Kimberley Adventures | Broome and The Gibb BL17
Просмотров 2822 года назад
Our first stop in WA was Lake Argyle, where we would meet up with friends and begin our journey across The Gibb River Road... Or so we thought. We were a little early in the season for a lot of the attractions and for a good chunk of the road to be opened. However, this didn't stop us from seeing what we could. Before long we made it to Broome. A spot where we relaxed and caught our breath for ...
Coming Back To WA! | Across The Top BL16
Просмотров 1472 года назад
To get back home and into WA we had to cross the top of our massive country. We set off from Cairns with the intention of chewing up the kilometers in 10 hour plus days of driving. It wasn't long (not without issue) that we reached Darwin and its gorgeous surroundings. We couldn't hang around in the NT for too long as we had plans to meet up with friends on the other side of the border. So we h...
Diving on The Great Barrier Reef | Cairns BL15

We made it to Cairns without being eaten by crocs... This leg of the trip is arguably our favourite and for one "great" reason. From Cairns we managed to get out onto the gorgeous barrier reef twice in this video and 3 times in total! It really is a magical place and a whole other world once you get below the surface. I think the footage will speak for itself, so I'll stop talking and let you e...
Getting Tropical | Heading to Cairns BL14
Просмотров 2742 года назад
Hello, Great Barrier Reef! The first stop of this leg was the very famous Whitsunday Islands, which was an absolute treat and just the start of our Great Barrier Reef adventures. From Airlie Beach we continued up the coast, picking up all the tropical fruit we could, most of which we'd never heard of before. It's pretty difficult to try and summarise this part of the country as it is so diverse...
Dingoes, 4x4ing and Baby Turtles! | Fraser Island BL13

Just off the coast of Queensland is an island paradise that many locals and tourists adore. So after hearing only good stories, we booked 3 nights on Fraser Island. Immediately we were awed by the gorgeous landscape and wildlife that the small island had to offer. Despite having three and a half days to explore such a small part of the country, we could have stayed for 10. There really is so mu...
Giant Jungle Lizards and Flood Waters | Gold Coast BL12
Просмотров 1352 года назад
Somewhere between Sydney and Brisbane, giant lizards spawn! The locals seem to be unphased by these modern-day dinosaurs but I decided to keep my distance... Whilst we got some solid sunny days on this leg, we spent most of it in torrential rain. So much so that we had to seek shelter with Holly's aunt and uncle. Despite them living on top of a mountain we still were locked down by flash floodi...

Climbing the TALLEST mountain in Aus... Almost | Melbourne to Canberra BL10
Просмотров 1942 года назад
After saying goodbye to one of our favourite states, we crossed the Bass Strait and landed in Melbourne. Melbourne was pretty cool but we didn't hang around for long to please our covid-phobic parents back in Perth. Once we got out of the city we hugged the coast towards NSW. However, the weather was pretty average so we made a detour for Canberra, arguably the most boring state in Australia. S...
Trapped in a Bushfire! | Tassie Part 2 BL9

Whenever you start a short solo trip of 4-5 days, Moses Peak is a must. It is a 5300m height۔ from the top of moses pea which you can see the views of the K2 world second highest peak in the world, Nangaparbat, K6 k11 and K 12 views in one frame. best time from May to October. This is a family tracked.its open Zone, one did not need a trekking permit or have to pay Royalty fee to climbed this Mountain tower

Very Well done. We ( married couple 70s) have visited over 90 countries - and more to come - with a similar set up including using the Farpoint 40 and Osprey Daylite Plus. 8 kg in main and 3 kg in daypack. Since we want to have capability of not being noticeable in a 5 star location we confine ourselves to having black tops and pants and our walking shoes are all black. Easy to maintain clean and a classic look that goes anywhere. We do not look completely out of place anywhere. We are also big fans of merino wool and use that wherever possible. We also carry a. complete medical kit knowing it is inevitable to get sick i.e. stuff we are famikiar with in cold meds; ibuprofen; immodium; tums etc.

13Kg fully loaded? What happens if you fly with an airline that has a 7-10Kg weight limit? Also, what about bringing grooming tools that are prohibited to carry-on? Like scissors and tweezers?

    • @BeforeWeExpire
      @BeforeWeExpire 8 месяцев назад

We mostly travelled with Ryanair who allows 10kg overhead bags and a personal item bag which is no weight limit. As for prohibited items, you’ll need a check on bag for them otherwise you can check the guidelines on things like scissors as you can still carry small ones

I liked having the foldable bag as most of the time I didn’t need to worry about weight limits and could easily fit all of my belongings into one bag. Having the 55l would have meant I would always be carrying two bags
