Lake Mulwala Free Camping & Fishing Year 3 Episode 20 Travelling Australia
Lake Mulwala
What a massive, healthy lake full of Murray Cod and multiple breeds of birds everywhere.
We stayed at Kyffins Reserve which is looked after by the council and is completely free. You can stay for 14 nights on one of the waterfront sites or further back on the open reserve. Council collects the garbage twice a week, although there isn’t any facilities on site the public toilets, dump point & potable water is only 3 minutes down the road at Owen’s Bridge Park which also has a playground BBQ’s and boat ramp on Lake Mulwala.
The fishing! We put the tinny in and could leave it moored directly in front of our campsite about 20 steps away from the caravan. There are 3 boat ramps along ...

Last time i watch any of your videos
Well you sound very uneducated when it comes to throwing rubbish around .... I'll spell out a few things you should look up in Australia PFAS.. asbestos...fertiliser runoff to the great barrier reef . your still blame global warming. Landfill ect. Rubbish LOL you should keep to your side of the fence after everything youz have done to them rapping of women and children trying to breed the black out of us and even your government you so dearly trust wrote a few pages on how they wanted to breed the black out of us ... not to mention global company's like black Rock taking billions and billions of dollars from the land that never belonged to youz in the first place this government has even sold you down the drain because they have sold most of the country to overseas buyers LOL I hope if a war brakes out your willing to fight for it because I know everyone I work with said they wouldn't it would just be great to see what it would look like when some other country invades and rappes you and your children and they take everything from your families and leaves you nothing......????? You should think before opening you stupid mouth LOL and since your in the NT you should look up cotton farmers in the northern Territory and what its doing the natural spring and ground water ....wake up stupid women
I have booked this cruise for my family for next Jan 2025, does the cruise have a shuttle bus to and from Brisbane airport? or do I have to book a Taxi or uBer instead? Thanks
Yes you can book a shuttle bus via P&O you can find this option by logging into your cruise control and make the booking from there. Have a great time! We cruise again in 5 days out of Sydney this time.
Great video guys , Mulwala is a great fishery..I see you have a 1500 Ram..Does it have a GVM Upgrade and how do you go with rear axle weight? Cheers...
@@peterbeadman5115 Hey! Thanks Yes Mulwala is amazing, would love to pull in one of those monster cods we see others catching (we’ll keep trying) Yes the Ram has had a GVM Upgrade with Lovell’s 3950kg our axle weight was boarder line so we moved the boat motor to the front of the tray inside the canopy and now only have 1 fridge in the canopy (we did have 2 a fridge & freezer)
does the single hooks and no cast nets apply to everyone or only whites
A 4 metrie puts this chin on ya gunnel ya gunna know about it…. 🇦🇺🍻😜
Excelelnt video. Just curious did you need any local currency or did you just pay in Aussie dollars on the islands? Cash or card?
Thank-you! We have done both, the first time we changed our currency on the ship, it’s not a very good exchange rate, but this time we just used Aussie dollar (small notes & coins, they usually don’t have Aussie change) & our NAB debit card - we notified the bank that we will be overseas. I would do the second option if we ever went again.
Perfect thank you!
I miss my home TI
We really loved TI everyone is sooo friendly and the Island is beautiful
Hi, next year i will be going on the Pacific Island hopper cruise. Can i ask what kind of travel insurance you guys had for this cruise? This will be my first time on a cruise and i read that this cruise requires travel insurance.
To be honest I don’t remember who I went through, I always just look for one (by google - go past all the “Ad” advertising) for around $200 that covers us both for ambulance & hospital cover when we do a cruise, I don’t bother with extra cover for luggage or if we need to cancel as the price of the coverage is about the same as booking another short cruise, I just go with whatever the basic policy covers, I do check the reviews on the company. We are in America atm and I used “Insure and Go” for $995 but that is top cover with everything included, they also cover cruise insurance. Hope you love your cruise! We are doing one while we are here to the Bahama’s, it will be interesting to see how, or if it’s different to P&O Cruises.
Another great video from the Forbes crew. How's the new caravan going?
