Hi! I'm Bex, and I like to make things. I hope you enjoy watching me make things, because that's what this channel is all about.
Making a Constellation Quilt with a Haptic Lab Pattern
I love how this quilt turned out, but getting there was no walk in the park. Hand quilting is a marathon and as this was only my second time attempting hand quilting, many mistakes were made. Also, glow-in-the-dark thread is the worst...and yet I would still choose it again, because the effect is pretty neat.
There are many ways to make a thing and this is just the way I have found works for me.

Making a Quilt Coat
Просмотров 3,2 тыс.3 года назад
It's a blanket you can wear! My mother gave me an unfinished quilt that has been hanging around her house probably from before I was born, and asked me to quilt and finish it. However instead of making it into a boring blanket I wanted to try to make a coat with it (with her permission of course). Not shown in the video is the day I spent trying to alter a raglan t-shirt pattern into a pattern ...
Making a Leatherbound Notebook
Просмотров 763 года назад
I had wanted to make a notebook for my sister as a Christmas present...that didn't happen. Thankfully birthdays exist and I decided to make a more determined attempt this time. It was all fun and games until I got to the leather. When I tell you I struggled with this one, I mean I STRUGGLED with this one. The leather was too thick, I cut through it many times trying to thin it, I did not do the...
Making Homemade Paper (and a quick notebook)
Просмотров 963 года назад
Just like my fabric scraps laying around, I have kept my paper scraps as well. I think in my mind, I was going to use them to print on, but I don't know what I was thinking, because the scraps are too small. So I made paper out of paper! I had a lot of fun with this project. I added small pieces of tissue paper to some and I cut up some thread (also scraps from past projects) for others. The po...
Making a Braided Rag Rug
Просмотров 97 тыс.3 года назад
I have had a large bag of fabric scraps and old clothes hanging around in my closet for a while now, just accumulating more and more scraps over the years. The intention was to use them for a project such as this, and I've finally done the thing! The end result was a bit wonky and kind of an awkward size. But overall I am happy with it, and I love how colorful it is! There are many ways to make...
Making a Felt Pin Banner with crochet trim
Просмотров 1483 года назад
I purchased a cute enamel Sasquatch pin (he's holding a book!) from one of my favorite places, Powell's Book Store, and they needed a home. I was wary to start poking holes in my clothing and bags, so I decided upon making a pin banner to display my pin, and future pins. There are many ways to make a thing and this is just the way I have found works for me. Crochet pom pom edging tutorial: rucl...
Making a Block Print of my Logo

There are many ways to make a thing, and this is just the way I have found works for me. In this video I am carving Linoleum (Lino), which sits somewhere between wood carving and carving rubber stamps. BexTheMaker Instagram: bexthemaker
I love the square look. Thanks.
Thank you for showing how you cut the fabric/shirts. A lot of videos skip that whole step.
Anyone else having trouble with the rug puckering I m making a circle rug out of my recently deceased boyfriends t-shirts for my son and myself. I'm sewing them by hand and they were going pretty good until I had to fold them to bring them with me to work so I could work on it there and I was using my iron on steam setting but it started to puckering and bend and it isn't coming back to flat. Grrr
sounds like you shrunk the fabric with the hot steam! it should be okay. just keep going or unravel it a bit to loosen it. it will be wonderful once it's done
This is too good sister. Awesome technique you've got there❤
Ii was wondering how square rugs were made thanks
wow you're good
Absolutely beautiful! And thanks for the great tips on preparing fabrics.
Wow! Gorgeous and inspiring as I sit beside a mile high pile of old sheets and clothing!
😂
Замечательная работать ❤
What size zigzag did you use
Браво, Мастер!!! 🌹🌹🌹👍
Love the music and visual instruction, easy for me to follow, thanks 🙏🏼❤
Thank you🙏
I’m curious what kind of sewing machine you have?
Omg. This is all genius all the way. Super appreciative of how you just move along! Which is the BEST LESSON! Just DOING it is always a prize! I have made my own book press, but actually squealed when I saw your genius sewing frame! I have kitchen chairs that would serve that need and am very excited to give this a try. SO glad to have stumbled upon your channel!
Gorgeous! I love the square and this tutorial makes it seem so accessible-thank you
Love this tutorial and the music is charming! I have what is probably a dumb question, but if you wanted to make it more rectangular than square, would you start of with a longer first...overlap (not sure what that's called--the first two "rows" of braid that you zigzagged together at 3:01)? Or would that just make a bigger square? Oh! And I love how to continue a length of fabric without having sew them. Nice and efficient! Thank you!!
Hi! Have you tried making the rectangular rug?
Wow, so happy to have found you!. I have been looking for mat 2 metres Sq in beachy colours but haven't found one. Do you think it would be possible to make one that big please??. I can sew but wondering if it would be too much?
I've a huge pile of fabric in beachy colours to make a rug but had no idea x
I just made my first one and I’m pretty happy with it but after not selling for almost 20 years, I’m a bit out of practice lol and will keep this one for myself. what I’m going to do to change the next one to make it better.
Очень красиво у вас получилось!!
thank you very much for your tutorial that was easy to follow, first one I've come across I want to do. Thanks!
Wonder full video and outstanding outdoor weather beautiful and very soothing
Nise mam thank you
Great job!
Hooray for Upcycling fabrics that you already have.
Wow! That music, the weaving and the break you took to watch the snow falling. The only one other time I have been this calm was probably 22 years old, before stepping into this world. Listening to the "GREEN GREEN GARDEN" is a probably a must at least once a day from now! Thank you
Can you tell me what pattern you used? Thanks!
I love this tutorial! I always thought these rugs would be harder to make. May I ask though, how much yardage of braiding did you use and what was this rug finished size? My daughter is asking me to make her one like this for my granddaughter in a very specific space and I'd like to make sure I have enough fabric. Thanks!
I have the same questions! It's such a great project, but I need to know if I have enough fabric scraps. I'd definitely like a finished project that is at least as big as hers. So nice!
Brilliant and beautiful!! Thanks so much for sharing! ❤
I pick up as many tshirts as I can from yard sales and I use them in other projects and craft I do. This would be such a good way to use them.
🙏
Oh my goodness, that is absolutely incredible! 😍
Wow ❤️♥️♥️ so beautiful...I love it♥️♥️♥️new subscriber here from Denna's Craft.
