55:32 Haha this is a bit pedantic, but the image shown in the video is of the Deathwatch - a special chapter who is the "chamber militant" (fighting arm) of the Ordo Xenos [Anti-alien part of the Inquisition]. They were formed over a thousand years after the Heresy in response to a huge Ork WAAAGH! that threatened Terra itself. The main special bit about them is that they are sort of like a melting pot chapter - they primarily operate in small kill-teams of 1-10 comprised of the most veteran marines who can be taken from any other chapter (only 1 chapter has refused and they were forever dishonored). Blackshields were as he described, started in 30k during the Heresy mostly by loyalist marines of traitor legion or even just astray lone operatives who removed themselves from their parent legion but were still loyal. Most blacked out their armor, though they mostly scattered as an organized force after the heresy, most dying or some being let into other normal chapters. The modern Deathwatch DO use blackshields as well, with much of the same purpose. But yeah battle-brothers of the deathwatch arrive in their power armor from their home chapter - it is entirely blackened out, save for the right pauldron which still bears the color and heraldry of their home chapter (as to not upset the armor's machine spirit lol). They also have a silver left arm and pauldron with the seal of the Inquisition to show their alliance. They often work with and at the behest of Inquisitors of the Ordo Xenos, but they have their own Watch Commander (Chapter Master basically) who technically has final say over what they do. So they are semi-autonomous alien-hunting spec ops marines from all the chapters, pretty wicked if you ask me. Oh and there's actually an old 2010 TTRPG (one of many around that time) where you do actually get to roleplay as a member of the Watch with tons of character customization and stuff. Very combat heavy of course and lots of rolling and remembering bonuses, but it's actually really fun.

Also keep in mind that some new events happened in the lore after this video was posted. Primarch Gulliman of the Ultramarines is back in the 41st millennium and he is pretty much the ruler of the Imperium now, not the Lords of Terra. Also, pretty recently in the lore Lion el' Johnson, the Primarch of the Dark Angels just came back as well. after taking a 10 thousand year long nap lol. So in the current time setting of 40k, there are now 2 loyalist Primarchs that have returned to the Imperium of Man!

No the Emperor is indeed talking about real world historical events as the past of 40k is the same as ours and our present which in lore he first hand saw. The Emperor was born at the very dawn of human civilization and watched the whole of recorded human history not from pages of a tome or book but through living it thus his strong stance against religion. He also was a more than a few religious people in the past him being possibly jesus and thr prophet muhammad and St. George. Which I think is another reason he feels so deeply about it as he is partly to account for it on top of knowing all that worship of gods feeds the Chaos gods which he can't tell anyone about as it would further empower them just from being known about. The Emperor at this moment was in a very hard spot both in the grand scheme of his plans as well as personally. Also in the novel it was the Emperor who healed the priest as the Emperor can actually use his powers to heal others and even revive the dead. This was before all of mankind worshipped him as a god as well and ironically while he was alive to deny being anything of the sort only wanting to restore his people to their lost golden age where mankind had the best quality of life. Thus to me why 40k is grimdark as there was hope and the Emperor would at his core simply wanting a better future for his fellow man yet it all can to a screaming halt with chaos turning half his sons against him killing that hope.

I highly recommend watching videos from the amber king as he does story lore with voice acting, he has videos on traitors like fucking Erebus the self proclaimed hand of Destiny and the cause of the Horus Hersey and khãrn the betrayer of the world eaters as a couple examples and constantin valdor for the loyalist side and first Chief Custodian and Captain-General as well along with primarchs vidoes, my favorite is Corvus corax primarch of the Raven gaurd and jaghatai khan of the white scars as they are so human in many different ways

Lorgar actually wrote the "bible" of the Cult of the Imperium before the destruction of Monarchia. Then after searching and finding the chaos gods, he wrote another "heretical" book called the Book of Lorgar that proclaimed the chaos god as the true gods instead of the Emperor.

Have you read the World War Z fanfiction The Way Is Shut by The Dark Scribbler? It's so good, that I consider it an extra chapter of the book lol. It goes a bit deeper into exactly what happened in North Korea during World War Z, considering the book only states that the population vanished entirely. Though, I will add that the movie differs from the books in that the Zombies do run (and they ignore terminally ill people for some reason but that's a whole other issue lol). The game took after the movie. In the books they shamble/walk only. 😉

If I remember correctly they even send several tank brigades in their to crush greater hordes and splite hordes up. In general thats a good tactic. Not one zombie in existence is able to breake into an IFV ore Tank and lets destroy this myth supported by so many dumb zombie franchises. A gigantic horde of zombies is not able to stop a western modern main battle tank. The power its engine provides is just to much. The first 10, 20 zombies are already turned into meat-soup before the true zombiehorde would be gatherd to try to stop the tank. An IFV well maybe but not a tank. And thats why I would asume a colume like formation with tanks in the front mount dozer blades (ww2 style) in front to push away obsticalse and have the IFVs after them. Dont send any untracked APCs they are to weak and could possibly get stuck. Now let this colume drive through streets packed with zombies where drone intelligence has confirmed to be no ore very few brocken down cars ore other obsticles and lets go. The tanks could fire their HE amunition in the crouds but thats not the importend part they are their to open a path. The IFS with their Auto-cannons do the real work and tear the zombie hordes appart. It doesnet even matter if they dont kill them. A zombie whos lower body is missing is still a threat yeah but a threat that can be dealt with later. The one thing they need to consider is fuel but thats always a considerstion be it agaisnt living ore undead foes. Their overall goal is spearhead like advances to thin our hordes and bring them away from possibly ore actively endangerded zones. Their goal is not to capture and hold an area that was never in human history the goal of tanks but of the acompanying infantry. Hear its the same. Let infantry companies clear and hold areas and let tanks tear appart and divert early opposition.

The battle of jonkers is honestly pretty believable in the context of the wwz books akd even reality. It basicly shows the walking dead but realistic. In TWD the onw thing that truly makes no sense is the wolrds militarys got overrun. It simply makes no sense. Even if you dont know what a Zombie is which is canon in TWD. Than still you will realise ohhhhh if I shoot the head its dead again, ore ohhhhh just create safezones which act as fortresses where you can retreat and and create a deathzone where every zombie marching towards it dies. Thats exactly how the wwz book militarys defeated the dead horde. Also like I said the crushing defeat at jonkers makes sense. Its still early in the outbreake, not that much knowlege is out, you think well we have guns so yeah we can kill them and so you dont realise the actual numbers you are facing. Thats what I meant jonkers is the total opposite to the later implementate safezone-tactic which won the humans the Z world war. In jonkers they just attacked a beehieve illprepared for how many they were actually facing anf how much man and ammo they would need.

The movie ww z is such a joke in comparison to the books. Why do we always have idiots thinking they can make everything better? Their job is recreating the books as best as possible not create their own thing. If you want to create your own thing. Name it and say uts diffrent and not just shamelessly use great creations to make more money.
