The reason she has became nasal is she's picking up less phsyically demanding approach as she had been suffered from nodule for many years of her career and she consitenetly has many events/festivals and tours. Several other korean vocalists are also changing their approach to light one for their health and sacrifice their openess and vowel quality a bit (like parkhyoshin taeyeon leeyounghyun etc) even though their issue and change isnt as big as Ailee's I don't know why you bring up other vocalists to compare with Ailee... but bring it up Stronger performance to compare with Kelly Clarkson is a bit weird? a. Ailee sang higher key than original and Kelly usually lowers 1-2 key in live b. She sounds almost like her debut era in the perf except there's some nasal moment in the middle but its minor and nitpicking and her C#5s and Eb5s there sound almost like 2012 Ailee. c. If her best era in terms of mix had similar quality to the perf whats the point of comparing Ailee to a vocalist who is way more developed in terms of mix?? In case of son seungyeon, her mix has been always superior to ailee so like the reason c above, I dont see the reason you bring her up and Seung yeon has way less number of schedule compared to Ailee

Also Seung yeon is more of musical actress than pop singer nowadays. Musical actor/actress are motivated to keep fuller approach and clear vowel for delivery so there's no reason she'd had that issue by going for extra lighter approach. The reason some idols(kim sejeong uji solar etc) had improvement after musical can be interpreted in that way

@aileelove1238 Yeah I mentioned Seungyeon cuz she's more of a "eggs in one basket" vocalist than a balanced one. Lara is another example or So Hyang where they don't really touch their low notes or go into runs like Ailee.

@aileelove1238 I wrote my original comment not to hate on Ailee. I actually love Ailee, but what I'm saying is she should approach her mix the way Kelly, Lara, and Seungyeon do in order to improve it better. Lara and SoHyang have a mix where they can make it as heady as they want neither of them ever lose their power. You said Ailee was using too much chest or pulling it up, but her approach is light.

Finally someone who talks about Heaven D5s! She rarely sang that D5s after 2012 but brought them out throughout the whole tour and some of the m were some of her better sustained D5s

​​@@ericly6482 Her C#5-D5 notes are usually stronger in 2023 than 2022 so its likely what you've heard but some people put more emphasis on the fact that she had more opened and consistent 4th octave belt, which is one of her strongest asset, in 2022

Imo, most of her issues starts from the fact that she relies on pushing a lot even when her coordination is light. I believe she uses that weaker coordination to save her cords or energy. She uses that approach more often in festival/events (which is less significant) than tour. Also she said that she has a vocal 'conditioner' instead of using word 'coach' around late 2020. It seems the 'vocal conditioner' focused on just easy singing by being light than actually caring for development/techinque

I'd say she's out of prime (physicial state of her vocal cords wise and frequency of vocal issues) and uses weaker coordination (in the festivals/events performances of 2023) but still maintains her ability to support as high as before and her C#5-D5s in 2023 national tour got stronger compared to 2022 but above that generally tighter compared to 2021-2022. About 2024 vocal, there are only few performances so its hard to tell or generalize anything. Like she uses chestier and bolder approach in the first two performances and latest one she came back to weaker coordination.

@@qazplmzaqmlp8658 the 'weaker coordination' mostly affects her mid belts still she has shown that she can produce midbelts that are as good like 'chesty and bold approach' of 2024 perf I mentioned. In case of HV she favors lighter coordination so less full in general and sometimes it got thinner but her best moemnts are as good and she showcased her hidden potential of 6th octave in 2023 tour even tho they are exclamation

I'm glad that you appreciate that Ice Flower C#5 :) and ye... I'm well aware of the claims made about her recently. Even tho I don't strongly disagree with their points, it seems they overgeneralize with few bad clips, which are not carefully chosen by some channel where 'vocal distortion' is preferred as a musical effect, exaggerate the issue and say as if she always sounds like that and her good moments do not exist at all. I decide not to care too much after I've realized that their perspective is quite different from KVA group but its a bit weird most of the range they give to vocalists who are previously analyzed by KVA is similar to what the group gives to those vocalists 👀👀

They're probably just one of those haters that will turn a slight off moment into something big 😬 yes, even soemtimes I worry as I never want her to regress, but I think alot of it is her using a slightly "nasal " approach to preserve her voice. Plus when shes at her concert all her skills are still present 🙌

Her HV post I'm era is lighter on average compared to 2014-2019 except for last two city of Show tok concerts(2021) held in autumn. There was some occasional falsetto-ish, raspy or thinner moments but not too often and it never happens when she sings a song like I Will Always Love You. Her nice moments are still comparable to 2014-2019 and happen pretty often so I'd say its still much or less same

Her natural voice is girly unless she wants big diva mode. Check out 'Hey Mr.big' performance.
