Anime in 2023 (AMV)
For the past couple of years I've made AMVs looking back on the anime that came out this year as part of an awards event with my Anime Society.
I meant to post the previous two but left it too late, but I think mid February si just about okay for a 2023 look back!
If there's any weird choices of anime, blame it on ones my society voted for!

Haruhi Suzumiya - The Adventures of the ASOS Brigade - Live Action - Full
Просмотров 9 тыс.3 года назад
Between 2006 and 2011, an American live action Haruhi web series was made to promote the western release of the show. Since these videos have largely been purged from the internet and not archived, I'm uploading them here for preservation's sake, for everyone to marvel at and cringe looking back at what the mid 2000s anime fandom was like... Episodes are in the order that they were originally p...
The Lost Live Action Series of Haruhi Suzumiya
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.3 года назад
Back in late 2006 an online promotional campaign started in the US to promote the Haruhi Suzumiya anime, the Adventures of the ASOS Brigade. There was a surprisingly high amount of content, and effort put into it, but in the years since it has mostly been purged from the internet, with some of it even claimed to be Lost Media. And as such I've been on a quest to uncover what the ASOS Brigade wa...

My struggle with attempting a Pokémon Shield Nuzlocke + Speedrun

Pokémon Gen 8 certainly isn't my favourite generation, but after being issued a challenge to do a Nuzlocke as fast as possible, I gained a new appreciation for Sword/Shield. However I had to learn the speedrun as a beginner, with next to no experience, and so here I've catalogued my journey to becoming a (terrible) speedrunner. How the hell do you think SG0 is unnecessary??? It's literally the continuation of S;G, without the Deus Ex Machina. That was such a bad ending in the original for such a good story. Here, open your phone, you mailed yourself the solution from the future like wtf??? That's so bad. Just let us see how the story would happen if Okabe was never handed the solution on a silver plate

the fact they cut the committee is not a good thing, no clue why you lumped it up as a good change when talking about the SG adaptation. I had no idea S;G continues way beyond the anime and it's just a part of a way bigger conspiracy, stretching over multiple anime series, that's just a mindblow. I'm trying now to play them all before Oct 27 when they are doing the 15y SG event, where they could announce a new game. I wanna catch up to everything and experience the truth.

Steins Gate was the first anime in the SciADV series I watched and I fell in love with it after finishing all the Steins Gate seasons I dove into robotics notes and never actually realized it was in the same universe until the end, the chaos series I could never actually get into and due to me not really liking visual novel games (just not my cup of tea per say) I probably never will, but either way really informative and underrated analysis

While they have action elements, I would not describe them as action series. (The games themselves are pure visual novel through and through) being more mystery and drama focused than action. Though some routes have more action than others.

Thank you for the time and care you put into this video. Steins;Gate has always been extremely important to me but like so many others I avoided the Chaos games and Robotic;notes games. I was ALWAYS one click away from buying either of them but the highs of steins;gate series are hard to match so I always passed them up. Well....its been a long time since steins;gate and I miss the writing, charm and overall world of the series but want something new. With ANONYMOUS;CODE coming out it really made me reconsider how I feel towards the science adventure series. It seems like the entire umbrella of games are full of quality writing and interesting concepts that I'm absolutely in love with. I feel ignorant for skipping over these games for so long but I'm 10 hours into A;C already and have the Chaos double pack coming today as well. Your video really helped me get a greater idea of the series and made it a much less nebulous concept as simply seeing "science adventure" and knowing things are kinda related to s;g never really sat well with me

As an update I've finished Chaos;Head, Chaos;Child, and am about 75 percent done with Robotic;Notes. I said it before but I've been a huge fan of steins;gate for almost 10 years now and skipped over all these other entries like a fool. Head was brilliant even if the MC is a bit of a degen but holy shit Chaos;Child left me emotionally messed up for a week or two after the endings. I never thought something could reach the highs of Steins;Gate for me but Child managed to be equal to it if not surpass it in some ways. Robotic;Notes had me a little worried because everyone says how its a bit more mellow than the other games but R;N is up there for me in terms of characters, setting, and overall pace. I absolutely love the characters and as a huge fighting game enthusiast Kaitos little FGC quips tickle me in all the right spots. I genuinely love R;N in ways I didnt think I would and just finished phase 10 while taking my sweet time with it. I look forward to the sequel even if it misses the mark for so many. Once I finish DaSH Ill be done with all the mainline entries and will sadly have a giant hole in my heart but the last 4 months with this series has been an absolute pleasure and joy

Much like how Mata Nui was a remote home of the Matoran, Bionicle is the remote home for the fans to this day. We are happy there, content with the land we have and the beauty of it's ideas. To desire more than that is like that of the Makuta. Bionicle is one of those few things that achieve a cemented identity that will live on. Who knows what more will be spawned under it's far reaching canopy.

Watching this video made me realise that all these visual novels have finally got english translation and I can read them RIGHT NOW! I read Chaos;Head somewhere in 2013, the translation I had wasn't even complete, some chapters were in japanese. When Chaos;Child released I attempted to read it in original with my very limited knowledge of japanese but after spending several evenings reading text which amounts to 20-30 min of reading time I dropped the idea thinking it would be easier to wait 10 years for a translation and what do you know 10 years have passed and the translation is out, they even sell it on Steam (someone finally told the japanese publishers that it would be a good idea to sell their products outside Japan)

I really like that SciADV is set in the real world but with fictional elements that exist hidden from populace. It's a very cool setting because it makes your imagination work by presenting various funny ideas like "what if this big organisation was actually X" or "what if this problem in society was caused by Y" and it makes you ask questions and reevaluate your view on the world. I find these settings very interesting but the only settings of this kind that come to mind are World of Darkness, SciADV and Nasuverse which is a shame, there's a lot of unused potential.

Not only is it the best scidav story, it's one of the best stories I've ever experienced period.
