Jazzmaster VS Stratocaster : Which is better? | Tone and Design Comparison
Great playing man! I do loads of ‘acoustic’ gigs straight into an EV evolve 50 for voice and my acoustic’s pickups. I’ve been looking at these to maybe be able to take an electric along for a few songs, getting that fender clean sound - this about sells it, because you were nailing the thing I’d be chasing with the Hendrix-y stuff you played on the strat. Great presentation. Much appreciated 🙏🏻
Good review. I’m quite interested in a Humboldt. I think your comment on the feeling of a proper amp moving air in the room is spot on. Yes, it’s not practical, but the experience is on a different level, for sure. And that can be important for the RUclips guitarist generation to understand (and to try).
I introduced Jesus to a priest
Y’all saying y’all can’t sound like him my momma was down in Texas in the 80’s always listens to Srv gown up with her listening nonstop every time I play it’s always Srv licks and my whole family says my hands are fat as thick as sausages
They sound the same. Which is disappointing
They sound the same. Which is disappointing
Bro try the Simplifier X, it’s even better
People say the X is really good in a live situation because is 2 amps in one or one amp of 2 channels where you have e footswitch and the option of change channels , but !!! Everybody say the mrk2 sounds better 💁🏻♂️
@@argentoennythere’s also a lot more options on the Xx- which isn’t what I’d be looking for with one of these devices - but it almost makes it a totally different proposition for a guy like me :)
The guitar is great, but the drummer is messing up the flow of the rhythm of the tune with extra snare hits that don’t need to be there in the verse.
Are you seriously hating on steve jordan?
amateur comments on so many levels, Jordon is a top 5 drummer
After whatching few of these diy fretless projects, I just started to make this type of of guitar from old strat copy. I have now 11 frets left and filled those fret grooves with some 2k putty. Some people have put also 2k PU finish to the fretboard. I tried that. Its now hardening and drying. Need to find also find a way properly file down remaining frets a bit. To be honest, i feel like have no idea what im doing. Lets see how it turns out. I think your project went pretty well. And wierd finishes are always cool!
Sorry for taking a little while to get back you! How’s is it going?! I had absolutely no idea what I was doing either, I guess that’s the fun of it😆 good luck!
Try a set of GHS “Low Tune” Nickel Rockers. .011-.058
axis is my favourite hendrix album, and wait till tomorrow are my favourite lyrics. whats missing here is the expression, in hendrix version you can hear the anguish in his voice matching the lyrics. like the difference between recounting a personal event, against reciting something from someone elses experience. imo no one does Hendrix, as good as Hendrix.
Great review, but I missed something (or maybe just didn't pick up): can you plug the signal from the Simplifier straight into a speaker cabinet or do you still need an amp?
intro jam sounds like a breeeeeezzzzze @sam
Thanks so much mate, really appreciate it!!
Great video Great playing, your right ❤ 🔥
You should let him see John Mayer in colloberation with Keith Urban.
Jag man here 🥴
Great review of a great pedal-amp.
Thank you so much!
If you have to introduce your guitar teacher to John Mayer then you need a new teacher. To be that ignorant of one of the greatest guitarists ever is crazy.
But But It has a tele neck lmao 😂 😅 I can’t unsee it lmao 😂😊
😂😂 Thanks for watching !
How is he teaching guitar and he doesn't know who John Mayer is?😢
Lol. And this is the vid you wanna introduce John Mayer? I hope this is a joke coz you'll have to throw him back to when he played Neon a decade ago in a small bar with an acoustic guitar. Not to mention the live arrangement of Covered In Rain. Dude find a new teacher.
Pino in the background on bass... Nice👍
Erkenne Blew the This Teacher, don’t know about John Mayer Butter you Go Home boy
STV is his idol need I say anymore ❤❤❤
I get that he popularised the guitar in times when the guitar seemed to be forgotten, and therefore we feel to read into his playing things that are simply not there, but there is nothing there. He is a very average guitar player, which just happens to be popular. What he is doing is realistically simple, and stuff that wouldn’t even be level 1 for an average jazz player. I get that people like him and his playing, but this is just pop, and therefore inherently average. Just my two cents.
Yeah he had a conversation with Steve Jordan. And he told him something like “why play 20 notes, when you only need the 3 right notes”. And to me that’s when he really started playing less when it was called for.
Another Guitar player that is very underrated is Keith Urban he's not just a singer his playing is non to Shabby ,ruclips.net/video/NfvqVxoJIaE/видео.html
Absolutely! John and Keith’s cover of don’t let me down at crossroads is awesome! Thanks for watching! ☺️
David Bromberg does that thumb over the top thing
Great to see you're still posting and the quality of your videos is so good!
Thanks so much man, likewise!
First YT video? Man this is great, thank you!
Thanks so much man!
The Jazzmaster has so much warmer sound!
I would say Alex Turner is the only guitar/singer that is crazier than john
RIP amps. They are now officially a thing of the past.
im not gonna lie, i absolutely wasnt convinced the first few seconds of the video were live footage haha
Haha fair enough, thanks for watching anyway😆
What's that paint job on the Jazzmaster? Looks amazing.
