When the gates are locked..
The gates to Old Jerusalem are always open. But the enter the sacred sites you need to wait they open in the morning. Holy Sepulcher for example opens at 5:30am.

@@landingmodetravelchannel An experience of a lifetime. It’s a promise to my god Lord Jesus. It took me 20 years to do that. It’s the culmination of my religion being a Catholic. It’s the epitome of my desire to see the birthplace & deathplace of my God. We follow His footsteps from the Stations of the Cross to the old city of Jerusalem. There, we went to the church of the Holy Sepulcher. There, I made a Wish. But God can only grant one of my two wishes. First I made my wish at the Wailing Wall. It was granted in one week. Hallelujah! As if God was telling me, you can only make one wish. But the very fact that I set my foot in the land of my god Lord Jesus made my life complete. My Life is done. He gave me ample time to ask for forgiveness & repent for all the sins I have committed in my life. My retirement is a promise to devote the rest of my life for Him. So help me God! 🙏

Scary? Jerusalem at night is in total peace and maybe one of the best times, where church services are held in prayerful peace. Anyone who thinks it’s scary has completely lost any sort of peace within themselves.
I wish I was brave like you. Walking at 4am by myself on those very dark streets of Old Jerusalem was scary for me.
