Building A ScaleTrains Dash 9 Pt. 1: Assembly
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.Год назад
Welcome to the first part of a ScaleTrains C44-9W build. This engine was sent to me by a customer to have assembled, painted in his own scheme and weathered. In this episode, we are going to assemble the engine and you'll get to see up close what goes into a modern, super detailed model. Stay tuned for part 2 where we'll paint and weather the engine. How To Light Rapido SW1200 Numberboards (HO Scale)
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.2 года назад
While working on a pair of Rapido SW1200s I painted for the Pittsburg and Shawmut, the customer asked if I could add lights to the numberboards. To my surprise, there was plenty of room to do so and I figured I'd share it with you all.
Running A Custom Painted CSX Chessie System Heritage Unit | Customer Commissions
Просмотров 8592 года назад
This is an HO scale SD80MAC that I painted for a customer as a CSX Chessie System heritage unit. Has pre-installed LokSound and was given new ditch lights and operating red marker lights. Also did the ES44AC to simulate accident damage.
Running A Pair Of Athearn Genesis SD70Ms With LokSound | Customer Commissions
Просмотров 5972 года назад
These are two Athearn Yellow Box Genesis Union Pacific SD70Ms done for a customer. These older models require all separately applied detail to be installed by the modeler. Both models were renumbered and Loksound 5 was installed along with LEDs. To finish them off, they received yellow reflective frame stripes.
Weathering An HO Scale SD70ACe
Просмотров 27 тыс.2 года назад
Welcome to the first all-out detailed weathering project on the channel. I bought this UP SD70ACe with the intention to weather it and this is how it came out. Used about every trick in the book from washes to airbrushing to powders to kick up spray. This unit will be for sale eventually but for now I'm enjoying watching it run. Thanks for watching! Painting An N Scale Southern Pacific E9
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.2 года назад
On today's episode of "I can't believe I painted that," I work on my first N scale model which was a commission from a friend. It is an EMD E9 by Kato painted to represent Southern Pacific 6051 in the bloody nose scheme. This scheme isn't all that complicated but the size of the model and shape of the nose made it a little more challenging but all in all not that much harder. On this model, I u...
Repainting An HO Scale Rapido SW1200
Просмотров 10 тыс.2 года назад
In this video, I repaint a Rapido SW1200 (Southern Pacific) into a customer's protofreelanced railroad called Sierra Central. This is the first in the fleet of a few engines painted for SCRR whose paint scheme is based off W. Allen McClelland's Virginia & Ohio. This model was surprisingly difficult to take apart but seeing how it was built taught me a few tricks I can apply to my own models. Ti...
Building An HO Scale ALCO RS27 Part 2 | Sound, Lights & Weathering

This is part two of an HO Scale RS27 build which covers DCC & sound installation, lighting and weathering. This model was commissioned by a customer wanting a "Protofreelanced" model of an RS27 locomotive operated by Genesee & Wyoming's First Coast Railroad. Since FCRR does not own any RS27s, one of FCRR's GP7s was used as a reference for details such as weathering. The model has ESU LokSound a...

