23 ktm 500 exc-f with fastway pro moto billet end cap, tacomoto co smog kit, and GET ecu mapped by tacomoto. Map 1 has so much power and it’s ridiculously smooth. Waiting to try map 2 out on some tight single track!

2023 ktm 500 exc-f First impressions/review

2023 ktm 500 exc-f, first 500 miles. Very good bike, love it so far. Some of the aftermarket parts I’ve done and future plans for the bike. And question or feed back is much appreciated. More videos coming soon, Thanks!
I know this video is a year old but how did the tires hold up? Im wanting to get this exact set up for my f150
Great video and thanks for running down the upgrades. I wish I could keep the hours down like you. I put 40 hours in 6 weeks. LOL
How were they in the snow? How many miles you got on them now?
I have the same biker and skid plate goes on in about 1 min 30 secs. I seen several videos on here of using the supplied hardware which is a nightmare. I simply just used the mounting hardware that is on the KTM frame. Drill two holes in the skid plate and mount it. Takes a few seconds to get it off for oil changes. I looked he hardware that came with it and tried to make that work. Ridiculous! They should not sell that hardware with it and pre drill holes.
I did the air boot graves slip on and get ecu it is a different bike now
Are there any updates? I just ordered some for my tundra 6inch lift 🫣
Any feedback so far? I’m looking to get them for a similar setup.
I’m on the fence between both of these bikes (2024 models) coming off a 2019 FE501. Thanks for this video. Helped clear a few things up.
riding in the wet was always difficult. you seem to handle it well. good ride. thanks for sharing
This was really relaxing to watch
Nice ride, are your tires DOT? They look nice and knobby. I’m trying to figure out a good set of duel sport tires that are primarily off road. But still legal
@@anthonyridesphilly no they aren’t dot. I’ve ran dot tires and the tread compound is always so hard for the road that they don’t do very well on the trail.
This gonna be a long story?
i have a 2012 500 EXC with a FMF exhaust and rekluse clutch. Just an insane bike
I went with the Honda because the local dealer is 5 miles away, charges zero dealer fees of any kind and the dealership is right off my favorite trail. I honestly wanted the KTM, but the closest dealer is 120 miles away, and wanted $1100 in dealer fees on top of the normal freight and pdi charges. I just anticipated less headache over the long haul with the Honda.
Why would a Honda dealer EVER pay for all the shipping, dock fees and taxes on their flagship premium dual sport then finance you, assemble it, inspect it and plate it all just for you for free. Never seen that done in my long life unless it was a used RL or your Honda dealer has a ferocious drug habit and you visited him late one night after closing while he was still there smoking crack in his office and you offered him an envelope with 100 hundreds in it for a crated RL out the back door. Now that I can believe because I have seen it before with my own eyes.
@@billyarsenault1970 well that got out of hand quickly lol I should have been more clear. They do charge the freight and pdi fee as charged by Honda, but they don't charge any "document fees" and other made up things that other dealers charge. When I went to pick up a can am atv that dealer wanted a $735 document fee and a $499 "vin etching security package" and a mandatory $2200 "extended warranty" that was through some shady aftermarket company. It was like walking into a cash advance type place for how much you knew you'd be getting bent over.
@@alexmaclean1 Haha no offense meant I knew there was likely more to your story but I was just being dramatic trying to make the same point you are now about the absurd fees making the experience of buying new very frustrating. Have a good one Alex.
I have Venom power terra hunter rt's 33+12.5 +20s! I have had absolutely no issues. Alot of bang for the buck. Only thing i don't like is they don't measure 33. Mine after install only measure 31. Just like any tire you have to rotate.
Wish I paid for a CRF450, but I bought a 2024 KTM 500exc. Its an outstanding bike. The sticker shock lasted until I rode it a couple times. I could care less now.
Tacomoto has the fork wrap turn signals that are pretty slick. I just put them on mine and they look cool
Any update on how these are doing? I'm looking at these and the Kenda Klever RT
great topic terrible sound, can't watch ;(
What type & size spacer did u run in the front?
