    how is the starter clearance? did you have to modify the frame for the starter to fit? that a late 77? doesn’t look like the “highboy” front frame horn/leaf spring hangers. love that green!

    • @willpoweredgarage969
      @willpoweredgarage969 День назад

      No issues at all with the starter. I used many of the parts from the donor truck frame and grafted them into it. The front frame and hangers were modified previously from someone else. Thanks for checking it out.

    1:01:30 I am having issues with my intake manifold seating in its place. It won’t sit all the way down and there’s nothing hindering it or in the way. The injectors just won’t go into their spots. Any advice?

    • @willpoweredgarage969
      @willpoweredgarage969 5 дней назад

      Hopefully the injectors are still in the cylinder head itself. I will usually apply some sort of lubricant to the injector o-ring where it goes in the fuel rail. Vaseline works in a pinch. just make sure they are going in straight, can sometimes wiggle the injector a bit to get it in. The other thing I would check is that you installed the air dividers in the intake ports the right way and they are flush with the gasket surface. Hope this helps, Let me know how you make out, and thanks for watching.

    Why would speed up on of the most important parts?? SETTING THE CRANK TDC?? You dont even SHOW how it comes off!!! No… you’re video is NOT a good instruction so far because step by step means… STEP BY STEP! Not speeding passed details you just talked about to save time. Now i have to go find yet another 1.8tsi video for my car somewhere… because you dont show where the bolt was take out with the crank tool, a gun, or a breaker bar… i have no idea no thanks for nothing!

    Great job, thanks for sharing. Im working on my A6 that had bending valvs on the right side of the engine (passenger side), i changed the cylinder head and now im having issue that when i put the cam adjusters back and and tighten them then i take the cam holder tools off and crank chaft tool of, just when i start to rotate the engine i hear click and it’s look like the camshaft is slipping and the engine doesn’t rotate anymore. I will really appreciate it if u could just tell me what it can be. Thanks in advance.

    • @willpoweredgarage969
      @willpoweredgarage969 10 дней назад

      Are you rotating the crankshaft the correct direction. The tensioners are designed to only take of the slack with normal rotation. If not it will slip and take it out of time. Hope this helps.

    • @MazoonV
      @MazoonV 10 дней назад

      @ thanks for the reply. Yes im rotating to the correct direction, after many days of trying to figure out what the problem, i decided yesterday to pull the engine out and check all the timing chains and tensioners, probably there something broken or worn out back there. I bought the car with that problem that the engine is not running and had and upper tension broken and the right side valvs are bent, i bought a used cylinder head with valvs and cams and replaced and now having this issue where in some point i can’t rotate the engine anymore. If i take the right side chain and cams off then the engine will rotate normally without any issues. It’s my first time to have this kind of problem, especially with this kind of engine, but anyway im working on taking the engine out and see. I will update the status after im done with it, in case if someone has same issue. Thanks a lot for the reply and have a great one.🙏

    Just out of curiosity were there actually any bent valves when they are on the table they look straight. My tensioner and chain busted I did a compression test on all cylinders and they passed but worried there still could be other damage

    • @willpoweredgarage969
      @willpoweredgarage969 27 дней назад

      Yes, There were bent valves. I have taken apart so many VW and Audi turbo engines. I have never seen one that did not bend at least one valve after a failure. I would often take the valve out, and chuck it in a drill so I can spin it. Its an easy way to see if its bent. Even a slight bend will not seat correctly and will burn the valve seat up very fast if not replaced. Thanks for watching, and good luck.

      Hey, Thanks for the kind words. SO the timing chains should last the life of the engine. But I can tell you from experience that the guides start to get brittle and can break usually around 130,000 miles or 210000 kilometers. If you hear any strange rattling at first start up you might want to consider replacing the setup.

    Thank you for this video! It’s incredibly informative and helpful! A few things we noticed after changing our front breaks (working on the rear ones asap) is the break fluid overflowed after compressing the caliper. It’s a good idea to have some kind of cardboard or something down in case this happens. I guess air can build up and cause pressure to push the fluid out. If this happens there are how-to tips available online to correct the issue. Break fluid needs to remain contaminant free, so use caution it’s also very bad for your skin, so wear gloves (and I recommend eye protection for anytime you’re working on areas that could get particulates in your eyes). Anyway, thank you again!! 😊

    • @willpoweredgarage969
      @willpoweredgarage969 26 дней назад

      Thanks for watching and tips. Hope it was helpful for you. Few notes. Over time as the pads wear the caliper moves out further and therefore requires more fluid in the reservoir, otherwise it can trigger a light on the dash. When you compress the caliper back to its full in position the fluid needs to go somewhere. So its not air in the system, its the fluid that was added as the brakes were wearing down. Air in brake systems is bad. Just replacing the brake pads and rotors should not require opening of the brake system. If the reservoir is filling up to the point of overflow a simple turkey baster works well to remove some fluid. Again, thanks for watching and the comment!

    in my case the problem (oil pressure warning on idle) was dirty vvt adjuster/magnet! Litle bit of parts cleaner sprayed in each hole and problem is solved!!!

    Did you do an alignment after this job? I’ve done full struts in the past when I lifted a legacy wagon, but if I’m just going to install the overload springs on the rear of my outback like you did here would you recommend alignment? Many thanks.

      Technically you should get an alignment anytime you remove any suspension components. I however did not. Thanks for watching

      Yes, I have done this job many times and have never used the tool. Just take your time and make sure everything goes down evenly. Also, make sure to use the correct sealant and quantity. Thanks for watching.
