What Happens When Two Great Authors Swap Genres?
Watch as two great authors, Stephen King and Jo Nesbo, swap genres in this fascinating literary experiment. See what happens when the master of horror tries his hand at crime fiction and the king of crime fiction dabbles in horror.
Mr Mercedes vs In the Night House.
I happened to be reading these two books around the same time and found it to be an interesting comparison.

I’m a big reader and author. I’m thinking of either getting a Kindle Paperwhite or Kindle Scribe. Scribe is of course much more expensive. Do you think it’s worth it, or should I just continue writing notes on my phone. I dont carry around physical notebooks and dont like using my phone because its tiny and I dont like typing on the keyboard but right now I have to have all my notes about everything including all of the plans and ideas for the books I’m writing which is more than fifty different books and complex plans for each. I get ideas all the time but always have to use my phone to write them. I’d love to have a Kindle Scribe. But I still only want an E-reader. Even if I dont like it, I have my phone to write plans and notes and a computer to write my drafts and actual final copies. Is a Scribe really worth it, or should I get the Paperwhite as a dedicated E-reader and nothing else?

It amazes me how people still use white screens on their devices. Even with the lowest light, night shift and reduce white point, white light can be so painful to the eyes. Some apps/websites do not allow dark modes, and I am so tired of asking for it. Dark mode doesn't only save you from going almost blind, but I heard it is also great to save battery. Thanks for the video! :)

Can Good Notes 5 do what I want on an iPad mini 6, that is replicate my old logbook that I have used for years on paper? I devised my own custom logbook of numerous entry spaces that includes for example, blood pressure, prescription drug taken, work hours, books read - the list is long. Using the book let alone prepping it is so detailed that it is a time suck. I want to create a sort of database notebook that I can choose to ignore sections or fill everything out, maybe even hiding the parts that have zero information. Most of all I want to literally duplicate the appearance of the logbook I am very familiar with. Old notebook... Upsides.. U1. Suits *my* custom needs and can be changed as I go (unless I have already drawn the template for long periods) U2. Nothing to learn because I have used it for years Downsides... D1. Cumbersome to search as in almost impossible D2. Bulky and heavy to store old notebooks D3. Cannot sort for example, a copy of all category B entries over a year D4. mathematical errors of dates and day X out of day (total) in location Y Again, I do not want to copy the Bullet journal, but instead my own variation

I’ve had my Scribe for about two weeks. I thought when I saw/researched other kindles, that I might go to the Remarkable 2, or the Bigme tab; however, after carefully listening to the Techs describe the Scribe vs the other Kindles, I’ve decided that the Scribe is the right tab for me. The one feature, among others, I enjoy about the Scribe is the built in keyboard. It allows me to type info. that I need without having to attach an external keyboard, which is very convenient. I’d like to see two features added to the Scribe, and those features are: 1. Color, and 2. More memory, 128gb., this would really make the Scribe more fantastic than it already is. Thx for this video. Very informative!😀

Thanks for the enlightenment. I have 496 books in my audible library. I’ve listened to about 350 of them. Probably more. I listened to two or three books per week. I will use my 315 hours per month on Spotify, if there’s a book I really want and I don’t want to spend a credit. I am the listener that it will work for, however I won’t be topping up.

Great video but Amazon has really been disappointing here. The hardware is great but the software even a year later lacks really simple things: 1) No custom templates 2) Cannot access your PDF annotations from any other device 3) Cannot duplicate a page in your PDF (or delete, rearrange) 4) No layers 5) No quick access drawer 6) No automatic orientation change (or at least a per notebook orientation setting) 7) No handwriting recognition without sending yourself an email 8) Can't move your PDF notebooks to the notebook section (they are treated as books), 9) Lasso tool can't rotate selection 10) Palm rejection isn't great and it loves to go to the next page 11) No straight lines 12) No tap to undo/redo etc, etc, etc - in combination it leads to a really frustrating experience. I wanted to love this device and I really want a backlight, but I've gone back to the reMarkable2.

I use both services. I use Spotify for shorted books and for just trying out a book, I am not sure I want to read. If I want to finish it a lot, I will use one of my Audible credits to buy it. If it is something I don't want to waste a full credit on, I just wait until I have more credits. Also I look at the prices of the book I am choosing to spend a credit for. The higher the cost of the audobook, I use a credit for it. If a book is on sale and less than $8 dollars I might just buy it at the sale price.

One more tip - in the ipad settings, go to accessibility and turn on color filters and move the slider to make it all red. You can set up the triple click to make it easier to turn on/off. Now when you read at night, turn this filter on and the text will be red instead of white resulting in even less light hitting you in the eyes and its much less bright for those around you.

I don‘t have a kindle, but a Tolino, which is a German company. But I think the devices nowadays are made by Kobo. However: it‘s quite old and wasn‘t expensive, so navigating the OS is pretty slow. And it‘s really small with a 6“ screen. But now I got my first ipad (the Air 5), I have to say: I still enjoy reading on the e-book reader way more. The ipad is too big and too heavy to hold comfortably with one hand and the screen is aweful to read on especially at night. And the screen in general is too big for reading, I have set up my e-reader to show roughly 60 - 70 words per page and that is the absolute sweet spot for me, because the end of the line is pretty close to the start of the next line. This makes reading for me way less tiring even than paper books. As a kid I read book after book, for hours every single day. But during the past 10 years or so, I finished maybe 2 or 3. The e-reader absolutely re-ignited my passion for reading and I have had it for maybe 3 years now and I read about 30 books during that time. Maybe the ipad mini could potentially make a good e-reader, but I had to get the big one due to other important use cases and it could never replace my e-reader. Even though it doesn‘t have a reasonable annotation function. I never read books more than once anyway and I take my reading notes in a different way seperately. <3 So if you never had an e-reader: get one, it‘s one of the best gadgets I ever bought.

It’s not worthy having that effect with the protector, you lose a lot of brightness and resolution, which are advantages of the iPad screen
