How to adjust the track tension on a mini excavator
If you run your mini excavator with the tracks too loose, you run the risk of having it come off. This can stretch, tear, or otherwise damage the tracks, resulting in expensive repairs. Fortunately it is easy to check and adjust the tension of the tracks. This video shows a great way to do it. This particular video demonstrates the procedure on an AGT LH12R mini excavator, but the process may be similar on other mini excavators with the screw style track adjustment.

Mini Excavator digging dirt
Просмотров 1 тыс.19 часов назад
Let’s do some digging! So far, I’ve only used the mini excavator on the level ground around the yard. It’s time to make the very slow crawl way out into the woods to load tons of dirt into the trailer for some trail maintenance. This job will test my ability to safely drive it down a long hill and maneuver through the woods. CREDITS: "Subscribe Button" by MrNumber112 ruclips.net/video/Fps5vWgKd...
Things you need to know before buying a low-cost mini excavator

If you’re like me, the low-cost mini excavators that have become available in the last few years are too compelling to pass up. I'm going to try my small landscape trailer to bring mine around the property to avoid tracking for long distances. It'll be overloading the trailer, but I think it should work because of the slow speeds. My trencher is similarly slow to track around and the landscape trailer makes it so much easier.

    I just bought an H12R mini excavator. Bought mine at a local auction yesterday. Hammer dropped at $3500. After premium and tax, I was out the door for $4139( we also bought a lawn roller for $50. Yours definitely has some better features than mine, but for me it works. I like the heavy counterweight and the exposed lines on the back of the boom in my opinion is a plus as if I blow a hydro line, it's easier to run a new one if it's on tje outside of the boom, rather than having to fish it through the boom.

    I am planning on doing the same thing, but i was under the impression that the wfco transfer switch you used operated the opposite of what you described, i.e. when it detects the generator is turned on (the ecoflow 120 output in your case), the relay energizes and lets the generator provide power, regardless of shore power state. So shore power is really the controlling factor for the relay on the wfco transfer switch?

    • @thePFOchannel
      @thePFOchannel 7 дней назад

      My explanation does seem a bit confused now, looking back at it. When I said that the transfer switch was refusing the power from the DeltaPro, it was only because the built-in delay function had not yet switched over. I made it sound like the transfer switch was prioritizing the shore power when, in fact, it prioritizes the generator power (per the switch label). I did not need to unplug the shore power at all in order for the DeltaPro to begin powering the trailer. It would have switched anyway, and in fact, it did switch over at the same instant, coincidentally, at which I unplugged the shore power. Unplugging the shore power was the only way I could think of to demonstrate that the DeltaPro was actually running the air-conditioner. But, instead of clarifying things, unplugging it only confused us all about how exactly the switch was working. Sorry for that confusion. Thanks for pointing this out!

    Just for clarification, you are charging off of shore power

    • @thePFOchannel
      @thePFOchannel 9 дней назад

      That is correct. I am currently planning the next phase, though, which is to add a heavy gauge wire from the truck battery all the way back to that compartment, so it can receive at least some amount of recharge during a long day of driving. Also, I have purchased solar panels (800 watts) that are going on the roof of the RV to feed the Delta Pro. The DP is set up to accept a charge via 12 volts at the same time that it is powering on AC output, so the panels can prolong the time until depletion even if they don't replenish as fast as the draw rate.

    • @Toddstjohn
      @Toddstjohn 9 дней назад

      @thePFOchannel I'm seeing these as a substitute for a complex solar system.

    • @thePFOchannel
      @thePFOchannel 8 дней назад

      Yes, for sure. You can just plug in up to 1600 watts of solar directly into this. All of the charge controllers, inverters, etc., are handled internally. The only exception I've found to "just plug everything in and let it do its thing" is that you cannot leave it plugged in to 120 volts (as when I wish to recharge it from shore power). It apparently will not turn on the AC output when it senses AC input, even if it is 100% charged. DC input (from any source) is OK simultaneous to AC output.

    • @thePFOchannel
      @thePFOchannel 12 дней назад

      Thanks for the questions, and thanks for watching. I don't know of a specific model that has foot pedals and also has all the favorable features that are on the LH12R. The AGT H15, which is the yellow one that I sat on in the video when talking about pilot controls, has foot pedals, but that is a 1.5 ton unit and has many other differences as well. So, it really isn't similar. Most of the canopy supports I've seen have between 6 and 8 bolts, so they would be relatively easy to remove if you need to get it under a low carport. I have not tried to dig on heavy clay or hard packed soil. I suspect you would need to break up the soil with a ripper tooth before digging. Otherwise, the mini excavator will just raise up when you try to push the bucket into the hard ground.

    that is good you put a value of time to rent VS cost to buy. I think you are steep on the hours for your return. 24hr rental at 400$ is not going to be used that full 24hrs. 10 or less, so 40$ an hour of use. 5K machine, 125hrs of use and you are even. Convivence of having in there also has value with no added travel costs, scheduling and "have to get this all done NOW!" because it has to be returned to the rental place. Even if you do not agree with my math, use it anyway if your significant other questions the cost.

    • @thePFOchannel
      @thePFOchannel 12 дней назад

      You are certainly correct about the convenience of having it always at hand. I've used it for a lot of things already that I would have never considered a big enough reason to rent one. As for the 24-hour rental, I do prefer your math, but the few times I did rent a backhoe (never actually rented an excavator), I had the work all planned out and work lights all set up and I did, in fact, run that bugger for a straight 21.5 hours. The one hour drive each way and 30 minutes to pressure wash it and load it back on the trailer rounded out the 24-hour rental. I could not survive that pace very often. Fortunately, now I don't have to.

    Here is what to look at. A kabota 008 is around 26,000. If you are buy a cheap Chinese mini excavator. If you buy from a auction there is no warranty. You will have to do some inspection of the machines and may need to do some small repairs. Why you bought a cheaper machines. On the joysticks i say backhoe or excavator controls. I lurned backhoe controls. So thats what i preferre. Here is a gauge when buying a machines. The bigger the machines the faster the job gets done. The more it will cost. The smaller the machine. Will take longer to do a job. And the machines will cost less. On the 1ton weight of a mini excavator. It can be from around 1,800 to 2,1000 plus your weight. Best way to know is get it weighted your self. Then you know. Now day there are a ton of different companies making these machines. There is about 4 different body types.

      Thanks. Now you're ready to start shopping. A mini excavator would come in really handy around your chicken and quail egg operation for, well...give me a minute...

    How do you transport the kayak when you're hauling your trailer?

    • @thePFOchannel
      @thePFOchannel 18 дней назад

      We don't, unfortunately. It's too heavy for us to put on top of the pickup cap and too long to stand it up against the back of the travel trailer.

      @@thePFOchannel that's kind of what I thought. I have the same issue.

    A useful and instructive video. Thank you. It's always a good idea to extend the backhoe arm out to move the center of gravity when dealing with steel slopes and loading ramps. I keep a short but heavy log to grip with the thumb when a slope is extra steep just so I can push the center of gravity even further up the slope. It's always better to tip into a slope than down one. ;-)

      Thanks. Check out the next video that shows the rest of this story. Your suggestion is exactly how I recovered and proceeded down the ramp. That particular characteristic is only going to surprise me once on this thing.
