If osu didn’t lose to isu and made it to the natty. LSU most likely dominates them and people would consider that 2011 lsu team one of the best of the century. That natty shows how bad les miles was as a fundamental hc
I never write comments, but this video deserves it. Well done
Never understood how two SEC schools made the natty in the BCS era, SEC bias stank to holy hell that year
The is the Chattanooga’s logo. It’s Central Michigan.
Baylor and TCU should’ve been in, and Ohio State and FSU should’ve been out
After the B1G champ u can’t say osu should have been out, that’s stupid
@@garythegroundhog5967 Ohio State had the worst loss out of the 3(VA Tech), and Baylor had the best win (TCU). So the only reason Ohio State got in is because of their brand.
@@baylor06delusion
@@universenerdd baylors resume was better than Ohio States that year they beat TCU as well as outscored OU and Texas 76-21 both on the road
Alabama was the 1 seed.
I can see why. Except for the 1st and last playoff games, the SEC has dominated. Clemson is the only team in between them that has won. It might change in the near future.
arkansas also played bama and lsu on the road
Ok and you nearly lost to a 7-6 team, 6-7 team and a 2-10 team. You beat a 3-9 Troy team at home by 10 points and you wanna act like your 3rd in the nation? What a joke.
@@MattBuild4 you’re a joke, that’s not accurate
@@ArkansasBasketball1994champs Oh really so reality is fake news now? Arkansas didnt beat: (3-9) Troy 38-28 (7-6) A&M 42-38 (2-10) Ole Miss 29-24 (6-7) Vanderbilt 31-28 Dude you beat opponents who went 52-72, lost twice yet were ranked as high as #3 on your last game before bowls. You beat 1 "Top 10 team" Really thats a #3 team in the country? If thats the case how the actual f&ck did Boise State never make Top 3 from 2008-2009? - 08 they beat #10 Oregon, went undefeated highest rank at #8. - 09 they beat #7 Oregon, went undefeated highest rank at #6 Seems undeniably obvious that the season favored a particular conference an thus gave teams ridiculous rankings simply for playing other teams in their conference in order to maximize the number of ranked teams and give the impression that the conference was actually good.
@@ArkansasBasketball1994champs But let me guess you wanna include bowl wins too? You know 2011 is pretty strange, because in this season bowls: #1 played #2 #3 played #4 #5 played #8 #7 played #11 #10 played #21 The #6 ranked team magically didnt even make a major bowl somehow...... Why didnt #10 South Carolina play a real team in Kstate that was similarly ranked as them and instead played the 4th best B10 team like it showcased that they were a Top 10 team. Why didnt Arkansas prove they were better than #7 by playing a higher ranked team and instead played #11 KSU 2nd in the B12 in their bowl?
@@MattBuild4so you’re mad the sec reigns supreme? Who was the coach at ole miss? oh houston nutt the same dude that coached at arkansas and wanted to beat them the most. top 10 offense either way the best or second best QB in the country. arkansas would have beaten whoever your team was easily, you’re probably a left coast fan. i didn’t know you got penalized for winning. A&m was ranked at the time and had lost only 1 game as well. shut your mouth boi and sit down
arkansas would have worked osu or stanford, they were clearly the 3rd best team in the country, sad that you didn’t talk about how good that team was
Clearly based on what? Arkansas beat an insanely overrated South Carolina team (zero top 20 wins and two loses but somehow Top 10) and the 2nd best team from the B12. You outranked the team you played in the bowl game and somehow that makes you better than the teams ranked ahead of you? Thats some nonsense. Not to mention the bowls were complete bs anyways, if you wanna prove your better than the #7 team in the country - how about you play the #6 team in the country instead of the #11 team in the country. Oh but we couldnt possibly risk the embarrassment of a second ranked SEC team getting plowed by a G5 team.
