If you look deeper into his numbers there is a reason why he had so many drops. Essentially he only had one season with a very bad drop percentage and he had a broken hand during the season. All his other seasons he averaged a better drop percentage then people like davante Adam’s and others. I don’t remember the numbers to be exact but I don’t believe the drops are a huge concern.

  • @montezuumah

Worthy played with a broken hand the year he had all those drops..
Most guys wouldn't have even played like that but he's obviously a team-first guy who's not worried about stats etc that could hurt his draft stock..
Edit: other than that most important note, great video.. you know American football

It's well to note, I believe, Worthy played a lot of recent snaps with a broken hand. If he can withstand the pressure of playing in the NFL, 'cos it looks like some Chiefs crumbled when it came to show time, then I hope he becomes a huge star. I do worry a defender will try to obliterate him in the tackle, but Andy Reid has worked with speedy, smaller framed guys in the past, so if there is anyone who can make good things happen, it's him. I do not want to see is a turgid Chiefs offence. I want fireworks. I want fun. I want Mahomes torching defences.

Kelce did not have a "down year." It was 16 yards short of 8-straight 1,000 yard seasons in just 15 games. Plus, playoffs.
Otherwise, this was a decent video/evaluation. I think Chiefs fans need to be a little patient with Worthy until he has been on the field halfway through the season. If he is able to make 2-3 catches per game and get the defense to back up some early on, I consider it a win. With Kelce, Brown, and Rice going into the season I like our chances. I think Jared Wiley will be a legit red-zone target, also. Especially in 2 TE sets near the endzone. I think Worthy, Watson, Hardman, and Moore all make the team. I am not sure about Toney.

I feel like the chiefs will play him as a starter if he starts the season off well. The chiefs usually play their first round picks at the beginning off the season so if he shows flashes he will probably not lose that spot

Andy has a tendency to bring his receivers along pretty slowly though. Last year, with Rice, was an anomaly, since they literally had no one else to go to much of the time.
Andy usually wants his WRs to know all three positions before he’ll trust them to full playing time. I do believe he’ll be used quite a bit though.

    • @goldenageofdinosaurs7192

Worthy’s drop rate really isn’t that bad. In his junior year, he played most of the season with a broken hand, which skewed his stats (and film, I’d imagine) a bit. If you take out that 3/4ths of the season, his drop rate is better, or very close to, Marvin Harrison Jr & other highly ranked WRs from the ‘24 class.

Let's refresh all you youngin's on some NFL history. A benchmark for Hall of Fame is often Tiki Barber. Tiki was notorious for dropping the ball.
it got to the point where the coach adopted some high school and college tactics, whereby Tiki was forced rt carry a football everywhere he went,
And team mates were given a green light to attempt to swat it out of his hangs.
Also, Tiki adopted a carrying style that increased his chances of maintaining the ball at all times.
all this to say, so many narratives freak out over drops, fumbled passes, and the such.
With regards to fumbles, this can be coached out of a player.
Dropped passes are the responsibility of both the QB and receiver until such time as the receiver has it.
I.e. if the QB continuously incorrectly passes behind the receiver, it's not the receiver's fault.
This too can be coached out.
So my advice to everyone. Don't blame the player, as it's the coaches that need to step up and curb this behavior.

    • @TheRealcdawg22
      @TheRealcdawg22 25 дней назад

@IGI_Media Tiki Barber would not have had the statistics that he did, had he not had Plaxico Burress holding defensive backs downfield on virtually every significant sized run.
I do not dispute your insight on fumbling/coaching. I am just not a fan of the treatment that benefited Tiki Barber.
