Hahaha glad you enjoyed it, because the build-up was funny - but we made it! What aided in keeping the friendship aspect of our relationship the main thing was that we lived far from our parents and that meant they weren't as active in our day-to-day lives as may be the case with someone else. So in that sense we didn't need to put in a lot of effort to hide, it just worked out that way. If the circumstances were different, maybe we would have spoken sooner. So unfortunately I can't contribute to listing any challenges. As mentioned in the video and a previous answer to a comment, if the dynamics allow for you to talk to your parents about it, then perhaps respectfully engage them in the topic. But if it is a sore topic, I will add to please have GOOD, WISE COMMUNITY/COUNSEL to walk and pray with you about things. Lol there were some feelings of awkwardness but mainly from my side. The parents were pretty comfortable with having me around and we spoke and laughed freely. I was the one trying to make sure that I respect them fully and on my best behaviour. Didn't want them thinking I was from a wretched home 😅 Hope that helps :)

That’s a really good question, and thank you got asking this. Without giving you an extremely long answer, I would need to acknowledge that my children are growing individuals - young adults. If they don’t have this conversation in a safe space with me, as their parent, they will end up learning unhealthy and hurtful things outside of their safe space. This is definitely something worth unpacking in the next episode, though 😊

Definitely valid points, and doesn’t mean the conversation should be avoided. But I have noticed that our parents were not taught to navigate difficult conversations in a good way - hopefully we get to show them how to have difficult conversations in a loving way, as we grow older

😂my sister, it’s time for those conversations to be had. Keep dropping them, once in a while😂🙌. But I also understand that in an effort of trying to protect us as their girl children, our parents find it hard to accept this reality, the older we get.
