Which is a parallel to the historical plot line with the witch hunters and the church. The Talamasca have been involved with the Mayfairs long before Carlotta. She didn’t get them to help fix any adoption because she just gave her to their cousin Ellie and told her to change her name and disappear. Then Carlotta told everyone Rowan was dead. Plus Carlotta in the books at least worked in the legal field and could have forged papers herself. The Talamasca have just been tracking the family for decades and decades probably more like centuries. They would know more if Carlotta were working with them because she would have told them stuff about Lasher and they barely knew anything because they have only ever been observing from afar.
