Lake Mulwala Free Camping & Fishing Year 3 Episode 20 Travelling Australia
Lake Mulwala
What a massive, healthy lake full of Murray Cod and multiple breeds of birds everywhere.
We stayed at Kyffins Reserve which is looked after by the council and is completely free. You can stay for 14 nights on one of the waterfront sites or further back on the open reserve. Council collects the garbage twice a week, although there isn’t any facilities on site the public toilets, dump point & potable water is only 3 minutes down the road at Owen’s Bridge Park which also has a playground BBQ’s and boat ramp on Lake Mulwala.
The fishing! We put the tinny in and could leave it moored directly in front of our campsite about 20 steps away from the caravan. There are 3 boat ramps along ...

    I have booked this cruise for my family for next Jan 2025, does the cruise have a shuttle bus to and from Brisbane airport? or do I have to book a Taxi or uBer instead? Thanks

    • @jandkaussietravel

      Yes you can book a shuttle bus via P&O you can find this option by logging into your cruise control and make the booking from there. Have a great time! We cruise again in 5 days out of Sydney this time.

      @@peterbeadman5115 Hey! Thanks Yes Mulwala is amazing, would love to pull in one of those monster cods we see others catching (we’ll keep trying) Yes the Ram has had a GVM Upgrade with Lovell’s 3950kg our axle weight was boarder line so we moved the boat motor to the front of the tray inside the canopy and now only have 1 fridge in the canopy (we did have 2 a fridge & freezer)

    Excelelnt video. Just curious did you need any local currency or did you just pay in Aussie dollars on the islands? Cash or card?

    • @jandkaussietravel
      @jandkaussietravel 4 месяца назад

      Thank-you! We have done both, the first time we changed our currency on the ship, it’s not a very good exchange rate, but this time we just used Aussie dollar (small notes & coins, they usually don’t have Aussie change) & our NAB debit card - we notified the bank that we will be overseas. I would do the second option if we ever went again.

    Hi, next year i will be going on the Pacific Island hopper cruise. Can i ask what kind of travel insurance you guys had for this cruise? This will be my first time on a cruise and i read that this cruise requires travel insurance.

    • @jandkaussietravel
      @jandkaussietravel 5 месяцев назад

      To be honest I don’t remember who I went through, I always just look for one (by google - go past all the “Ad” advertising) for around $200 that covers us both for ambulance & hospital cover when we do a cruise, I don’t bother with extra cover for luggage or if we need to cancel as the price of the coverage is about the same as booking another short cruise, I just go with whatever the basic policy covers, I do check the reviews on the company. We are in America atm and I used “Insure and Go” for $995 but that is top cover with everything included, they also cover cruise insurance. Hope you love your cruise! We are doing one while we are here to the Bahama’s, it will be interesting to see how, or if it’s different to P&O Cruises.

Be sure to see all the shows & try all the activities even if you think it’s not something you’d normally do, you’ll be surprised how much you actually enjoyed it. After 6 cruises we haven’t seen a bad show yet. But the best part is you wake up in the morning, have a huge breakfast served to you, go back to your room, the bed is made, bathroom cleaned, go do a show or activity, then your 3 course lunch is served, an afternoon nap, show or activity and your dinner is ready to be served to you, and the food OMG 😁

This is what I found on the National Park Website for Brou Lake Campground - Brou Lake campground offers free camping for tents, small caravans and camper trailers. It’s a scenic spot, near the beach and lake, great for fishing and paddling. Fishing safety - Fishing from a boat, the beach or by the river is a popular activity for many national park visitors. If you’re planning a day out fishing, check out these fishing safety tips. DPI WEBSITE - Until further notice the DPI will allow catch & release in this zone, Brou Lake South Sanctuary Zone. Hi Ken & Julie, Our pleasure, Thank-you for watching. Yes they had a band over in the restaurant at Territory Manor, also a band at Mataranka before the whip cracking show. They really look after the tourists around here.

      Yes unfortunately Bitter Springs is currently closed due to a Crocodile. Our videos are about 6 weeks behind our actual travels, this was mid May when we was there.
