weekly watch list and enjoy spending an hour or so with you each week as part of my racing fix! Keep em coming Brent.
Awesome, thank you!
Your videos are awesome! You got her looking good and got to be getting excited to take her out!
Same here, its getting real, the time crunch is really putting a damper on the enthusiasm, but still exciting
Red Starburst are the best. I often find that a bag of peanut M&M's and a beer is a good lunch or dinner when I'm working on my racecar.
For sure, unfortunately yellow was all I had🤷🏻♂️
nice job ..car looks good cant wait to see it rip around stafford ..
They do make it in 2 pieces now
For sure, AFTER i bought one, which was a while ago😂
👍! 👌!
love the roof mounted switches looks like its straight out of a batmobile hop you can come race the car at stafford before the end of the year
Great work! Can't wait to see you race!
I give you a ton of credit for putting a race car together by yourself I know how much work it is if I still lived in ct I would love to come over and help
It’s cathartic, for sure
What number are you going to run??
I will be running the family number, #81
What bodie u putting on it
I've said it before, and once again - I'm proud of you! You're doing a great job, and the more I see, the more I'm impressed! Your dad would be SO proud of you, your ability and dedication is a testament to him. I can't wait to see this car in action!
Awesome job, hell of a lot of work for one man, best of luck!
Remember when Hot Rod TV made us believe you could build a race car in a 30 min episode? 😂
Definitely not possible😂
Great info.. makes me appreciate working on a sprintcar! Lol
Weld a piece of tubing off your down bar and bolt your pwr steering container to it
How much for your old car I’d line to possibly buy it for the right price of course ??
Take advantage of being able to run a better lower while u can !!
Capital Motorsports has everything you need to put that car together just so you know.
For sure, and their shipping is super fast to where I am, but some things are cheaper elsewhere, and I gotta pinch pennies lately.
Racecar stuff is what im interested in. Great stuff. Sharing it to a facebook page im an admistrator of.
Awesome, thank you!
I starting to think that your trying to take all the fun out of racing! Don't eat the grease! Don't get dert it your cuts! 😂 I hope you enjoyed your vacation it sounds like you needed it!
Nice video again Brent. Kinda reminds me of a couple years ago when I hauled my boat up north from my buddies marina in Connecticut complete with a new to me used motor, outboard. Wanted to make the engine good and hear it run before mounting it on the boat. Big motor, 225 horse six cylinder two stroke. I built an engine stand, replaced head gaskets, pulled off the lower unit so I could run without smoking the impeller. Researched the wiring harness to know what I needed to run it with. Started it on the stand, great feeling. Back in the day we would run our car engines, pour automatic transmission fluid down the carburetor while running to clean out the carbon deposits. Marvel mystery oil is a lot like tranny fluid. Great cleaning agents! Keep em coming my friend!
Get your boy out there man and spending some quality time w/ dad.. Reach em some racecar stuff but he could be bleeding those masters for ya . Etc
Put a 81 corvette aluminum water pump on that thing and save u like 6-7# off the nose. Also CTS warehouse sells a 2.5# crate dampener that really wakes a sealed crate up.. Also can get set of better valvesprings that they will never know have been changed!! Brezinski heads sells crate under cover ported heads and cam that adds Like 35 hp kinda pricey $3500 but is undetectable and big gains over the the rest of the dummies
Literally all of that is outright cheating, with my rulebook😂
Faaaaannnntaasssssticcc🎉🎉 great Job Brent Gkeason suuuuppper Geinouusss. 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Great stuff...wouldnt have thought if it. With the title of video i thought you were going to cheat the crate seals. Keep the racing stuff!
I surely would be. Brezinski heads has a 35 hp kit 😉
There is another way besides air
Nice work Brent! You answered a question I wanted to ask, if you were trying to get a race in with the new ride this season. Keep on chugging dude, can't wait to see your results!
Yeah Buddy “out w/ the old in w/ the new”
When you feel like it never end remember that fast food isn't good and good food isn't fast! Enjoy the elephant! You might not get another one! I can't speak for everyone but I like seeing you take the time to plan your car out and not just though it together!
Hope you can get back to the long format videos eventually. I enjoy working on or sitting in my race car and smoking cigars and watching your videos!
Doesn't seem like the chassis builder completed his work
He did exactly what I asked him to do🤷🏻♂️
A set of Schoenfeld 195v-3 and a pair of mandrel bends to turn the exhaust under the car and towards the back may fit that front loop and your rules. I think I used 80° bends. They clear the mid mounts ,starter, and oil filter.
I’d love to but I can only use the headers they have listed in the rules, which is what I have.
You way over thing shit don’t ya .. ??
In my latemodel to center and level the engine I used a digital level from the lifting plate front and back side to side. then measured from the right frame rail to the center of the crank and the center of the transmission output shaft to the right frame rail. It's easier with 2 people so one can measure up top and one can measure underneath. Pain in the neck but you don't want anything binding.
"to try to get 6" probably all the way around". 😂. THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!
You can use two ratchet straps to hold up your transmission and they are adjustable? Before you paint I would go over it from front to back and make sure all the welds look good! Just so you can say you looked at it! I hope you feel better soon! Slow and steady wins the race and stops ya from putting something together wrong if you're anything like me😂 squirrel!!!
Are you going to paint the chassis after you get it all mocked up
Yes, just fitting the last few things before we paint it
Just found your channel big fans of racing and we subscribed
