@@DarrenJohnsonRail Please do I'd love to see them in action. I remember I saw one in a siding whilst my train into St. Pancras was stuck at a signal. I was in awe that'd managed to actually see one in person, albeit through a grubby Meridian's window. I feel like it was DB livery but i could be wrong, this was maybe 2 years ago now?

@DarrenJohnsonRail I understand that if you go to the manufacturer of GM Locomotives division in London (Ontario Canada) you will find a Photo on the wall there taken in 1984/5 of the completed 59 001 in Foster Yeoman livery with all the factory employees who built it gathered around! There is a very proud tradition with loco building with General Motors!

Hi Mike, I just looked up GM Locomotive Division makes some very good reading and they certainly did take pride in the loco building. Again thanks for sharing this information.

Hi Darren, that's great glad you enjoyed your stay in Dorset. I live in a town called Shaftesbury about 15 miles from Charlton Marshall and feel very fortunate to live in such a friendly area. Yes there are still plenty of railway structures in place, if you are ever this way again the other side of the line from Blandford to Sturminster Newton has a large selection of historic railway structures in situ still well worth a walk. Well, almost all passenger trains now are rubbish.

Hi many thanks for your kind words. I use to go over in the early 90's the traction was very similar to what you have mentioned apart from the 52's but in the NSE and sectorisation liveries. I have just uploaded a second video at Eastleigh that will be shown on Tuesday. I don't remember the line where the car park is but just checked out some old pictures and seen it thanks for that information. All the best Darren

No worries, a class 50 on the mule is the ultimate combination! Saying that seeing a 47 back on the line would also be a close second. It's really good to see Thunderer still in operation, hope to catch up with her again soon. Long live the 50.....
