This is a good dish, I make it with grated carrots as well as the cabbage onion,garlic,and eggs,never used cheese,or bacon, I like the leftovers for breakfast the next day😊

Smashing recipe Ian. Cabbage is so delicious stir fried like that. This is also good with courgette zoodles. I actually love making more of vegetables, so much better than just boiled veg on a plate. Don’t throw your cabbage core away, make soup with it. Or, it can go in a stock pot. Save the pennies lol. Xxx

So the cabbage is in place of the pasta. But normal carbonara doesn’t have mascarpone in it. It’s a good twist on it though, with less calories. I love cabbage. 👍❤️👍

As I’ve said before I hate the fish Ian but I’m definitely going to try that for himself and I will definitely use the marinade for a bit of chicken for myself. And omg. The only time I’ve seen mand help you was rolling out some pastry which you told us she did it. Absolutely know you do your own work and to be perfectly honest I could do with mand helping me with my pastry 😂😂😂. Don’t put any mind to anyone that says anything about you guys. Honestly there are some petty people out there if they find fault with your videos. Real people cooking good wholesome food. That’s what the world needs right now. Back to basics. Ian, that looks delicious, might even try it myself, I’m type 2 diabetic and trying to reverse it on low carb so wonder if you could do any low carb healthy recipes, I’m getting into cooking this year trying to make it cheaper to live being a pensioner. How about a ‘Traditional Welsh Lobscouse’. Very healthy for you, it’s a warm hearty stew full of veg and a bit of braising steak. Low calorie and perfect for these cold winter months. I just throw it all in the slow cooker in the morning, leave it to do its magic, and by evening it’s ready for you. Healthy comfort food

I'm a Chilli head mate would you like some of my cayenne peppers in powder form I will vacuum pack it for you let me know, the peppers are still growing and in about 3 weeks will be ready for harvest. The fish is similar to a Spanish dish I make. Really simple but delicious, also very healthy. I’m glad you said about making soup with the ends of the asparagus. I always do that. It’s such a shame to waste all that goodness and flavour. Plus, in these days, where money is tight, it’s an extra meal out of your groceries. So, not only great cooking Ian, but good housekeeping skills too. xx

I would have been tempted to make a lemon/butter sauce to fold over the asparagus myself and to add either capers or chopped small pieces of pickled gherkins with a final squeeze of lemon on top of the fish.