As a non-SEC or Big 12 fan what annoys me is people really don’t analyze the 2011 selection from LSU’s perspective. Yes, Ok St had a worse loss but this season effectively penalized LSU for beating Bama because they had to play an extra game against a tough Georgia team just to play Bama again- who was sitting at home while LSU risked injuries or y’know LOSING. Question- would LSU still have made the championship if they had lost to Georgia? Because if not, then that’s proof beating Bama in the regular season literally worked against them
Logic: no defense = entertaining, good defense = boring
Most painful year ever for an lsu fan😔. Best team ever to not win a championship
I think it’s undisputed that 2007 was the craziest season of all time lol
The thing about college football at that time is that the talent was more spread out than it was in the mid to late 2010s. Thats why you would see more upsets and close games by the top teams
2021 was another crazy year that no one talks about, 13 FCS-FBS upsets including #20 Washington losing to Montana, So many suprising teams expected to win 4-6 games like Baylor, MSU, Wake Forest, Pitt, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and Houston who all won 10-12 games, and there were a bunch of teams expected to be great that sucked, like #16 indiana going 2-10, #10 North Carolina going 6-7, #11 Florida going 6-7, #3 Clemson going 9-3, #6 Texas A&M going 8-4, and #7 Iowa State going 7-6. Cincinnati also was the only undefeated team in the country (13-0) after conf. champ week, and made the playoff as a G5 with an Upset over ND. We also had Michigan Finally beating Ohio State and making the playoffs from preseason unranked, OK State almost came literal inches in the Big 12 champ game from also going unranked to the playoff, which had never happened before, and almost 2 happened this year. There was Kansas beating Texas as 30 pointg underdogs, ULM beating #24 Liberty as 32.5 point underdogs (biggest upset in last 8 years), Oregon beat Ohio State in the shoe, Jacksonville State beat FSU in a hail marry, #1 Alabama lost to unranked A&M in week 7, 3-9 Stanford beat #3 Oregon, Purdue beat #2 Iowa on the road, Caleb Williams had the breakout game vs Texas, and Illionis beat Penn State in 9OT. Theres even more I didn;t even mention, So much craziness happened this year. Sorry for the really long comment.
I think the bcs should be included in the selection process for the playoffs thats the system we need
All the power conferences should have done like the BIG 12 has been doing the last few years and thats putting the 2 best teams in the conference championship regardless of division. You put Alabama vs LSU rematch in SEC championship and that opens up another team going to the national championship
YES! Conferences STILL refuse to do what the Big 12 does
Its crazy that at one point the top 3 ranked teams were LSU, Bama and Arkansas. The SEC west was no doubt the best division of college football the late 2000's early 2010's
But why? could it be your conference is overrated af? Seriously who did South Carolina beat to be a Top 10 team? Who did Arkansas beat to be a Top 10 team? South Carolina went from #25 to #12 without playing a down. They beat teams that went 16-21 on the season and made the Top 10. Lost to an UNRANKED team, but stayed in the Top 15. Beat teams that went 17-20 - made it back to the Top 10, lost to Arkansas, but still stayed in the Top 15. That is such a joke.
@@MattBuild4 This is why no one can take you seriously, you make absurd statements, easily contradicted by known facts, to wit: since the BCS was started in 1998, there have been 26 Championships earned, 15 of them from the SEC; since the CFP was started in 2014, there have been 10 Championships earned, 6 of them from the SEC. Clearly not over-rated.
@@user-et6sz3il2n This would be a legitimate statement if we didnt have a LONG HISTORY of controversial championship selection. Yet 13 of the 15 BCS selection were controversial. How the f&ck are you gonna sit here and act like every title is legitimate when the system HAS EXTREMELY DOCUMENTED history of being controversial. How the f&ck are you gonna sit here and act like 2000 is a legit title, when FSU FLAT OUT LOST #3 Miami but somehow made it over them anyways? @@user-et6sz3il2n Then we get the CFP and somehow were supposed to believe all has been fixed. Imo was better than the BCS, but then again turd in the sink is slightly better than a turd on the floor. All that has been asked by fans for decades is provide some freaking consistent criteria for selection, and the CFP said why even bother with consistent logic. 2014 we have a team got jumped out of the playoffs for, "not winning their conference". And then immediately after in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023 teams make the playoffs not winning their conference. This immediately makes the selection of 2014 incredibly sus...... In fact somehow the exact same team that got snubbed for not winning their conference in 2014, made the playoffs in 2022, except they didnt even win their conference in 2022 and had less top 25 wins. This doesnt make any sense. 2016 you have a team make the playoffs over their own conference champion who literally beat them in the season. Like wtf is the point of even playing the regular season? 2017 You have an undefeated conference champion with 2 top 25 wins, a two loss conference champion with 4 Top 20 wins and a one loss team that couldnt even win their division but beat 2 Top 25 teams. Who goes? Well clearly its the team that didnt win their division. Wtf is the point of this joke of a sport.

Please break down the greatest team season of all time.. the 2019 LSU Tigers. U the man.
That’s a good idea! I’ll keep that in mind!
One of the greatest team seasons of all time.
