Hi I'm Jody, I live in Australia and am a Textile Fiber Artist. I specialize in making stunning Luxury, Exotic & Rare fiber products for other like minded fiber artist, as well as for my own projects. I've been spinning for almost 13 years now, weaving for 8years and dyeing fiber for 5years. My goal is to share what I love with anyone interested in learning to create stunning Yarns, fiber and woven garments for themselves.
I offer custom orders for those with a vision and desire to own such stunning unique yarns and/or handpainted fiber ready to spin & felt with.
I will be filming all or most of my orders and projects which can take a week or 2 to complete the process of making the items, filming and editing.
For every 100 subs up to 1000 subs, I'll hold a GIVEAWAY.
Once I hit 1000 subs I'll put on a GIVEAWAY for every 500 subs.

This week I am sharing the spinning of Blood Orange, such a beautiful colour and soft and shiny fibre mix. Polwarth / Shetland / silk I've plied this one with a Merino / Silk Thread.
Light fingering weight WOW I have not spun this fine in a few years!
I'm very happy with this spin and hope you all enjoyed watching it.
This type of yarn takes 2-4 days to complete I filmed an hour every day and chose the best parts to share in this video.

The yarn looks scrumptious, Jo. I understand the desire to get as many metres as possible, but there is something about the barber pole effect that draws me to ply wool on wool and sacrifice the length.

What an absolute joy to find your video, so clearly spoken, and no background nonsense, I loved it!! Have been trying to decide all day whether to buy this spinner, you have made my mind up for me, thank you!! I already have a Joy2 and EEW 6 😊
I do like the size of the Ashford Super Jumbo E-Spinner but if I got to choose again I would go a Jumbo with the lazy kate and extra bobbin. This one came with 1 bobbin and Carry bag only and the bobbins cost roughly $80 or so each. The Super Jumbo fits up to a kilo on it and the Jumbo fits 500g I will never fill the Super Jumbo. Thanking you also for your lovely comment and enjoying my video :) I have many tutorials on my channel if you are not yet a subscriber please do follow me :) I try to put out a spinning video every week or 2 depends on the difficulty of the spin.
@@josparadiseofcolor thanks for your reply. It appears that the Jumbo isn’t available from any of the UK suppliers, only the smaller e spinner ( bobbins hold 235gms or the super jumbo) The cost of the super jumbo bobbins was one thing making me hesitate, here they are £64!
@@lizpurvis3478 i just ball the yarn into my hand after the single and then put it into a basket to ply. You really don't need a second bobbin.

@@jenniferbrighty5120 recycled sari silk can become a rope when spun it's very short threads so its best to blend it or core spin it.

Naww thank you Jen, Sorry I didn't reply to this one as it didn't show up in my notifications. only in my studio. This one took me 8 days to complete, the most expensive yarn I've made for custom order also. 200g of fibre is $100. And yes this fibre is the most softest!

I haven't quite mastered the technique of doing a Corespun Yarn.🧶 I save all my leftovers too, in Ziplock Bags. I received my first lot of vertigo treatment and so far I feel normal like before I got sick. I'm really hoping its cured and I can start focusing on working on me again. I've been so depressed and have put on so much weight I need to start doing something about that. So much more I can't talk about. But getting better also if getting me back into making these videos. I seriously think youtube is not sending the notifications out to ppl too... 🙄 😒 Very frustrating 😕 But I am pleased you can find them and leave such lovely comments 😊 so thank you 💕

I really hope that the treatment continues to work and that your other problems get sorted out too. Losing weight is easier said than done, I struggle with mine too, I don't think that some of the meds help either. I think the time difference between us RUclips don't seem to be able to work that one out.🤣. I hope you have planned a restful weekend, although running a home and being a mum means that things don't always go to plan. I hope your Fish 🐠 business is good well.
