My 12 year old Maltese poodle mix will likely need this sx. She’s almost 13 and I didn’t spay her until last year. Has had 2 litters. She’s had many fatty tumors removed and recently developed another tumor on her breast. Someone told me to look into getting her mammary glands removed as there are masses under probably half her nipples. Should I request to get all the glands removed just to be safe? Does it work like that? I mean if all the gals are there, can more masses developed if they haven’t yet? Or is it best if only the masses (under like 4 of her nipples) be removed? Also I saw you removed the huge mass, but it looked like some parts were left stuck to the subcutaneous tissue? Am I wrong? Are there risks that the mass can grow back and spread elsewhere if parts are left without being extracted? I’m so sorry for all my questions, but I just want some advice.
