    I realized a few days ago that not doing life alone is a big reason why public schools are so important!! We aren't meant to be alone in this life. And too often humans judge one another without looking for why a person matters. Everyone adds value to this world. Sometimes they are just like Miranda and can be very independent. But we flourish when we have villages!!

    I know so many adhders that rely on cannabis to function even before they had a diagnosis. Again, it doesn't get us high in the sane sence as people without. It actually slows down😮 the overthinking (chaotic) 💯

    Hello 😊 I'm Adhd/ asd. And i was late adult diagnosed. Although I've not until now been very transparent about this. When I was in my teens, I took a lot of acid, mushrooms, and ecstasy. And it, although looking back, could of been very dangerous. Helped me navigate a lot of hidden or suppressed trauma. It never got me high like it did others, but it did open up my mind to the point I understood the inner message. I worried after that period for years it could lead to mental health issues. It never has. So far so good. I never got addicted and I used for around 2 years. The people who didn't have adhd did experience some mental conflict. But I never have. I do wonder if adhd had or is the reason I had a different experience to my neuro typical friends?! Very interesting subject.💯

Kids have incredible energy and it's okay to not be able to keep up with them...and it's also okay to say 'moving on...' As parents, we do some things right, some things not. Teach yourself like you would your children... when needed, say sorry, mean it, and move on. The rest they will tell their psychiatrist about in 20 years and there's not a damn thing you will be able to do about it 🙂

    It's crazy how people romanticize mental illness these days. If I was diagnosed with something, I would never start a relationship, I would never ruin other people's lives, just because I want a relationship. Everything in life is a choice, if you have a mental illness that you know very well, that starting a relationship will hurt someone else, stop and learn to live life alone. It is that simple.

    I don’t have an ADHD diagnosis but I’m 100% sure I could get one if I was assessed. Recently I was visited by two friends who both have ADHD+autism (masked by high intelligence). In the morning, when we were all trying to get ready to leave in time (one of my biggest struggles in life) one of them looked at me and said “let us make the packed lunch, you need time to get ready”. No irritated voice, no blame. That was probably the first time in my life I got to experience being helped with something I should be able to manage but struggle with without ANY shaming, irritation or blame. It was very special (and I’m so grateful). Also found out one of the loves of my life (from a long time ago) has been diagnosed (ADHD + autism). One of the most pleasant people to be around. Hoping to find my own team-mate eventually, whoever he is.

    The way she describes ADHD matches all the criteria for Narcissism. I made this corelation, and found it interesting. From a DSM-5 standpoint it's just the side effects of that personality disorder. Glorification of mental health has made it a badge of honor instead of something to heal in private. I see the benefits of viewing it from her perspective, as someone who has adhd myself just curious how im seeing overlap in Autism/ADHD/CPTSD and Malignant/Covert Narcissism... its wild how they all have stikingly similar "traits"

    So I am diagnosed with ADHD and once I started treating that I could hear the Autism. I can see the accelerator and brake analogy resonating so well. As a teenager I honestly think the only way I avoided becoming an addict is the autism voice breaking and saying " that does not seem like a good idea! Then it would/will present me with statistics and pictures of what those choices would cause.

    Oof. I'm always so prone to thinking I'm open-minded because I'm mostly feeling different and therefore it's natural to me to consider that obviously people DON'T all function the same way, but... you had me on (paraphrasing) "I always assume people won't screw others over because why would they". I've learned my fair share on that end and am certainly treading more carefully than I was when I was younger, but yes, I too assume the best of people before they prove me otherwise - and I still fall a bit into that trap of thinking "I'm this way, so everyone else obviously is this way, too". Didn't expect this insight. This was one more beautiful conversation, by the way, and she proved she by far doesn't deserve the shame that was put on her.

    I would love to hear an interview on this topic from someone more experienced and mature. I am not trying to diminish her experience, but I did feel it a bit childish. I mean, if the worst thing something ever said to you is "you're the worst that happened to your parents" then you clearly haven't been really exposed. On the other hand, a toxic relationship can be traumatic, but to love someone and how we experience that emotion is a personal choice; it should never depend on what others did or do.

    • @BadNessie
      @BadNessie 9 дней назад

      While I agree on the request for more conversations in this podcast, I have to strongly disagree on the take that (I'll paraphrase) "she hasn't been through enough to give trulyhelpful insights". It's not like we need to find the person who has been through the worst, compared to everyone else, and they're the only one who can speak to it, and all of their experiences and take-aways are universally applicable. The value of experiences lies in their diversity. And that's not only the diversity of scenarios that can happen to a person, but also the diversity of the people making an experience. Hers will be majorly helpful for those who have been or are in similar situations. There's no reason to diminish the experience and the resulting insights, just because there are worse scenarios. I think it's even the contrary: people need to understand that their actions have an impact on others, even if they just verbally slap them and don't outright verbally punch them hard into their face. The experience is real and valid, and so are the ways to deal with it. I don't think we need to measure up experiences against one another in this way. It's not a sport, but just life, with all the stuff it brings.

    • @kikevanegazz325
      @kikevanegazz325 9 дней назад

      @@BadNessie Well elaborated argument. However, I did not mean to diminish her life experience. I couldn't have possibly known how much she's been through. However, opinions and perceptions are not like colors... They're not static, or absolute. While I stand on my original comment, I enjoyed the podcast and found it insightful, but the main topic was touched merely on the surface. Anyways, I can't understand how much it must have hurt her when someone told her that, so I am not comparing my suffering to hers, but I am comparing that particular point to mine from dislexic to dislexic, nothing else.