Thanks for watching ! I was actually lucky enough to have a friend do it for me! It’s an acrylic painting which I then put a nitro lacquer over so to the touch it feels just like a normal guitar !
Subbed, with production quality like this, you're going to blow up.
Thank you so much Mate, I really appreciate it! I sure hope so! 😆
Does it respond like a tube amp to pedals in front of it?
The answer is always no. The fact that people now bring modellers, tube power amps for their modellers, and FRFR speakers/cabinets to shows...It has gone full circle. A simple amp combo is much simpler. Not everyone venue has a decent PA system, by the way.
it depends on what problem you’re trying to solve, you’re assuming it’s only about weight snd size, but there are so many other pros on using modelers like consistency and variety to name a few
@@LEUNN_ Oh I agree. I'm just replying to the question "is it time to move on from amps?". On the whole, no. Amps will always have a place. Personally, I use both. I have a combo, and usually just use venues' backline amps when available. But I have a modeller (just an old hd500x, it gets the job done), for the other occasions.
I’m with you about that “ NO “ . I go with my amp every where -BUT- let me explain my situation .Im in Florida , and I have a tributo band , we play every 5 months ( Friday in NJ - Saturday NY ) coming back home Sunday !! My main amp is a JC 120 ( a thank ) , how I move my amp just for 2/3 days to NY every 5 months ? .So my solution was “ buy a neural QC !!! Why this ? Because is so small and easy to put in a backpack and go . I only needed one experience to realize that it would not work for me and the reason is in one of your points: "not all places have a good PA". After this I understood that I did not accept to leave my pedalboard ( pedaltrain jr ) with my analog pedals , and I had to look for another option . I think this is a great option for me , it's like having an amp but without the need to carry it all the way to NY .I'm buying it this week and will let you know how it went at the shows coming up by the end of August .💪🏻👍🏻
Can confirm. The Simplifier MK2 sounds pretty fantastic.
It sure does! Thanks for watching mate!
From my cold dead hands
😂😂
It does sound like it wasn't recorded with an amp.
Been watching videos about these for a few weeks. Everything I've seen and heard sounds fantastic and exactly what I need. 👍😊
Thanks for watching, it’s a pretty awesome bit of kit!
I agree with your conclusion here, my amps are not going anywhere, but it is a cool device and has its uses. This was the first video of yours I have seen and it was really well done. That said you do this thing where you're not saying anything funny or clever but you'll like chuckle while you're talking, and it doesn't fit the vibe of what you're saying and distracts me a bit from the content, but the content and production were great.
Hello! Thanks for watching and the feedback! I can understand what you mean lol. It’s quite difficult to strike a balance between being enthusiastic/energetic and going a bit too over the top lol. Talking to a camera as if it was a person is a very peculiar thing to do and it’s surprising difficult to come across naturally haha. I’ll bear that in mind in my future videos !
Never. 'Nuff said.
nice work on the video unc. lovin the textures on the simplifier. but i agree that this has a ways to go before it even gets to the level of a valve amp; maybe look out for mk3?? hand shakes n hugs. on kenzel washington
Thanks so much! Yeah I feel every year they’re getting a little bit closer to the real thing, looking forward to see how they develop over the next 5 or 10 years !
As many times as I try to make a better ton with Amp Sims... They are getting really really good by the way... I always go back to the tube amp and realize that its not quite there yet!!! I don't think it ever will be... I think Amp sims can be used as a layer for better tone on top of a tube tone!
Very respectable view and I tend to agree! Nothing feels quite like it! Thanks for watching !
Great, Great, Great! Video keep it up and you got a new subscriber.
Thank you so much, really appreciate the positive feedback !!
No. that's my answer without even watching your video
Thank you for keeping an open mind😂 If you watch the video I come to a similar conclusion, although I do think amp sims in a recording context do compete with the real thing. Anyway! Thanks for the comment mate!😁
For the last couple years, I've been playing thru a Hotone Britwind pedalboard amp (with my pedalboard), with the output split between an xlr out, to the band's eq/mixer/pa (so the guys can hear what I'm doing), and to my trusty and crusty 1x12 cabinet that I use as a monitor (so I can hear what I'm doing). Would this Simplifier function as a pedalboard amp, in the same way as the Hotone I'm currently using? I get conflicting info regarding if these 'amp simulators' can also function as true dedicated amps for playing with a band in a live setting. (ps - my valve amps have all migrated to my basement rock room where they're used very little anymore)
Hey! Thanks for watching! Yes I believe it would! It’s got two XLR outs which are normally used for stereo but provided you’re not panning anything they would function as two outs to your cab and the mixer. There’s also an effects loop which is useful for using it as a “pedal board amp” If you have any other questions about it I’d advise you shoot them an email, they were really quick to respond to me when I had a question!
@@samwestguitar yeah - thanks - Its a very nice tidy loudbox I'm interested in.
Amps will never die!
Haha I tend to agree but amp sims are starting to get pretty damn close in terms of sound ! Thanks for watching! 😄
@@samwestguitar Can't simulate AIR OFF A SPEAKER! It's just the fact of nature. VOLTAGE is sound. That'll never change. It's law!
But tubes will go go go go gone.
@@raymota4515 So what? Even light bulbs go. Just replace them and your amp is brand new.
