Why does ALL american recipes include sugar? regarding coco lopez. I can buy cans of coconut cream from Thailand NO sugar! Is there a reason for Coco Lopez,and its sugar? Does pina coladas HAVE to be sweet?
Do you think it would work if I used 2 tablespoons of MASA instead of 2 tablespoons of cornmeal? I love the flavor of Mossa.
Yes, it may even come out creamier since corn meal is a little more course than MASA.

Dab some water on both sides of the tortilla before you put it in the microwave. Gets it closer to that steamed texture that the chilito had.

You must have a different internet than I do. I have seen several TB Chili Cheese Burrito recipes online and very few had beans. I think they rolled theirs up keeping 1 end open. I think that needed more cheese. That's easy for me to say as I live near Wisconsin!!!

The chili cheese burrito was my go to order at Taco Bell back in the early 90s. And I think there was also some raw chopped white onion in there with the cheese as a topping.

I've tried dozens of recipes online and this one is the closest, I even bought a real packet of the Chili Cheese Burrito mixture from a Taco Bell in Ohio. It all comes in a packet and the only things added are water and beef, no tomato paste, no vinegar, and (obviously!) no beans. Glad you got everything right, however I believe you could make this even closer by using Tomato Powder instead of tomato paste. If you did that you could easily just store the powder in a jar and make small batches whenever you want one (or three.) Great work on this copycat recipe!

I had no idea these were so hard to find. My local taco bell has them, and they're the cheapest item on the menu at 1.79 each. I can see them being quite a bit cheaper homemade, but the batch size seems huge, I'd be eating them for weeks.
My Taco Bell doesn’t even have it shown on the menu but I’ve been ordering it for years. It’s kind of a secret menu thing.
