Iron Horse Rambles (6.22.24) – New Nesquehoning Station
After all the anticipation and preparation to get our new Nesquehoning passenger station ready for an Iron Horse Ramble on June 22nd, we are pleased to announce that we had a day for the history books!
Thank you to everyone who came to ride, chase, browse the new Black Diamond Company Store, or simply stop by to view the 2102. Your enthusiasm and support mean so much to us!
Speaking of enthusiasm, this video hopefully highlights the passion and care that RBMN workers have on duty. A passion that hopefully carries over to our riders and railfans. The energetic tone of one of our star narrators (Russ Scianna Jr.) and the positivity as well as the attention to detail expressed by our in-house...

Construction Time Lapse: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Regional Railroad
The yellow sunshine is back wow 2102 🖤🖤💛💛💛😊
I think the two gons are now the last two LGSR Blue painted cars
This trip with my family of 6 was a waste of a day. The town felt like a gohst town although very pretty, it was 90 degrees so we purchased the open view glass tickets but the entire ride we didnt see any great views. The waterfall was lame and it was hot inside. Half the passengers were bored and slept. I recommend doing the rafting trip instead on a dam release, youll get much better views. If you want to doubke check my review go to google or yelp and check lowest score.
Really cool!!
Need to bike that one of these days. Have been on the bike train several times, but always as a round trip ticket holder. If you're interested in the history of Penn Haven Jct (Independence) look up Lehighton native Ron Rabenold's Cultured Carbon County. There's a great article about the family that lived there.
17:12 But aren't there times the train doesn't turn around at the switch track and just reverses direction?
Cool!
Thanks for the report Jamie! Right, "She'll be done when she's done." As the R&N's a working railroad I'd have to assume the 425's being rehabbed on a "time available" basis. She'll run again, she's too good to be left in a shed as a monument, her fans just have to be patient. You know, some might want 425 redone in a black paint job but personally I like the Blue Comet inspired paint scheme!
Well said, that about sums it up.
@@RBMN Thanks for the kind words!
Looking forward to riding
Congratulations on your job well done and all of RBMN people was on PTJT train car KING COAL.
Thank you!
Yep! Saw her that day in Jim Thorpe! You Guys Really Know How To Bring The Full Experience of Steam!
Thank you! We try to make it a great experience for everyone!
Jamie, I've noticed that the consist has dropped from 19 cars to 15 (including the HEP car). Is there a reason for that? I remember when Andy easily sold out the 18 cars. Thanks, Bill Stephens
We had to save some for the Lehigh Gorge train and our new excursion train from Pittston!
@@RBMN- Andy has to spend a little more money on more cars! 😉
BLUE MOUNTAIN QUALITY
John(RBMN 425):I Wish that I Could Be Done With This Inspection Test So I Can Run Again
the reading and northern 2102 looks good still on the route with nice sky without clouds, same with 425 and other trains
will the switches on either end be signalled eventually?
Very cool. Question, do your social media pages block people?
Hey RBMN! Great Update On The New Station! And You Guys Are Re-writing your old theme song from Charles Adams?! Cool! Love that song from when you guys were the Blue Mountain Reading Line!
We just might do that. We had our original Blue Mountain & Reading theme rewritten and re-recorded for Outer Station. Maybe Nesquehoning will be next!
Awesome progress ❤
It is coming along nicely. We will be running passenger trains out of there very soon!
Are you ever going to upload the intro song in full?
We could, but it would not make total sense here because the full song mentions Reading Outer Station. Maybe we will have it re-written for Nesquehoning!
@RBMN could we maybe have both song versions then? Only if possible of course.
I didn't know Jamie worked for the railroad
Tłumaczenie tekstu za pomocą aparatu I have a question, how are you working on 425 because it's a bit boring on RUclips without this steam locomotive and I'm sad that I've never seen it live and I feel such nostalgia that the first 425 films are from 2008 and I was born in 2008 and so I'm a little sad that my, so to speak, Beloved reading & northern 425, a little bit, when I found out that it's going to be released in 2022, that's how I'll put it, modernization, when I saw the movie, when you took it apart, I admit, I cried because it's my favorite, I hope that You are working hard on it and I hope that one day I will be able to see your work, i.e. 425 live :D
Have no fear, you will see #425 again! It just takes a lot of meticulous work to ensure that a steam engine is functioning properly.
