    I am not sure if you can help answering this question, If I ask you paddleboard as a kayak or a kayak ? which you will choose and why? I am not fishing, I do mainly rivers and sometimes lake michigan, I like the openspace of the paddleboard but I am not sure about speed, tracking and handling choppy waves.

      If I needed the storage space and had a budget less than $400-500, I would do a Paddleboard as a kayak. If I had a place to store and easy transportation of a kayak or a budget For a high quality inflatable kayak, I would do the kayak.

    Very informative, just got vinyl solid/soft(webbing) dinghy handles for the additional four attachment points, have to add d-rings to the webbing ones, now i know I will add cushion pocket to at least one of the two cheap type that came with the cheap kayak, but won't be used other than a towable, as the cheap deal kayak($100.can) was just the cheapest option for seats and paddles to use with the far preferable (14psi)SUP ($236.can) that now thanks to your information, will be more safe and comfortable than heavier (0.7psi)kayak, good advising, for my near future industrial sewing(adding d-rings to glue-on patches, and additional height pocket for soft fold up seats) of course gonna glue the patches to my high-end home-depot discount SUP. I'm dumb, but I'm not a dweeb!

    Not sure how this came into my feed but glad it did. Been thinking about getting the first one from HALA as at this point I am probably 85% sitting. I am also very large so really glad you added that into this video. I don't mind just sitting on the board but yes I am always wet and yes my back starts to hurt some but that is when I just lay back for a bit or stand or kneel. Never thought of these others and my only question would have been how much are they in the way when switching positions. Awesome job and thanks for saving me the money on one that sounds like I would have hated.

    How can a ten inch seat be any less stable than me standing up

    • @texaspaddleboard7797
      @texaspaddleboard7797 Месяц назад

      Fair question. It’s less stable vs other seats that are lower, which was the comparison I was referring to. But seats with legs are “different” than standing because when you are seated you cannot shift weight from side to side (foot to foot) like when you are standing.

    Do you happen to know the operating voltage for the battery powered inflator. Your photo indicated they use 10 batteries. Based on that it's not a 12v system but a 18v system 5S2P This potentially can offer 200 plus watts as opposed to the 12v car plug system as it is limited to 12a or 144W.

    Really enjoyable videos! I wanted to add another seating alternative I used to use in my Meyers Sportspal Canoe, just a folding blade footed lawn chair. Similar to a Larry Chair but a bit higher seating. So, with my new inflatable SUP, I did order its available kayak seat but decided to buy a Pooya Folding Camping Chair from Wayfair (cheaper than a kayak seat and free shipping). It is rated to 265 lbs. and I have yet to receive it but I think it'll work great. So, for someone who wants to fish and paddle primarily standing but wants to sit down to re-tie or eat lunch or fish sitting, this is a good and light alternative to add to, say, a cooler seat. This one weighs 6 lbs. and can be strapped to a SUP just like any other. I'm here in Texas, will let you know how it works out.

    • @texaspaddleboard7797

      If you don't have D-Rings, you can either buy d-ring patches, (search amazon for SUP D Ring) or use a tie-down strap after the board is fully inflated (this isn't ideal, and will create drag in the water). It's okay to use a seat without attaching it if you're on a lake or somewhere calm.

    Hear me out. You buy a zip close mattress cover to sleep in as a sort of a sleeping bag. You find out that it's almost air tight but it has a slow leak. You want to buy an air pump to keep fresh air flowing in to your make shift sleeping bag. You also don't want the air pump to be running all night and you aren't able to sleep. So you decide to find an air pump that has a scheduled timer for every 15 minutes or so. What do you buy?

    • @texaspaddleboard7797
      @texaspaddleboard7797 11 месяцев назад

      heh - I love the creative problem to solve. My guess is it's easier to solve the 15-minute timer requirement by using a power supply that has a built in timer (like the kind that people use to turn their lamps on while they are away on vacation, etc). Pumps are louder than fans, so I would the smallest bust strongest and quietest fan, use something like a funnel/dryer vent to channel in the air. I have an amazingly quite and strong OPLOAR fan about 8" in diameter that is battery powered and lasts more than 8 hours per charge.