Epic 🎉
It looks like the Chiapas mayab railroad by genesi Wyoming
Awesome job that much detail and time and effort on your behalf to share thank you
What strength of Isopropyl alcohol did you use for the stripping paint? Very Good. Thanks !
Excellent video, you forgot to mention that specific decoder for ESU you do not need resistors for LEDs, bur for other decoders and models you must use at least 1K resistor
Nice work.
This is better than the heritage unit we got today
Where did you get the micro sringe for the black wash
Grime beats graffiti every time. 🐙
Cool
What is that your squirting into the grooves..?
I love this. I'm trying to make a Utah Railway in this color scheme. I'm freaked out because I don't have any talent.
Great work, how much does it cost to customize a model and how long do you take to customize it?
Excellent'e trabajo
What a nightmare.
Man i wanna come to your house so badly to see that :[ (not being weird btw)
Impressive ! Very Inspiring.
Lookin good!!!!!
Hi from England 👋 they sound great there's a nice bottom end bass I'm guessing gp38 & gp60
What is the fascination with Rapido trains?s I think they are way overpriced for a piece of plastic. I'd much rather spend the same amount and get a nice brass locomotive that will still be here long after I'm gone. Then I don't do DCC as I hate the tinny sound of HO DCC. If I want loco sounds I'll just turn on the stereo and toot on my wooden whistles. Do you paint brass models for folks? Cheers from eastern TN
Have a few undec Dash 9's as well.. I was wondering how did you know where each part went?.. Most I can figure out, but a few i will be clueless about, guess I will bve watching ths video often during the build. Engines look great finished
I own and have worked on a few ScaleTrains GEs so I had enough references on were to put everything. Anything else was just a guess.
@@sonomacustommodels Thats what I will end up doing mysef... have a few Scaletrains GE's myself
I don't know why they would use plastic handrails on an expensive loco. I hate the sound of HO DCC sound. It sounds so tinny. I'm strictly a DC guy. Atheran are the best models which I have besides the Atlas. I make my own rust for weathering. I take 2 rolls of 0000 steel wool and put it in a quart jar and fill it with white vinegar and set it in the window for a couple of months. Then I pour the mixture into a stainless steel 11X14 inch photo processing tray (any flat container will do) and wait for a couple of weeks for it to dry. I use a single edge razor blade and pulverize the "rust" into a fine powder for use as a weathering powder. It looks real 'cause it IS real rust. I usually heavily weather all my rolling stock and old engines. I've got three new Atlas engines I'm a little cautious about weathering, but I eventually will do it. Cheers from a 72 year old modeler from eastern TN
Great job love these Alcos - Thank you again...
Good video as this popped in my feed. Always willing to learn another technique or how others did. One comment though, you didn't need to thin that paint. You are shooting Model Air, which is airbrush ready.
Great job
Awesome
Very nice job.
Absolutely beautiful. If you are an NMRA member you should show this of at the next RED meeting you could win $50
Nice job! At first I thought you were using tamiya for the panel lines, but ammo works good too. Not many people know about or use the oil dot fade, overall, it looks good.I'm guessing you had an issue with the ditch lights not working due to the pogo pins not making contact, otherwise, why did you put a kadee washer under the pad? Sounds good and looks good pulling a consist. Terry
Thanks. The panel liner is in fact made by Tamiya. The kadee washer was in there when I took the model apart. Perhaps they had issues at the factory.
@@sonomacustommodels Yes, their new AC4400s have an issue with the ditch light.
Great work! It just takes patience and basic tools. Proof is in the pudding, If you do the job carefully you can make everything look great!
Great work and realism - cracking video thanks for sharing 👍😊💜✌️ What did you thin the Ammo Oilbrusher with please (it doesn't seem like oil paint per se) 🤔🤞👍✌️💜
Cool
Promo`SM 🤷
Thats looks way better than the official CSX Chessie heritage. Wish they would of did the complete paint scheme like this. Plus CSX made the chessie system wording and logo too small on theres.
Great job and thanks for sharing lots of really good weathering tips
Awesome, really good! Thanks for showing each step in such clarity.
NICE paint work! (You must be an Iowa Hawkeye fan, too 😂)
Very well done, thank you for posting!
awesome video! it turned out great!
thats the wrong prime mover sound file
It is the Econami's EMD 710 v16. It is as correct as you can get on that decoder.

How?
What’s the best way to get custom decals made/make them yourself for models? Is there a software system that can be used, or do you get the decals from the customer?
I get my custom decals from Fusion Scale Graphics. I just submit the artwork in .png form. If the customer doesn't have graphic, I can generally design them.
OK? O_O
PLEASE O_O
Please
I need to buy it
I need it
I wish I need to buy it please 🥺🥺🥺
That SD80MAC wears the Chessie colors very well.
Do you still have access to these decals?
This model came to me already painted. Unfortunately I can't find any available.
