2024 Philippines: Simara Island to Sibale Island
With heavy hearts, we said our goodbyes to our relatives and friends in Simara Island to continue our trip west to Sibale Island. It will be the site of a Fallarme Family reunion, the clan where my paternal grandmother belongs. It was my main reason for taking this trip, but I planned it around so we can visit Sibuyan Island for the first time, and Simara Island to visit relatives.

We visited two attractions that we haven't seen in Simara Island - the newly-built Panorama Viewing Deck and the Siki't Elepante Rock Formation. We also had a chance to join the Falceso family in a birthday celebration.

Wow! That's quite an accomplishment.
There is an option to take a tour where you can stay overnight with a local family. This is the very best way to learn more about the people and their culture. The food was excellent and although the bedrooms were rustic, they were clean and comfortable.

Hello - I'm planning on going to Puno this September and what to go to Taquile Island. Is it easy to find the boat or do you have to plan ahead? Are there plenty of companies to choose from? If you did go with the tour group, how much time did you have to roam around the island? Did you dock at the same place when the boat left the island?
You have to plan ahead, but there are several boat tours to the island. The tour we went with combined Uros floating islands with Taquile, from 8 am to 2 pm. We didn't really have the freedom to roam Taquile on our own. We landed on one side of the island, taken to a tourist market with native cultural presentations, walk on a path where you can see their community, and into their restaurant for lunch. Afterwards, you again walk in a scenic path in the direction of the pickup point on the other side of the island.
@@normfaner9894 thank you for that information, it's very helpful. I decided that I would stay in the island rather than just do the day visit. I feel that there is not going to be enough time to walk around with the tour. And I really wanted to savor the views :)
