What are Significant Figures and how do you figure them out?
Scientists use significant figures to represent the accuracy of quantitative measurements. In this video, Justine Siew and Glorianna Tarlton explain what Significant Figures are, how to determine which numbers are significant in a measurement, and how to determine significant figures after mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They also describe how scientists used significant figures to study the evolutionary impacts of a hurricane on lizard populations!

Make your Grading Policy more Equitable with Multiple Grading Schemes!
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.2 года назад
When you use multiple grading schemes, each student is graded according to multiple grading policies, and they receive the highest score. This way, a student who scores high on assessments but low on "effort" can receive a high course grade, while a student who scores low on assessments but high on effort is still rewarded for their effort. 0:00 Introduction 0:15 The Problem 3:20 The Solution: ...
Don't Grade Homework for Correctness! Here's why
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.2 года назад
Homework is an activity designed to help students learn, but learning is a mistake-making process. Don't penalize students for making mistakes while they practice and learn! In this video, Jayme Dyer explains why grading homework (and other activities that promote learning) for correctness inhibits the learning process, and she talks about what to do instead. If you're interested in reading mor...

M1V1=M2V2 (aka C1V1=C2V2) is a magical formula that lets you calculate chemical dilutions forward and backward. How much stock solution do you need to make a final solution with a desired concentration? If you dilute a certain amount of stock solution to a final solution, what is the final concentration? As long as you know 3 of the components, you can use algebra to determine the fourth! In th...

The semantics displayed here is cringe. Science does actually say God is the best explanation via deduction. Metaphysics requires God. Evolution could be true, but it’s more based on conjecture than observable Science (sorry, that’s the Truth!). You can’t prove God’s existence or evolution, but I’d place all my chips on God.

Respectfully, if you are a Christian you must believe what the Bible says. And the Bible says that God created Adam and Eve to reproduce and basically increase the Earth's population. The Bible does not mention the evolution of monkeys, but just Adam and Eve, therefore the evolution is false.
