Got the same turntable, but it won’t play, the record is spinning but I get no music, only some weird scratching sound. Any idea what the reason might be

Hi there Ken! You should join a ceramics class and you could easily create something similar. I'm 75 but 20 yrs ago I took creamics and made a Jesus statue, a CPO and a Chewbacca. They come ready from a mold and you sand to make smooth and take the seams off carving your initials on the bottom. An undercoat is appied and then it is fired in a kiln. The following procedure is adding the colors you want. It is then fired in the kiln again. Later the glaze topcoat goes on and once again fired. Btw...your grandmother DID have execptional talent to make this. It also shows how she and your grandfather loved each other very much. Thank you for sharing.🙂♥🐱

Hi, I found your review because Ijust received this and set it up, played a record but there is NO sound at all coming out of the speakers. I can hear the needle on the record but not a drop of sound from the speakers (and yes I turned the button all the way to the right). Their support is off for the weekend and I can't find answers online. But did you have to do anything to get the speakers to work? Or did you just turn on the machine and put the needle on the record? I think mine is defective. Very annoyed. Thanks.

I ordered this for a christmas gift and found your video most useful for this model in the Victrola line. I found the 6,8-1 units to clunky and started getting expensive, so this model was a good line, radio, bluetooth, record player, all you need.

Good records but sound is poor. I have an Ion turntable but I plug in good speakers and the sound is very good.

Hi Ken. A question for you. Inspired by your video I have just bought the exact same turntable for playing some 1920s/30s 78s. I'm delighted, so thanks so much for posting your video! However some of the records in my collection are the smaller diameter 7" and 8" ones (still 78 RPM) and the tone arm doesn't quite have enough travel to make it to the end of the track. Is this something you've come across and do you think it be adjusted? Best wishes, James

This vacuum blows. Always getting clogged up really bad where you have to unscrew the 8 or so screws on the bottom to open up. It is very dusty and also have problems taking off dust cannister. Vacuum sucks in the wrong way. No pun intended.

Their 2L bottles are 24,99€ on the bissell site here in Germany. I have done tons of research of people who owned it for many many years and there is even an article on other solutions, basically Pine Sol and Mr. Clean all purpose cleaner (no rinse solution) can be used. Some even use Fabuloso. Just be sure to flush out your system well with clear water after every use. It's what I'm going to do. Some people use Cleaning Vinegar but my husband advised against it as he deals with people descaling coffee machines this way here and it breaks.

I need a cheap one for sampling but its hard to find a decent one. Everyone ive wasted money on, has NO low end at all which makes it useless to me. Hows the low end? I dont need perfect i just need something that can line out a decent low range to preserv some of the original bass

Mine is very quiet. I plugged some headphones in to the front jack and tried the internal speakers with the volume turned up and up and up. All I get from either is a little quietly audible. Is this a cartridge issue?

You need to screw down. That bolt. So you can release the spring to protect the turntable from shock or skipping.

I had the Dyson animal ball upright, and the trap door would get stuck occasionally too, so I'd just give it a scrub with an old, soft toothbrush and mild soapy water, especially around the rubber seals, and that fixed the problem every time. I never used dishwash liquid, as that can degrade rubber over time by drying it out, so I literally just used about a half tspn of bodywash in a 2 cup jug of warm water. It's really important to keep your cleaning tools clean for them to be able to continue to do their job properly. Same goes for connecting seals, brushes, and filters. It makes a huge difference to the performance and longevity of your appliances.

I'm agree with much of what you say with the exception of blaming the Ontario govt. If you're a grown ass adult who is single and making minimum wage then you simply have to move to a region that will let you thrive at that salary. Instead of cap on rent in T.O, you have to realize if you're only bringing home $2315 it's time to open your eyes and look at somewhere cheaper to live. Take for instance the Gatineau region of Quebec - just a softballs throw from Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Tons of businesses in Ottawa and Gatineau just screaming for folks in minimum wage positions and they can't fill the spots due to the pandemic. A one bedroom in Gatineau can still be had for $800 - $1000 with basic services. 25 minute bus ride to anywhere in Ottawa. Lots of opportunity here. Folks from T.O have to realize it's either make the effort to get a better, higher paying job or make the move to someplace cheaper. Can't blame the gov't for all your woes.

It's not even just that minimum wage doesn't pay enough, it's also that an overwhelming amount of jobs refuse to pay any higher. I have a college degree, but the only openings in my field are paying min wage because they're "entry level" positions (that require 1~5 years experience, by the way) so either way I'm screwed. It's the same sentiment from many people I met in college, too. Companies are trying harder and harder to squeeze as much as they can out of people for as little as physically possible, while landlords are just as greedy as always. This system just isn't working. Not only do we need a better living wage, but we need SOME control over housing/rent prices... It's been out of hand for over a year now and nothing's getting done.