Thank-you!! We are loving the new caravan, especially the extra height clearance being fully off road, we can get into heaps more great spots now 😁
It’s an excellent spot for a stopover. Thank-you, we are really happy with it.
Hey Kerrie how are you and dad doing these days?
Hi Chris, Going great, very much loving seeing Australia. Dad has always wanted to see the Great Ocean Road so we bought him along for this trip, he is really enjoying it 😁Hope you guys are doing ok.
So cool to hear everyone is enjoying the trip. I waved to you from across the bay when you were in Geelong earlier
Thursday Island that's great !
Thursday Island is a real eye opener, going from dirt, dust & few shops etc to a town with just about everything you’ll ever need, we certainly wasn’t expecting that.
Stayed there last year on the way to sons wedding in Melbourne. Top spot! Congrats on the new van....very nice !
Thank-you, it’s definitely one of our favourite places to stay in Victoria 😁
Lovely Ep and spot and fish guys.
Nice content ,i liked it.more love from @bizzybee019.kenya, east africa
Hi J & K pleased to meet you both. We look forward to catching your journey. Also that map is pretty cool 😊
Great video. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the Base Camp. Thanks being our first repeat customers. - Shane & Mark
Hey guys, Thank-you. We can’t wait to get back to NT, and Dundee, it’s definitely been our favourite destination so far 👍
Love the video especially the “Shckin like shit “ bit 💕😋💕
Haha Thanks 👍 I was never scared of heights, it never bothered me one bit, but as Ive got older I just start shaking uncontrollably 🤷🏻♀️ and Thank-you for watching 😁
Does the Berry Springs cafe sell any merch?
Not from what we seen, but they possibly could, sorry not much help with this one, we only saw drinks, ice blocks, minimal food menu & noodles. The service station in Berry Springs has stubby holders, stickers, hats, shirts etc that’s where we got ours 😁
It'll be a cold day in hell before Harry Flugleman let's an actor tell him what to do!😡
Thank-you! We love our cruise’s they are such good value for money. Hope you have the best time! Be sure to see all the shows & try all the activities even if you think it’s not something you’d normally do, you’ll be surprised how much you actually enjoyed it. After 6 cruises we haven’t seen a bad show yet. But the best part is you wake up in the morning, have a huge breakfast served to you, go back to your room, the bed is made, bathroom cleaned, go do a show or activity, then your 3 course lunch is served, an afternoon nap, show or activity and your dinner is ready to be served to you, and the food OMG 😁
Wow, I’m going on this cruise in September, I can wait after watching this tour. You earned a like and a subscriber😅
Can't keep away from mines can you shory
G’day Reidy, Yer mate, I didn’t have to do much work at this one 🤣
Come back to daly river🎉
We definitely will be going back to the Daly River 👍 But maybe not this year unfortunately.
Love your videos , lovely part of the country , I bet those cheriban tasted divine . Safe travels 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank-you so much 😁 Yes they were yummy, it’s hard to pick between Cheriban & an Ocean Prawn now that we’ve tried both 🦐🍤
Definitely a beautiful place. Great video
It’s so remote on Goat Island. Good for a holiday or short time but I think we’d get bored very quickly, especially if King Kai wasn’t there for entertainment 😂
Can any visitor go to the crossing at Tipperary ?
Hi Steve, unfortunately not at this crossing, the access is via private property on Tipperary Station, but there is public access to another crossing and the river further upstream via Douglas Daly, directions to get there are in our Douglas Daly Video.
Wow what a lovely ep and good fish and crabs. well done guys one of the best vids on Utube I ve seen lately with no BS or or legal porn
Thank-you Craig for your great supportive comment. The fishing was definitely kind to us during our visit to Dundee, such an awesome part of Australia.
Great video very interesting.
Thank-you Peter. There is definitely plenty of Crocodiles to see here 🐊
supeer video-work. :)
Thank-you and Thanks for watching 😁
Great video it looks like a fantastic spot
Thanks 👍 We absolutely loved our time spent at Darwin, missing it already.
Looks like a beautiful place
It sure is Peter, only drawback is the midgies are extremely friendly here 😳
Great vid of dundee,, looks like good fishing / crabbing spot ......