Great team - yes. Greatest ever - no. The GOATS will always be 45 Army for the old era and 95 Nebraska for the new era. You cannot be a goat when your defense aint even top 30. They get the records for offense solely because of the number of games they played - otherwise based on a 12 game sample both 13 FSU and 95 Nebraska beat them.
Great video. This channel gonna blow up like a taco bell bathroom. You got "it" brother. Keep up the great work.
A few of these schools like Nc state should’ve had two, they have the mascot couples and a real “wolf”. LSU also has a human mascots and the legendary tiger on campus
take a shot every time you play the LSU highlight reel
Texas’s safety dropped a wide open INT right before Crabtree scored
2007’s little brother but the superior one. While everyone was mediocre in 07, there were 5 elite teams in 08 that would’ve beaten every 07 team. Florida, OU, Texas, USC, Bama
Took college football 100 years to realize 1 loss shouldn’t eliminate you from a championship. Maybe soon it will realize standings should be based on objective criteria and not the opinion of 13 old guys
As an alabama fan, this was the most iconic year. An offensive struggle in the first lsu game and then not letting them past the 50 until the second half was just so dominant. One I’ll always remember
What legit sport has a two game series. Look it up. In almost every 2 game series the winner of the 1st loses the 2nd. Makes total sense, the winner thinks that won the 1st, they'll win the 2nd. How many coaches would love to get Saban's entitlement and a rematch.
@@mas5867 literally what does that change about my statement. U just sound salty about a championship from 13 years ago
@@sycros7473 why reference a game that has NO integrity. 24 NCs since 2000. Of those 24 NC coaches, 3 have won a NC when 1) they did not win their conference, OR 2) their opponent did not win their conf. Saban owns 4 of those. Why was he afforded as easier path? Bec any 4th grader would know OK ST or Stanford would have brought in 1/2 the TV revenue.
@@mas5867 of course i wouldve liked to see them play it out. Thats just the bcs era tho lotta teams left out. But that game was a defining moment of alabamas dynasty. N honestly who gives a shit about tv revenue cus i dont get anything out of it. And i know you dont get anything out of it. If it was all about tv revenue itd be ohio state Michigan every year.
@@sycros7473 What the F. Saban got to lose, bypass the SECC and still got a shot at the NC. How the F is that fair to the other 17 coaches during the last 24 yrs. The SECC is an invitation game. It is obviously not required. Suppose Meyer said I want to skip the 2009 SECC since Saban will get to avoid the SECC 4 times. Right. Then FL plays TX for the NC. LOL AL dynasty? All of Saba's NCs have a major caveat. Remember we have already negated 4. *"N honestly who gives a shit about tv revenue cus i dont get anything out of it. "* God man, connect the F dots. If not for TV revenue, AL does not play for 4/7 NCs bec they DIDN"T win their conf or play a team that won their conference.
I can see arguments for why Bama deserved the second title game slot, but fact is,OK state had a better resume of wins,a confrence championship. And I still believe to this day that OK state couldve beaten LSU and Alabama if they played each other.
I miss the old college football rivalries.
We have the LSU/Alabama rematch to thank for giving us a playoff. Back then it was blasphemy to have a team that didn't even win its division, let alone its conference, to play for a national championship. Out of all of outrage the BCS caused college football over the years and the constant calls for a playoff, this was the straw that broke the camel's back. They agreed upon a playoff in 2012 and it was installed in 2014.
How did this game give us the playoff? After controversial seasons in 1999, and 2001 the league rules were changed the NEXT season. So if they did it in the past why did they wait 3 years if 2011 was so controversial? Also if this was true, then the executive command of the NCAA and the BCS lied under oath to the US Senate. Cuz what is a blacklisted topic is that the BCS and NCAA were facing vicious lawsuits from the G5 from 2009-2012. 12 universities sued the league, 4 state governments sued the league and the US FEDERAL GOVERNMENT held criminal trials on the league for anti-trust, fraud and corruption. SEC ESPN and the merry followers love to claim this season inspired the playoffs, but historically this doesnt make any sense. You know what moves bureaucracy the most? How about $2 billion federal lawsuit for NOT having a playoff. Executives testified there were never any plans for a playoff in 2012 to the US Senate. 3 weeks after this US DOJ recommendations the CFP was announced. WHAT A COINCIDENCE.....
I challenge your "Division and/or Conference Champion" notion with these words: Notre Dame..., or Penn State..., or Miami....😉
Personally Oregon and Florida should have been there not Alabama or Texas also PENIX WAS SNUBBED I SWORE THAT
I wish Texas Tech would go back to the non-beveled Double-T (my pfp). It looks so much cleaner than the current one. Nobody in Lubbock knows what the admin was smoking when they redesigned the Double-T in 1999. The original design was featured in the new football gameday locker rooms and a lot of alums are hopeful we rebrand, going back to the original. It's bad when most of your fans hate their own team's logo.