Just subbed brother, fellow 500 single track rider 🤙
Do you rub on uca? Do you have spacers? If so what?
1/4 inch spacers in the front.
Is this truck stock height or lifted
2.5 leveling kit
The Honda will run much better with a GET SX-1 ECU. No question.
About to buy these for my ram 1500. Want 35 12.5 tire on my truck and these are right in my price range for a 35.
Need a in cab noise city speeds to highway speed
It's so hard to watch ride videos with the camera pointed straight down...
What does flamed out mean?
Cheapest muffler is from Tractor supply! Not overpriced motorcycle companies!
Safari tanks now make a 17 litre tank for this model. you do away with the factory radiator guards. They make it in Orange, Black or white.
So how did the D-sport hold up?
I never ran the front so I can’t say, but the rear tires is pretty good for the money. Definitely not the best tire I ran in the dirt but certainly not the worst either. It isn’t bad at all on the pavement either.
Thank you for your reply form mile high central Arizona.@@natea7450
Great review Nate! What do you think the minimum height would be for the KTM 500 exc-f? Could someone 5'7 or 5'8 ride it or we need lowered some?
Might need a high chair if you leave it stock. Or pretend it's an airplane. Once you are off and running, you're good to go! 🤓
was thinking of getting it lowered lol@@davidsalo8397
Was surprised to learn that the most hp any exc 500 has been dyno’d at on pump gas and stock internals is 57hp with a GET ECU. So these things probably have more like 40-45hp off the showroom floor with emissions still intact.
Doesn’t the new 2024, KTM 500, have more horsepower than the older ones?
I’m picking up a 2023 500exc-f tomorrow. Can’t wait to ride it.
Got the same bike, looking for a different bar pad. Yours I like. It fit good with stock bars? Mine has: GET ecu, full fmf 4.1 slip on with megabomb header, intake reeds removed, twin air power flow kit, and a few cosmetic changes to add more orange … love the bike
Danm, your boys are gone. What they riding?
Hey bro, how many teeth are u running for front and rear sprockets?
Thank you for the video. 2023 rl here, just under 1st oil change, cold start stall as well. Lil blip of the throttle right after start up solves it for me. Any recommendations to ease handle bar vibrations at high speed? Probably just the tires? This thing is awesome though.
Just Picked up a used 2023 rl last week. Its still not even half way to it's first oil change. Lol
Late response but some insert dampers are great for the vibrations.
Check out my 6 days it's 70hp rips
Try a dunlop d 606 rear tire
Bro please delly upload video ❤❤❤😊
Check out the carbon up clutch cover
Thinking about doing the exhaust end cap and ecu. Is there a big difference in sound with the end cap? Thanks great video
Yes, it’s still not as loud is the xcf or sxf factory silencers tho
Beauty bike dude, I run a 22 with a Get ecu, sxf muffler and Intake Reed delete. Things I think you will like is: 1) tighten up your steering head bearings a bit (poor man’s steering damper mod). Made it handle much better at high speeds 2)Shock Sox, to keep your fork seals clean 3) Fork guards to protect fork bottoms. 4) Fork bleeders. Also to keep fork seals from blowing out 5) swingarm protector wheel. Keep the mudguard from damaging your swingarm. 6) 45 rear steel sproket. Makes the bike pull much harder with all this new power, not so much shifting and 1st is slightly more useable. Enjoy the bike, hated mine stock but after mods it really came to be one of my favorite bikes ever 👌
What year sxf muffler fits?
19-23 250 to 450, need to use the exc front cap is all with the sxf muffler body and endcap
Nice 🤘
Not going to school dad I want to drop u for this
This bike in EU spec is also amazing. Great vid 👍
Timbersled!
Camera angle looks perfect in this. Just grabbed a crf300l for the summer.
Sweet, I would like to own a 300l at some point and do a bike build on one, they are cool bikes!
Besides the bike , how do you like those 100% gloves ?
you guys should have shot gunned 2 beer and recorded lol