I’m super excited for the ramble to Tunkhannock! Already got my calendar marked for that day so I could see 2102 in person for the first time. I’m so excited for you guys! Hope everything goes well.
RBMN does such an excellent job taking care of their steam engines. I am so excited to see the 425 when it’s all done after overhaul. Well done to the RBMN for doing such good work on her
We take meticulous care of our steam engines; hence we are not setting a timeline on when #425 will be ready. We will post the news immediately on our website when the work is done!
@@RBMN awesome, Keep up the great work!
What is the heritage of 2102 ?
It was built in the Reading Company shops in 1945. It is actually a conversion of their I-10SA class 2-8-0 consolidation #2044.
I really did not know Prince was supposed to take ownership of Lamberts Point! The more you know!
True story. There are countless more stories that our vintage equipment could tell!
The reading and northern 2102 look amazing me soo interesing how he look on duel on 425 in 2028 or 2027
We hope to have #425 back sooner than 2027 or 2028... stay tuned!
@@RBMN😁😁😁😁
Heading up to Jim Thorpe to see 2102’s first train of 2024.
We'll be there! Catch the F-units on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway train while you are in town!
The fat beast is now awaken 💯💪
Nicely done on 425, she'll now run while 2102 is in operation now.
We ran them together in 2022, we are hoping to be able to do it again!
I wish they could add more tickets for Port Clinton.
Unfortunately we are restricted by the relatively small size of the station platform at Port Clinton and can only load two cars at the most there. Reading is only about 20 minutes from Port Clinton, plus you get the full ride from there!
She has such a beautiful whistle and I'm in love with that stack talk. A graceful lady, indeed!😊
Come ride or chase one of our Iron Horse Ramble trips, you will hear a lot more of it!
How's 425's inspection going is she going to be able to run again?
It will be able to run again, but the mandatory rebuild is a painstaking process that we want to ensure is done correctly. It will be back before you know it!
Andy definitely had the best seat in the house for going backwards. I’m sure the deck of the Black Diamond is a better seat during excursions.
It definitely is... but when your model railroad is 12 inches to the foot scale, you call the shots!
425 bouta return soon right?
We are hoping to have #425 back next year. Stay tuned for updates!
@@RBMN yipee
Wow 😮
She’s back 💛💛🖤🖤
Back for a third straight year of Rambles! We are as excited as you are!
She looks great in either direction. Beautiful. Engine ❤️🌹
Glad you think so!
Andy sure is living the life.
So excited to ride the Iron Horse Ramble on June 22nd from Nesquehoning to Tunkhannock in the Salisbury Beach. This summer it’s going to be officially “1 YEAR” since I did an article on the Parlor Car during last year’s Iron Horse Ramble on July 1st to feature in my live steam club’s “Pennsylvania Live Steamers” gazette and made sure to share my article with the railroad once it got published. Last year was such a great experience because the Parlor Car was in between Andy’s private cars the Black Diamond and Glen Onoko Falls. Getting to walk through the Glen Onoko Falls in order to enter the Parlor Car was a bonus even though I didn’t get to actually ride in Glen Onoko Falls but walking through it for the first still made my day even more memorable because it’s not every day that you get offered an opportunity to see the inside of a private car. Huge thanks to the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern railroad who really appreciated my article on the Parlor Car! My Dad and I are looking forward to our ride on June 22nd in the new Salisbury Beach while riding behind 2102 out of the new Nesquehoning Campus station. See you on June 22nd!🚂😊
We look forward to seeing you! That ride up through the Lehigh Gorge is going to be EPIC.
Maybe the R&N can do caboose hop Railfan excursions with a lineup of cabooses in the future!
We do have several cabooses, that may happen down the road!
That is so cool!
Thank you!
