Empty, just how different is it to ride it than a normal bike? I think that's a lot of people's fear, that it will hold them back more than even a heavy old cruiser or something... Will one still go the same distances by bike...and so on...use it casually for pleasure...

I’m a bit astonished that there are so few user videos on the Tipke Foldit. I just got a folding e-bike for beach vacations and have been scheming to determine how I can use a bicycle trailer as a beach cart with few if any compromises. After months, I stumbled upon the Foldit. Unbelievably, it’s been around since the late 80’s and switches from wheelbarrow handles to bike yoke. Plus, it’s relatively lightweight, yet strong and it collapses into a flat pack for travel/ storage! Thanks for documenting your use case!

I live in eugene oregon. Not a big city by any means but certainly not small either. I've never owned a car. However, i DO own a big dummy.

Those side platforms also give you a flat surface for a tiny kitchen setup when you're parked - tiny pressured gas stove, prep surface, etc.

If you use a bike with a 3x10 system you have to change the chain at least every 2k miles and the rear sprocket every 4k as it wears out. And 2 or 4k miles is nothing if you use it on a daily basis. So if you plan to use your bike as replacement for your car then stock a lot of spares: rear hubs, spokes, tubes, tires, etc. . Maybe even think about a hub gear like Roloff for its longevity.

Good for normal cross country use also not necessary SHTF...

Just get a good mountain bike. 4 extra tires and 6 inner tubes. And a good tire pump. Most people aren’t going to handle a heavily laden bike. Not far anyways. But a rack on the back some panniers and leave top open for lashing and strapping stuff on. Water bottle holder is handy.

Ikn vietnam the NVA brought supplies south on bicycles , they would reinforce the frame they would have a long bar across the handlebar for leverage so they could control the weight they would carry up to 500 lbs

Great video. My wife bought me this same trailer for Fathers Day about 15 years ago. Thought it was too expensive when she gave it to me, but still looks almost new after weekly use either for our boat (walk to slip is about 1/4 of a mile from parking lot), 50-60 weekly beach trips with family and general around the house usage. Amazing trailer and will last forever. Reason I came across your video is that I am considering purchasing the bike handle and attachment, so was conducting a search for that part. Check out Bozeman, Montana and a lot of good videos and homelessness. Now I’m talking about homeless videos that they had 10 years ago. The current ones they make sound and look ghetto. It’s not really that way just pay attention to that video that people make 10 years ago then news people did a Bozeman Montana video for the news about 10 years ago. Very good. Very good video.

Boy Scouts is there a training for becoming homeless or house less or nomadic let’s call it nomad from now on. Can we all agree on that let’s stop the conversation and the homeless and let’s call people because it’s really what we are nomads. Say like I live in Maine, so we moved to Maine to Florida. We’re nomadic we relocated somewhere doesn’t matter if we moved to a campground and work in the summers there none of that matters we’re nomadic because we relocated.

I have information for everybody here. Tempe Arizona has a bicycle only community. It’s called the cul-de-sac? You can look it up. You cannot have an automobile while you’re living here one bedroom go for $1300 a month that is not a bad price at all. And I don’t know your name, but just not long ago maybe you ago you were talking about you know buy an old ghost town and turn it into a Bicycle community And they’re gonna build it I think it’s in Georgia Atlanta, Georgia I think I’m interested what people are thinking about this because it’s been talking about on this channel It’s in Tempe Arizona Let’s talk about this OK let’s have regular chatter about doing something like this. We can all do it. You know those of us that have like I’m a former and medically retired pipeliner so people like me you know we could all pull our money we could do this. And this community that I’m talking about there were no Asphalt, trails or pathways or roads. It is all pavers you know brick Let’s have a regular conversation about this on this channel.
