    In the Beethoven and Chopin/ Liszt days they would have arrested anyone for this crap. Today it's considered genius to doodle around on one note and pretending it's music.

    The exercises in Parts 2 and 3 are very good, but it would have been helpful if you had also included chord symbols for the Hanon-based exercises in Part 1.

    • @JuanOrtizPiano
      @JuanOrtizPiano 21 день назад

      Hi, thank you for the feedback. The chords are not written in the Part 1 because they are unison lines, and can be applied to a wide variety of different chords. It might be easier to consider them as small 4 group lines that you could use as enclosures or chromaticisms for your improvisations. Hope this helps! Best, J

      In the original melody they play Em7 in that part (that's why I wrote that chord), but you can apply this lick to other chords as well if you like!

    Good stuff here. Here's my strategies: 1.) It's all 2-5-1 series. 2.) REPLACE THE B7 with A7 to see the 2-5-1 to G. THIS IS IMPORTANT. If you do this, you unlock what's up with this tune and you'll see it's not that hard. 3.) There are basically 3 keys to this tone so you play scales in those key when they come up: G (or A-) F-, Eb-. Look...it's going down in scale. Lastly...bonus points if you can play melodies (REAL melodies) instead of playing arpeggios like our dear maestro's examples. You can do better if you play melodes with 2-5-1 basis.

    • @georgeallan6550
      @georgeallan6550 2 месяца назад

      @@JuanOrtizPiano Petersons introduction hints at the head so I count that as another rendering of the head. That's why it was stupid. It was anticlimatical to play the head after the long intro. Bad arrangeing.

    • @JuanOrtizPiano
      @JuanOrtizPiano 2 месяца назад

      @@georgeallan6550 I can just wonder why you keep calling this version "stupid". It's arguably one of the best jazz piano performances of all time. But if you don't like it, you can just move on with your life and listen to something else, while the rest of us enjoy it. Nobody is forcing you to keep coming back.

    When you play it slow, why do you play the c and the b natural with the thumb? Its unnecessarily complicated, just play from Eb on with the 4th finger, you do it in the original tempo too. Why show it slow to make it comprehensible yet it's worse?😂

    • @JuanOrtizPiano
      @JuanOrtizPiano 3 месяца назад

      You could have transcribed and memorized a whole new melody in the time you spent writing this message 😂 This is not classical music, fingering sometimes differs. You don’t think it’s the most convenient? That’s fine, figure out a better way for you and move on.

      @@JuanOrtizPiano YoU cOuLdVe TrAnScRi- shut the fuck up. If you really think fingering is only important in classical music, then you're really lost, mate...🤡 I bet you've never touched the C with 2nd finger nor a woman, have you? Why do I even care? I'll tell you why. I was looking for lines from that specific Solo and came across yours and frankly I was a little upset that your fingering was so off... if you upload this video for showcase purposes, just do it right man.
