Bene Israel is not the the jewish community of northwestern india. They are marathi jews, hailing from the modern day state of maharashtra, which is in western india, and a substantial portion of maharashtra is in the deccan plateau, and a narrow western most strip of maharashtra comes under the Konkan region. You zoomed in on gujurat and it's cities, Ahmedabad and Surat. And while marathi is spoken in parts of Gujarat (majorly in Vadodara, and amongst a small number of population in Surat), it is not a main language in the state, neither a widely spoken language there. It's a minority language. People in Gujurat, mostly speak Gujurati, with Kutchi being spoken by a significant minority of people in the state. And while there is a Bene Israeli community in Gujurat, centered Ahmedabad mostly, which also has a synagogue in the Khamasa area, called Magen Avraham, it's a bene usraeli syangogue I believe. The Majority of Bene Israelis today in India, live in Thane, a city just outside Mumbai, to it's Northwest. With many also living in Mumbai, and a minority living in other areas of Maharashtra, such as Pune, alibaug, etc.

That's great! I speak a bit of Judeo-Arabic from home, and you're doing a great job teaching it. Sadly, I find it a bit difficult to understand what you're saying because of accent differences, so if you could make a video on how you pronounce the letters I think that would be great, because then I could adapt it to my accent with no problem and understand you much more easily Great job, I absolutely love this!

Read genesis 1 to 6. Before any language culture come into existence it was under the power and athourity of assyrian aramaic language of the assyrian empire. The earth was one . After God destroyed the babylon tower the akadian sumerain assyrian babylon culture language split. It's scatterd. That's when all this culture tradition language came in to existence when god scattered the babylon tower. The jewish and middle eastern culture language and its orgin came from the akadian empire. Everyone started fcking everyone. And their children's children moved forward with different dilects names foods culture traditions. Jews and assyrians are very similar. Language food Writting. If you turn the aramaic writing upside down it has hebrew letters in it vice-versa. But the tradition is different they live by moses law and traditions. Assyrians live by akitu. But now Christianity. The acient akadian assyrian language written on stone is in the aramaic Hebrew language. But thru generations. The shapes of the letters have changed.

La dagleeton khatir qordaye qatole .A good video but the region where the Jews lived is misrepresented. There are no kurdish regions. All the areas falsely claimed by kurds are not theirs but they are Assyrian regions specially what is today northern Iraq. You do not have the right because you have relations with the kurds to present viewers with lies. The Jews had very good relations with the Assyrians whether in Syria, Iraq, Iran, or Turkey, and Jews tell stories of horror of how the kurds killed, stole from Jews and took their girls and women forcing them into Islam. You should have the courage to tell the truth as is because if you do not then you lose your credibility in any project, real history does not change even when some decide to make up lies. La dagleeton khatir qordaye qatole

G-d put the rainbow as a reminder that he destroyed the previous generation for its perverse ways. Now that He began humanity again with Noach and his family, who were righteous, the rainbow was set up as a reminder. No matter how mankind falls due its many sins, the rainbow is to remind humanity that we have sinned, but G-d remembers His covenant not to destroy us. Whenever we see a rainbow, we're supposed to reflect and think about our many sins and to thank G-d for not destroying us.

There is no such a thing as Jewish kurdish, that is a lie which was promoted by the kurds and some Israeli officials. The Jews of northern Iraq speak the Assyrian language in the Zakhota Assyrian village in northern Iraq. There is no Jewish kurdish language called neo-aramaic. The word aramaic was pushed into the Tanakh. The commentator herself said that what is today known as the Hewbrew Alphabet also known as the square letters is called the Assyrian Letters which is Kitav Ashuri. You should not promote anything kurdish because it is not true. "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

As someone who speaks Marathi, Judaeo-Marathi sounds just like the std one with little hebrew vocabulary. It also sounds more archaic maybe that's because it is a prayer (kirtan) but I am still amazed to watch Bene Israelis preserving their Jew culture along with their unique Marathi language.

I recently had a student at USC tell me that Aramaic is ancient Hebrew. When I told him he was wrong he screamed and cussed at me! And he said so what if all those other people spoke it! Maybe he watched this video. Stop spreading misinformation. Attempting to monopolize a shared history is divisive and it spreads confusion.

Well aramaic , hebrew and assyrian is so related that its like siblings, Abraham lived in ur (babel/babylon) and harran (assyria),,, so the tounge of abraham was most probably assyrian/aramaic and the religion likewise,,,, later on he emigrated and formed the judean identity,,, so to be honest the kurds try to find something to hold on israelis just to contunie getting protection , funding and weopons from the israeli government,.. its not for the love of the jews so to say,,,,, kurds have cleansed most of assyrian areas out of jews and assyrians today ,,,that could also be defined as genocide by the book normally

JEWISH CULTURAL APPROPRIATION ALERT 🚨 How did Hebrews manage to develop the Aramaic language when it already existed? Developing a dialect of an already existing language is not the same thing as developing a language. If we let this narrator tell the story, the next episode the Jews will be the only people that ever spoke Aramaic or lived in Assyrian and Kurdish lands. Next they will claim a Syrians and Kurds were mythological people!

A wonderful and clever Purim shpiel. I love not only her presentation but also the comments other people have posted. I will add one more: The Corvette is a sexy car. Obviously the name comes from "kurve" with a diminutive ending. (There's even an old joke about that. A man goes to visit his mother and he says, "Ma, I can't wait to show you my beautiful new Corvette that's outside." She replies, with outrage, "How dare you bring that kind of woman home to meet your mother!"

Arabic is Arabic, it’s not a Jewish language. You can’t claim every language is yours because Jews may speak it somewhere. A European in Europe or Israel can’t claim Arabic as their native language, why not claim polish as a Jewish language or English for that matter as some Jews in Europe speak those languages ? How about I claim English is a native “Muslim” language? Seriously, you really love cultural appropriation.
