It's so great to see the Lions staff so competent, and so pumped! It's magnificent to see after watching them struggle so badly my whole life. (Remember this era: They drafted another wide receiver? They drafted another wide receiver? LOL) Thanks guys, for making my "golden years" a lot sweeter!!!

When they got rid of their two starters from 2022 I thought, here we go again.... I'm happy being wrong!

That Vikings game when D-Mo was out temporarily with an injury to the knee had all us Lions Fans worried (thank god he was okay) but anyways that game genuinely showed that even if we lose one of our RBS the other one has still been able to take over solo and put on a great performance for the team. Love my Lions!

I feel like I was one of the only guys who loved the Gibbs pick when he was drafted.

He and Monty take a huge part of the workload off each other. Instead of running an apex RB1 into the ground, the Lions take turns with their stud RBs to give them rest. Monty smashes to begin the game, Gibbs tires the defense out, then the final few drives come in, and if it's close Monty channels Adrian Peterson and smashes a gassed defense harder (see: Lions-Rams OT this year). And that's not even getting into how the run game sets up the intermediate and deep shots off play-action, which Goff EXCELS at, or how our offensive coordinator is a psychopath who calls trick plays like it's just another day. The whole offense is just a MACHINE.

I loved the pick at the time. He's a Saban-boy and what's not to love about a Kamara-esque RB in the backfield with Chris Johnson-like speed? Gibbs can play some football. He can play left, he can play right, don't make no difference. He can block, tackle, score the touchdown, snap the ball, and kick the extra point. Hell, the boy will fill up the Gatorade cooler, walk the dog, and paint your back porch. I'm telling ya, the boy can plain outplay football.

It should not have been very a big surprise at all. The Lions had wanted a two headed attack all along, and also wanted the two different styles. The season before drafting Gibbs They had the power guy in Jamaal Williams, and the quick cut speedster D'andre Swift. Jamaal Williams was asking for too much money and the Lions saw the opportunity to pick up Montgomery. Swift had been on the way out of Detroit going back a few years because unfortunately he couldn't stay healthy.

In Brad Holmes we trust. Seriously the rate that he hits on draft picks is unreal. Almost all his picks are still on the team... Everyone questioned the Gibbs pick, reality Holmes might be setting the new trend in running back use.

LOL Gibbs was my favorite player coming out of that draft just his speed alone was worth the pick but add his vision and GRIT he is shall I say Barryesk

Excellent video and analyst! I think the two back concept is great! In some cases it hasn't work as well as this and they may have to do with coaching and not getting the right combination of backs.

The Lions drafted Gibbs, Swift asked for release. Lions released Swift. Then signed Montgomery. In that order.

@ 6 min ish, Raiders player # 21 is Amik Robertson. He became a Lion this season because he makes tackles like that in open field. The man is an excellent football player.

Great job, Alex. If anyone complains about you showing the same play multiple times in a row while you continue talking, ignore them. We would be having to rewind over and over again and you are doing it for us, meanwhile giving spot on commentary.

Superbowl window.....4-6 years? Minimum? They should be good for awhile, having locked up many players for the next 3-4 years, thinking more about that, if some of the more "expensive" players like winning Superbowls more than taking huge chunks of cash, instead of sensible amounts, I could see this window, considering how the lions have drafted the last couple of years, lasting far longer. Brad Holmes, Dan Campbell, AG, and Ben Johnson might just be able to put the Lions in Dynasty mode.

As a Lions fan i didnt know who he was but when we drafted him i saw Alabama and said ok good start lol Then he plays like Alvin Kamara i knew we would be straight

I was so irritated by all the hate on the Gibbs pick. At that point I had 100% faith in Brad Holmes and trusted whatever he decided. It definitely worked out. Now he has half the team's carries and is 4th in the league in rushing yards.

The Lions are golden when they drafted such good players,talented, smart,driven.Monty and Gibbs especially are high performance racecars.noone ,is more fun to watch than our Lions.

Jah is the epitome of a "passes the eye test" player. As soon as you take the time to watch him play, the realization is instantaneous. It's even better in person, he's just an unreal talent. I remember sitting on the couch watching him play in a Lions uni for the first time against the Chiefs. My friends and I were giddy like children, hopping up and down on the couches screaming about how good he was every time he got the ball. Jah is him. Monty is also a criminally underrated RB. He may be the most elusive power back in the league. Excellent Video, go Lions!

Know what I'm seeing? A very talented set of offensive line men that are extremely well coached.

Lions get laughed at for the Kneecaps, for drafting Gibbs, for sticking with Goff. If anyone is laughing now it's nervous laughter because the lions have had an iron grip on the #1 spot in anyone sensible's power rankings for several weeks now.

I just had a good feeling about him on draft night when they showed the highlights of his speed after Detroit selected him. About aa close to Barry as you can get for Detroit in a long time. Sonic & Knuckles Need to get some merchandise going. I'll buy it, hats, shirts & sweats?

I agree with the Raiders being his ‘breakout’ game. I disagree with his impact. He had a huge impact game 1. He just didn’t have a big explosive. Had some critical runs in that game. A little tidbit, prior to Gibbs ever playing an NFL game, multi time Super Bowl winning defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo said it would be all eyes on him when he was in a game. That speaks volumes.

I was a lil upset that we got rid of swift at that time cause he was my favorite RB but ain't mad that we got Gibbs and D Mo, definitely worth it plus Swift was always getting hurt with us

It was strange at the time considering we had Swift at the time, but once we dumped him the after we drafted Gibbs, the pick made a lot more sense

The Lions didn't trade back up to get the 12th pick to draft Gibbs. That was one of of the two picks they got from Arizona for the 6th overall pick. Other than that fairly minor inaccuracy, this was a really good video, so well done there.