Thank-you! Dundee is definitely a favourite destination in Northern Territory for us and we were very lucky to have great fishing during our stay.
Cảm ơn bạn đã chia sẻ à 😊😊😊. Chúc bạn và gia đình buổi tối tốt lành vui vẻ và nhiều sức khỏe à 😊. Like 3 🤣🤣🤣 👍.
Thank-you 😁
Great video what a beautiful place
Thank-you Peter, it’s definitely a favourite NT location 😁
What a beautiful place.great video. Don't you love the dirty old cat fish lol
Great video great place. Don't fall out of the boat hell of a lot of crocodiles
Thank-you. Yes it’s an amazing fishing spot. There sure is a lot of Croc’s, we were quiet happy to get out of the boat and on land at the barrage, thankfully it wasn’t very far to go to get there 😁 Thanks for watching our crazy adventure
I used to go on early morning swim in the pool,as a teenager at 6am with my ma and auntie here. Bermaguii was my home, thanks for showing me I’m now 64 and hope to visit with my daughter sometime in the future to show her where I grew up.❤
Bermagui is a beautiful area, we could definitely live there. We would love to visit again when the whales are migrating. Thanks for watching and I hope you get a chance to get back there soon.
Beautiful Gorge and good effort with the cake 😋
The Gorge is constantly changing the further you go into it. The cake mix is definitely cheating but it is yummy with the added fruit & custard. Thanks for watching!
Gotta be careful with the cross counted 32 one night at the barrage
After seeing for ourselves how many are there I absolutely wouldn’t doubt there was that many there. We was lucky enough to have 20 people fishing with us & watching everywhere for them. The good old saying - safety in numbers makes better odds 😂🐊
Great video thank you , I’ve not been up to the pools there , can you be sure there’s no lizards up there where your swimming ( I have a healthy respect for them 😬🐊 cheers
Hi Liz, I don’t believe we can ever be sure that no lizards are present, we can only hope the Croc checks are carried out as best as possible but there is always a chance they can sneak past. There has been a few places that was Croc cleared but we still didn’t swim as it just didn’t feel right. Thanks for watching 😁
❣️ 'Promo SM'
Great write up mate on the FB page. Led me to here. Look forward to the vid. Might see you on the road. I've got to do a quick vid on my recent Arnhem Land travels. Cheers 🍻🎣
Thank-you! We’ll definitely be watching your Arnhem Land video, it’s on our bucket list but I think we’ve left our run to late for this year so it will have to be with our trip doing the Gulf of Carpentaria area. Thanks for watching, definitely give us a holler if you see us anywhere 😀
How long can you stay there for?
As long as you like, there is currently no time frame on camping here, it’s so peaceful & relaxing I could stay forever ❤
You are not allowed to fish in the ocean at Brou i’ve been there many times
Really? Where can I find this information please? We are always really careful to check this especially in N.P. This is what I found on the National Park Website for Brou Lake Campground - Brou Lake campground offers free camping for tents, small caravans and camper trailers. It’s a scenic spot, near the beach and lake, great for fishing and paddling. Fishing safety - Fishing from a boat, the beach or by the river is a popular activity for many national park visitors. If you’re planning a day out fishing, check out these fishing safety tips. DPI WEBSITE - Until further notice the DPI will allow catch & release in this zone, Brou Lake South Sanctuary Zone. As of 12th Dec 2019.
You can fish from the shore. Drones arn't allowed though.@@jandkaussietravel
Its a bird sanctuary breeding zone
Stunning camp!
It Sure is, This has been one of our favourite in Northern Territory and it’s completely free which makes it even better 😁👍
Loved our stay there, did they have a band while you were there?? Springs open while we were there to. Excellent, We even downloaded the old movie, We of the never never and watched. Thanks for the memories. Ken and Julie.
Hi Ken & Julie, Our pleasure, Thank-you for watching. Yes they had a band over in the restaurant at Territory Manor, also a band at Mataranka before the whip cracking show. They really look after the tourists around here.
When were you here? Is this the one that they closed for the croc?
Yes unfortunately Bitter Springs is currently closed due to a Crocodile. Our videos are about 6 weeks behind our actual travels, this was mid May when we was there.
