China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation have build the same light rail in Israel, Red Line (Tel Aviv Light Rail), Australia should import the Chinese labours to build rail way and houses.

Not to mention the option to use the “tracks” as a bus way similar to how L2 tracks are used between Moore park and Kingsford. Win win IMO

In Malaysia, they are planning not one, but *TWO* systems to use these ART model, which breaks me because one of the system in Kuching Sarawak also have future plans to... use viaducts! Crazy to think that they could have invested in trams or other light rail options, heck even a BRT system is good, yet they wanted to proceed with the ART technology that, as you have mentioned every single relevant point about it, is not viable for a long term solution. Even the leased vehicles tested publicly in another city (Putrajaya) went very bad and did not even manage to keep up with their schedule (they're just running it like once per 2 hour or so!), so what's the difference with buses? I just hope that the transport bodies and relevant parties in our countries realizes that not everything that is cheap and cool = future. It's just sad thinking about it when it could've been a much better situation and future but oh well, I guess they'll learn the hard way..

The only real option for extending the light rail is down parramatta road. Green Square has a train station already as well as bus services. Creating a new line that just continues down george street on to parramatta road to the university of Sydney is the only realistic project. Everything else is just pie in the sky stuff.

America loves long heavy freight drags. Commuter and passenger trains are money losing routes that only poor people who can't afford cars want to ride on. Passenger schedules may be light, but that's because most of the cars are empty.

Excellent video. You should put this into a PDF file and send it to the NSW Transport Minister. Estimated cost between $14 and $22 bn (mostly done by local contractors!) = LESS than the Metro West which is a huge waste of taxpayer's money for a short distance and very expensive stations in deep tunnels

Well of course you want to narrow streets, remove parking and discourage metro trains, because it boosts their monopoly over public transportation! Great self promotion, but how will trucks deliver food to supermarkets get around & park, and then where will the trucks be serviced? Out in Mt Druitt where there is no trams? Business owners and CEO’s of major companies aren’t going to use the trams to get to work. All, you want to see done is have ugly apartments, 50 stories into the sky and turn Sydney into Hong Kong! And therefore justifying more private transport operators. Sounds like an argument for self interest.

I would definitely appreciate a light rail to top Ryde, but the thing is we can if you live in Putney you catch the 507 to a place like Galesville or to the stop before crossing the road at the lights, which is Ryde, but is still very accessible from Putney because those stops take you to top Ryde, not to mention if you catch the 507 to Meadowbank, then you just catch the train to west Ryde and get the 501 or 500x to Top-Ryde from there, Putney is insanely well connected to ways to getting Ryde because of the route of the 507.

If the Parramatta Rd to Green Square light rail opens this means: Bus route 320 will be ceased Routes 438x and 461x will be changed to all stops instead of express (Leichhardt and Railway Square section) It would be either L5 or L6 (if Stage 2 of Parramatta Light Rail opens) If it extends to Burwood (or Strathfield maybe), this means that route 461x will either be ceased, or timetable reduced

Pffft. Japan has the best railway both inside and outside of Tokyo. I've been to Japan twice in 2023 & 2024, and I've experienced all levels of rail. Trams, subway, trains; Diesel and electric. I've road on every rail I could needing to get around and it's all awesome. Even Tango-Yura is high-class, and it's a rural town priding itself on KanColle's Yura light cruiser and an actual light cruiser in WW2. Japan knows how to trains, they've had a long while to perfect it. Both urban and rural are awesome. Check out all the neat train videos from Japan. Even Kyoto's train museum. They're so good that even planes are kept in check, and vice-versa. Japan is very competitive in everything making everything they own top-notch.

8:07 I reckon if the CCN continues past Central and then around the city circle and then all Airport stations to Wolli creek then Revesby, Glenfield and Campbelltown and time it to connect with the Southern highlands line would be ideal

3:07 the CCN via the North Shore are pretty much local trains if we need more local trains make the CCN trains at all stations on the North Shore instead of removing them entirely

CCN track side modifications on 11 stations for new operating model is slated for August 2-3rd, new signage and balises being moved to new locations. The inclusion of 8 car markers for NIF trains is interesting, they tested 8 car configs in 2021 so either they are future proofing for a potential 4+4 or just doing it as an optional thing. And according to railsafe notices Sydney Trains has taken over the intercity (non-booked) services from Trainlink, starting July 1st.