Yeah I feel like there is a “brand and uniform” renaissance happening in other sports so hopefully schools go back to their better original logos.
2007 was the crazy season, not 2008
Just subscribed. Great video man! I hope your channel blows up. You definitely deserve more subscribers
If this season happened in the 4 team playoff era, it wouldn’t of even been a debate that Oklahoma state would be ranked ahead of Alabama. They had more ranked wins and were conference champions. It would have beeen 1) LSU 2) OK State 3) Bama 4) Stanford
Yeah OK State was a conference champ with LSU
That would have been a great playoff. Andrew Luck and his Peyton-esque brilliance vs that speedy secondary that LSU had. And on the other side, Brandon Weeden, Justin Blackmon, and that high flying OK State offense versus that suffocating Alabama defense. IMO, I think LSU and Alabama would've got the dubs and we'd still have the rematch.
I’d love to see this video for the year before the playoffs in 2013
The only thing better than college football, is having an Irish girlfriend that lets you watch college football

Another thing about the OSU loss to ISU is that a few days before the game, a plane crash killed the women’s basketball coach.
Here's a tribute to how messed up the B1G and the Pac12 were during the 4-team playoff era. The first CFP National Championship Game of the 4 team era was a B1G team beating a Pac12 team and the last CFP National Championship Game of the 4 team era was a B1G team beating a Pac12 team. Yet, all those years in between, the B1G won just one CFP Semifinal (Ohio State in 2020 vs Clemson) and the Pac12 had just one appearance scoring just 7 total points (Washington in 2016 vs Alabama). While sometimes it's not always about how you start but how you finish, there are instances where the first and last breathe don't matter because it's the breathes that are in between.
Had Oklahoma State been a bigger brand name than they are, or if another big brand name in College Football had been in OK-State's position in 2011 (say, Oklahoma), Alabama would not have played in that 2011 BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans vs LSU.
We shouldn’t have to be as big as an sec team we deserved it more than Lsu. As for 2024 the cowboys have a chance for the first time since 2011
Sorry meant Alabama
True, but then again the same could be said for Boise State as well. they got completely discarded for the making the mistake of losing by 1 point at home for the first time in 9 YEARS....
A large reason why the cowboys lost to ISU is cause their women’s basketball coach died in a plane crash the previous day, that devastated Stillwater
Oh please. Pink your favorite color?

Of the ranked teams they actually beat, what were those accolades? - #13 Georgia - 10-3 Beat #24 Michigan State in a bowl. Wow...... thats sus..... - #15 Ole Miss - 9-4 Beat #1 Florida. Great win - they also lost home to 7-6 Vanderbilt, 7-6 South Carolina and 8-5 Wake Forest (6th best ACC team).... This team didnt return to rankings until after bowls.
its a case where the preseason rankings made then look better. clemson was a preseason top-10 team that year. LSU? defending champs. tennessee was coming off a division title.
@@UserName-ts3sp And why was clemson #9 to start 2008? The previous season they went 9-4 and finished #22, the year before that they were 8-5 unranked - yet jumped 13 spots without playing a down? That looks like some total bs. LSU did win an extremely contested season in 2007 - course they also lost TWICE before they even played Alabama. Pretty amazing how you can go 6-2 losing two games 59-103 and still be considered a Top 15 team. By the same week Utah was 8-0 with 2 Top 25 wins and ranked behind this LSU team. Thats kinda sus. Tennessee was coming off a divisional title? Tenn lost 4 games by the time they played Alabama. They nearly got beat at home by 6-7 NIU, they did get beat 4-8 Wyoming (this team got destroyed in their conference - losing 6 games by 24 or more points, yet the ex SEC East winner lost to them).
@@MattBuild4 i didn’t say it was fair. im just saying that it looked better at the time than it did at the end.
@@MattBuild4as someone who remembers thats year there was a lot of hype around Clemson because of returning two star running backs, one being future first round draft pick CJ Spiller and they had their whole offense returning. The ACC was really really weak with Miami and Florida State falling off after the 05 season. Leaving only Virginia Tech as the only good program in that conference at that time
@@brandonconforto315 And that explains why Clemson ranked #9 and VT ranked #17 in preseason rankings how again? Again Clemson went 9-4 and 8-5 the two previous years so its not like that whole team was dominating the league prior.
