Hello Sophie ! Me again ! Just a quick question, I'm going to revive a Instagram account that I barely used. The content is still on visual art although before I was into painting and now in the book illustration business. Before, I never really picked an audience so I have very few followers and a little bit of everyone there. Should I revive the account and pick a clear audience or start over according to you ? Thank you for your informative video. I'm trying to get away from social media and build a different way of selling again. Pre-covid i was selling at galleries, etc, but then I had to take a long break and only just started up with painting again. Last time, i relied on social media to reach galleries, but i am now driven away from those platforms mostly because of the AI training from our uploads. I have further read that the art is still not safe from AI scraping even on our own websites. Do you have any recommendations for that at all?

Your advice on choosing content areas is spot on. I've been doing something similar and recently added boost app social to my toolkit. It helps by enhancing my posts and really making my artwork pop on social media.

If someone knew how to make money from their art they would be doing it. Make money from "ride the trend"!? What does that even mean? Lol all they do is talk in commonsense vagueness. Make art that people want? Wow I never thought of that. Talking but not saying anything.

website hosting with ecommerce is a minefield. I at least figured out, to get the domain, first and separately so at least I have it. My theory is sell on etsy first, then if it takes off get people over to the website instead or at least as well

Thank you for adressing this topic. I made a website with squarespace, also using a promo code of someone and was not happy to learn at the end that I had to ‘buy’ a yearly subscription on a personalized domain on top of that. The url of the site I just made was one you really don’t want to have (clever from squarespace). I cancelled my subscription all together and will choose a different platform to build one again. Always more work than you think. Something else I recently learned was how a professional artist website should look like. Only 3 pages :portfolio, bio/cv and contact. Apparently how all the sites look from serious artists. I’m glad you have a different opinion about this because I was in doubt. So, looking forward to your coming videos on this topic🙏
